damn this game from its trailer won the title best game of 2010 looking dead forward to this cool game
I am seriously confused, no one told me Ghibli jumped on the video games foray ??? I hope they only handle animations tho, they're the best in that regard, they have no experience in game design and should stick to what they do best, i.e. Animation !!
@Raeldor I'm not talking about development. Two great companies together, alright, no doubts this game has a lot of potential. I just think the story will turn out childish and shallow.
@shadow-xz if you've seen any of Gibli's movies you must know that their protaganists are never lacking personality. Walt Disney once had a saying 'for every laugh there should be a tear'... Gibli's movies (like Pixar's) take this to heart and are very emotionally driven. Combine this with the amazing development abilities of Level 5 who have produced such great games as Dragon Quest VIII and Professor Layton and this is set to be one of the biggest and most exciting RPG releases EVER.
Jap kliché, sorry but that's all I see and so should be the case for any manga/anime interested person. Studio Ghibli :) thought I felt all warm inside for some reason :D
Random 8-year-old protagonist straight out of some really indie japanese anime lacking real personality traits makes his way on a simple adventure RPG targeted at japanese children. Doesn't sound much exciting. Even though the gameplay was really interesting, if the story is as dull as it seems, there's no reason for anyone to buy it (or at least for me to do so).
Looks fantastic of course, but I'm a little confused. Will the PS3 game be the same story? It seems to have a different title... is that just for marketing purposes?
Hope it's fun, and a great ps3 game to boot. Level 5 worried me with their terrible White Knight Chronicles game but I still think they can have quite the impact this gen.
look good but they should focus on making layton well it only my opinion lol maybe they already made enuf layton but anyway i would like it if it would come out on pc :(((( i absolutly loved recettear: An item shop's tale
i hope the European version will include the Japanese voice acting, it fits anime more than the English voice
For those of you that missed the PS3 trailer: http://tgs.gamespot.com/video/6276316/ The trailer you just saw is for the DS game.
is this the trailer for the ds only or is it the ps3 and ds trailer? i really hope that the in game graphics on the ps3 look exactly like the cutscenes that would be great i liked the trailer looks nice and seems to have a deep story, it seems his mom died or disappeared
I Still SAY: PROFESSOR LAYTON IS ONE OF THE BEST SERIES MADE BY LEVEl 5, KEEP UP THE GOODWORK, And Hopefully we can Hope for the Future Release of the 2nd movie, and more games
A definite must-have for a Studio Ghibli fan such as myself, but they better release it here in the U.S.
I could of swore this Ghibli Studio was working on a ps3 game with Level 5...in anycase it looks like this one is gonna be interesting.
