This game is a shame to the D&D license. It has nothing in common apart from the name(s)

Ok DONT PLAY any BETA!!!!!!!!!! after playing last weekend I got addicted and where's the game to play lol... just my opinion this game is about Dungeon Crawling at its best and the player-made content is where the game really shines!.. Its simple and FUN! I played as Rogue to lvl 25 and Control Wizard to 20, the game is fast paced no need of thousands os skills to be a good game!.. My only complaint are the characters visuals and item design which I found repetitive I hope it got better close to release ... maybe the reason is that they will try to sell cosmetics like Path of Exile where all armor an weapons looks almost the same...

I think neverwinter is just awsome, especially the battles with non-targeted attacks and free skill combinations, which reminds me there's another game called age of wushu which is very similar. it also has no class, no leveling in charatctors with thousands of skills and realistic to its core

So disappointed this game has nothing new. I like Age of Wushu better.

I see a lot of negative comments but very few who stated that they actually played the Beta.  I went in with the same worries but have to admit the game was very fun. Not out to change anyone's opinion but I would suggest giving the beta a chance if you MMO.  Hell its FTP.  No one is holding a gun to your head and saying but the Founders Pack.

I like this game no matter what XD. But I hope its not too much grinding... but more on the journey, exploration (majestic map scenery) cool PVP... & the role-playing of course which made this game famous...

some of the nerdy neverwinter/D&D fanboys crying and criticizing this without even playing it are some of the sorriest sacks of sh*t. you truly make me lol. Get over yourselves, get over the fact that  it's a game, and a very decent game (yes, unlike a lot of you b*tchers & wh*ners and lorefreak b*tt buddies I have played it for a few days already) & geta  f*cking life & find something to complain about that matters and isn't a f*cking fntasy world that has no impact ony our life whatsoever. put some of your energy into complaining to the crooks that have put the country in debt and are f*cking up the economy and ignoring the constitution as it suits their greedy purpose.

TLDR: D&D and forgotten realms fangirls, STFU and complain about somehting important. at least play the game before you complain.

Really looking forward to this game. just the thought of creating your own adventures alone is amazing.

Still working my way to ascended gear in guild wars 2 and really enjoying it.

I play 2/3 hours a day and the time is well spent.

Wow, they ruined Neverwinter by making an MMO version but how did they manage to make it worse by having such terrible jerky movements and silly combat. What a waste of time and energy...

So what separates this mmo from the 5 billion other mmos that look and play exactly like this?  Good lord someone please do something new with this genre.  Not to mention thanks for dragging Neverwinter's good name through the dirt with you.

so, neverwinter went down the drain it looks like. I really hope this isn't what'll happen to the new elder scrolls MMO...but I have a feeling it might turn out the same ;(

I gave up on this mmo when I reached my mid 20's and found that the only way to identify items you receive is to farm id scrolls or purchase them with in game currency. When asked in general several times, the community acknowledged that they only way to get more ID scrolls and therefore sell items at any value; is to farm up scrolls or spend in game currency.

So standard green and blue mmo drops have been turned into a cash sink. To put this in relation, from 1 to 29 I earned over 1000 crystals that can be used to buy in game items such as scrolls. To buy one ID scroll it was 800 crystals. So compounded with the limited inventory space, which of course you can pay RL cash to expand; and the fact that you can't even get items out of your inventory without spending RL cash unless you want to sell the item for one copper, the game has a really horrible MT process.

Every other MMO ever. Main reason I no longer play them.

@raymacz1 I played the last two betas and it's exactly what you hoped for. There's no need for grinding in a game like this because it's all about completing dungeons solo or with friends. Of course you can grind your way to the end doing dungeon after dungeon if that's what you need to feel good about yourself. But people who do that usually burn out on any game they play pretty quickly, and then complain like it's everyone else's fault that they didn't take time to enjoy the content.

For the rest of us who enjoy savoring the experience of a good adventure, the pre-made story and quests gradually introduce you to the various elements of your character and Neverwinter's world, but the player-made content is where the game really shines. The development tools are so fantastic, people can recreate their favorite D&D modules, campaigns, and customize every element of them down to the eye color and outfits of individual monsters. Or if you want to let the game engine handle all the heavy lifting, you can focus on just designing the story elements, quest triggers, trap locations, monster types, and let the game engine fill in the environmental details (and it does a really great job). The Foundry tool is a very clever way to get endless free content out to players, while keeping development costs down. It's also a great way to ensure that you're less likely to be bored after you reach the end-game level cap.

If you get a chance, do a Youtube search for the "Neverwinter Foundry Demo" to see the tools in action. In short, the game and dungeon tools are like Neverwinter Nights on heavy steroids, with fast paced combat that feels like Dragon Age II with no pause button. =)

The game looks average at best. Another wasted potential. That's why gamers bitch and whine. When the F**** will we get an epic D&D Or Warhammer game.

@2bitSmOkEy two majors differences: its Dungeons and Dragons and it has user created dungeons. Besides, i played during the beta weekend and it's been long since ive had so much fun in an MMO.

@Rubious You do know its a beta and prices are bound to change? And you shouldnt identify all the items you get, just the ones you think you can use.
It's perfectly normal in D&D to have expensive item identification on lower levels and the ID scroll drops on higher levels are much higher, plus farming them in the right places is not that hard.

@wheelercub I think you mentioned it all.. thanks for the great tip, appreciate it.  I guess, we are on the same boat ( I like Dragon Age a lot too  & this type of games). I'll give this a try soon when I have the time like I used too (since Baldur's Gate).  I'm positive this game will be a success esp. to matured veteran players...

The 200 dollar pack is more like a donation, just like people who pay 500 bucks for a kickstarter game, and they only receive the game and some extras.
