On the Spot (10/30/08) Demo
Check out a demo of this game as seen on our live weekly show, On the Spot.
Why isn't this being released on PS3!!!!???? I love zombie games. And before anyone has a go at me for 360-bashing I have nothing against them. Good on you for getting games like this and Dead Rising, I just wish could play it!
Wow. Please stop using the time it takes to beat the missons to try and make the game look bad. First I preordered it for 360 so i got the demo on the 7th and ive beat the demo like 100000 times on each difficulty with friends and still dont get bored with it. This game is sick nasty, and by the way, read up on some stuff before assuming they havent said anything about new content. During one of the demos with one of the people that worked ont he game he said they would be releasing new stuff for 360 and pc versions.
Looks great, should have my 360 in 2 days time and then Im ready for some zombies on steriods action the following day :)
people are stupid, Every game is the same, Every game replays itself. Consider COD4, you play the same map, same weapons, and the same perks and skills. Nothing new but you keep playing it. Truly every game is different in size but they are all repetative and thats why no matter what game you get bored of it some time or another.
Game looks amazing, i have been waiting for a while for this one. Downloading the demo today to see if it can run on this comp, if not, always have the 360.
I think it's good that this isn't story driven. For a while now, all the "good" stories in action or FPS games have been horrible. And if you've heard the dialogue or read the story of Gears 2 and thought it was good, trust me, you're better off with old school games that let you fill it in yourself. I just hope the single player campaign is as good as the multiplayer in this.
There's only one thing that people need to remember when it comes to longevity on valve games...GMod...nuff said. With that said, I can't wait to play L4D.
half-life relatively well-received? was he being sarcastic? the half-life series was considered by some fans (myself included) and critics to be the all-time best on the PC.
I was gonna buy this game until my steam completely broke and valve would not give me any support so even though i could buy it for my 360 im pretty pissed at valve for making me lose all of my pc games, so im gonna hold off on this one
Dont wanna sound like a nerd or nothing but at 2:31 you make a reference to the '28 days later zombies'. There not zombies in that there infected people xD once people get killed by them they dont come back =D
what the hell they said that friendly fire was turn off-able but valve said that u CANT turn it off...
This is not about lenght. The replayability is awsome. The same objective..but the game is NEVER the same. I played the demo for quite a while now and i have to admit it is a blast. 20 lvls...and if you want a challenge and not childplay, try expert..then you will enjoy trying to make it throught each and every level. And what is this guy talking about in the video?..There is no melee weapon. This game's force is ONLINE...dont judge it by the single player, the experience just dosent cut it...its like getting Battlefield game for its single player...its online focused.
This game looks really neat I agree with shadow the replay value doesn't sound that good. I also hope that blowing off the heads isn't the only thing that you can do I would love to be able to blow off limbs, blow holes through the zombies, maybe even blowing off bottom half and have them crawl at you with just there hands. With this being a game from valve I hope that they put a little more creativity into the game the multiplayer looks like it would be fun, but then again just playing the same thing over and over can really ruin a game. All in all this game is a rent, I don't know if I would buy it.
I am not completely sold on this game since the whole multiplayer and replay value is just playing the game over and over again. Even if every time you play it, its "completely different", that will still get old. And I like story driven games so this not being one is kinda lame for me. I will still rent this though without a doubt simply because the gameplay looks hella fun
Blacktiger01, what exactly would u need to take cover from zombies don't have guns. Also, I bet they play on easy so they can concentrate on talking while they play, if they played on hard they would have to concentrate on the game too much to talk
BigGhostrider12, hey would just like to say that by the looks of this game the run and gun method is a constants there is no cover systems, the only other option would be to stand still which by the looks of things would be a stupid idea. Not including group tactics, obviously.
you don't run and gun like he is on the harder difficulties. He's prolly on normal which quickly gets boring
Getting both versions then, i liked CS mods and stuff, can't wait to see what people do with this game.
ok ok, I was just looking somewhere to write down.. THIS GAME IS AWESOME!! Playing the demo now... I expected allot, but it's better!!! ahhhhh... ok I said it.. I can go rest now.. (p.s. just played the 2 chapter demo 6 times in a row... each was completely different. Can't wait to go back and play more!)
People complaining about the length obviously don't play source games on pc, if you play source games on pc you would know how active the mod community is. By the time you get bored of the story mode there will be 50 totally new user created story modes to play thru (some good some bad some so-so) and that number will continue to multiply, and valve may pop in a few new ones from time to time like they do the tf2 updates. Valve laid out the groundwork and a story mode plus their new ai director technology for the community to take full advantage of, people make whole mods on the source engine from scratch and some are damn well made. When those same people delve into making their own story modes for this game its gonna be awesome.
Okay, I think it looks okay, but I'm not so sure about playing it over and over. If they are planning on new content releases and keeping it a secret, they shouldn't be, the idea of a game that's excuse for being hella short is that you can play it over and over is not exactly appealing, even less so with no promise of new stuff every once and a while. It looks fun but playing it over and over... I don't know. If they put portal and HL2 and HL2 ep1 and HL2 ep2 and Tfort in one pack for $60 and now they expect us to buy a game that is 4 hrs long for the same amount with replay value as an excuse? Hmmmmmm... no.
Okay how many games have looked awesome in trailers with complete idiots playing them? Pretty much any game that's been showcased looks good. From the look of it the zombie will die if you shoot them in the foot enough. Another problem is look how fast they're moving? Part of the fun of survival horror is being able to fortify your position but this is just run and gun. The part where you can't get up unless a teammate helps you up is also kind of lame. I know their trying to make a extremely team oriented game but seriously part of being a team is being able to take care of yourself.
