Nice Mop (Hair) Dante! - DmC: Devil May Cry Gameplay
Dante tries out a new(/old) look before kicking some hunter-demon ass! [Ed. Do they even have asses?]
I interpreted this scene 2 ways. 1) the developers trolling the old cry baby fans or 2) a comical way that Dante said "never in a million years" when he ends up looking that way kind of like a dramatic irony kind of thing.
People are going to interpret this in 2 ways: negative reaction "They're saying to the veteran fans fuck you" or positive reaction "lol that was hilarious". As a business venture, it would be rather stupid to say to the fans "fuck you" with something like this. People who are Dante's age in THIS game are usually at a point where their tastes are particular in that point and time, but years later people's tastes change. I believe the company was giving a "nod" in the direction of the older games just like they have many other things in DmC that are in reference to or give "nods" to the older games, not as a "fuck you" to the older fans but as a "hey we paid attention to this". No need to take it offensively. I hated DmC when I first saw interviews and videos for it as much as any other veteran fan. But then I realized, it not's NJ's fault for this "pulled out of our asses" bullshit, its CRAPcom's fault for taking such a drastic turn. I'm giving NJ the benefit of the doubt on this game and I haven't regretted that decision. I'm having fun and I love the design for Vergil (not to mention the ending of the game surprise with him). Relax people. Jesus. Hell they even mentioned Tony Redgrave in one of the achievement windows that pop up during gameplay. I forgot which one specifically, but not all veteran DMC fans know of Dante's alias in the....first novel? I thought that was fantastic. It felt like NJ actually gives a damn and are paying attention even to the minor details. Give the company a chance.
Seeing as the new Dante looks like a junkie Twilight vampire, it's true that hairstyle doesn't suit that washed up face
@DragonElement I remember when that wig fell on his head, and for a second nostalgia hit me...then Dante dared to say, "Not in a million years."
Yup, Ninja Theory was definitely saying "fuck you" to the fans right there.
Yet in the end he still gets white hair.
@meedokicky yeah... disrespectful
