I wonder if FFVIII can be played with an emultated "PocketStation" (only sold in Japan in the PS1 era), as it's the only way to obtain some unique items in the game.

that background (2:35) portraying some PS mascots wasn't made by a gamer. what a cheap knock-off.

Just remember that MS showed off Halo 4 running on a Windows Phone using Azure. As nice as this will be for gamers, it's not 1 sided.

Lets just hope with competition comes getting previously purchased games (on the older-gen) for free :D

Although there are some things I wish I'd heard from Sony about this "service" (and still hope they institute) -- discounts for previously having purchased said games and examples of additional content (ie MP) incorporated into the games -- I'm still excited to see this implementation.  I'll certainly still collect physical discs, but the availability of Playstation Now...  and that it can run on TV's, handhelds, and tablets...  is amazing.

MS is missing the boat.  Sony has a much stronger focus on this gen and beyond.

@battlefront1943 Don't discount MS's Azure platform. From what I've heard, it is at the least on par to Gaikai (if not better)...

@m4a5@battlefront1943The problem MS is having is -- they made a big point of saying publicly Azure would beat Gaikai to the punch.  Not going to happen.

MS may have a competent service, but their issues this gen continue.

BTW, Azure is having a fair number of latency issues.  We'll see if they can get that fixed for a release...  but almost certainly after Sony's implementation.

@battlefront1943I don't remember MS saying anything of the sort...

And this is just going into beta... still has yet to be proven on a large scale...
