The hud is way too cluttered...
Hopefully we can enter every or mostly every building. The open world genre of gaming needs to step it up if it wants to be next generation, and the way I see that is by letting us go in every building WITHOUT loading screens aka connected to the main map.
It will be hard to tell if this game will be better than GTA V. From what I've seen, all answers are currently pointing it no. Why do people compare this game to GTA? Because they are fairly similar, large open worlds set in cities which give us a sandbox environment of people, weapons and vehicles to explore with. The only thing is Rockstar tends to do it better than most, look at all the clones over the years. Saint's Row, Sleeping Dogs (underrated in my opinion), Watch Dogs, etc... And to say Rockstar games are horrible or childish would be naive, as they have changed the face of gaming with GTA III, with the concept of open world, sandbox games.
I still hope this game is a lot of fun though, but it seems less likely since it seems there will be only a few cool mechanics that will get boring and repetitive. So, if you are truly reading these comments, Ubisoft, I advise adding other activities into the main game in which we can do when we aren't hacking the world with a smart phone.
I would like to reserve judgement before playing this game. However, this new trend of releasing long demos of games from companies bears a similar goal. They want people commenting on it, so that they can alter the game based on a logical feedback from the consumers or gamers.
I am looking forward to this game though.
They seem to have fucked it up. This stupid baton melee... If he has a gun, he should use a gun for Hand to Hand combat. And seems like generic action. Nothing special.
WTF is this? This 'Wacht Crocks' game looks like is made for grey-haired grannies, so boring!
COD seems the way to go!
Wow great video, I just can't WAIT to play this game on PC, it's like a GTA for adults, more gameplay, more complex, more sexy!
i really wish ubi would just tell us which version we are looking at in all these demos and trailers. it makes a difference imo, to know which game you are looking at. ps3 might perform very differently to ps4, or they might look more similar then we think. i just wish we knew...
It's not often we get much coverage of western developed games at TGS, is it? And that english speaking presenter; was that the creepy guy from E3?
This game is looking like it might just be pretty cool. The extent of things you can do with your phone is impressive.
I noticed the 360 was missing from the list of platforms this game's coming to. It was originally announced for the 360 wasn't it?
this game feels more interesting than assassins creed, no doubt AC 4 will be a good game, but i am more interested in playing this game since the concept looks more griping to me and comparing this game to GTA is a bummer. GTA is a different sort a game. All open world games are not alike. plus this game is a new concept which is like a hit or miss, So far its looking like a Hit
The AI seems to be pretty intelligent in combat...on top of flanking, they move in squads instead of individually walking out to be shot.
I can't decide wether to get this for PS4 or my gaming rig. Might get it for PS4. I can play it in comfort in my room then.
let's all take a vote: which is better, GTA V, or a game which hasn't even been released yet? GTA V!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea, dawg! Woohoo!
Watch Dogs is about subtlety, GTA V is about psychotic chaos. In Watch Dogs you can create your own sense of morality and the city reaction to you changes because of it, GTA V is about rampant immoral behavior with little to no consequences. Watch Dogs is about vengeance, GTA V was about making money (a theme that is present in every single GTA game, just more so in this one).
Comparing Watch Dogs and GTA V because they are two sandbox games set in a city with weapons and vehicles is just ridiculous. What next? Let's compare Red Dead Redemption and Assassin's Creed III because they are two sandbox games set in developing America with weapons and horses at your disposal?
@Davimus518 GTA5 clearly looks like an overacheiver as far as variety, but that's compared to every sandbox game out, which people will still find plenty of fun in. It doesn't have to beat GTA5 to be a great success. Regardless, Watchdogs still has the core mechanics of what makes GTA5 fun as far as action goes, only it gives you quite a few more options to go about objectives. Something the previous before GTA5 did not have period. There was so much in GTA4 that I didn't even want to do it was ridiculous. Sometimes half-assed diversions where the bulk of it ended up being just the same driving and shooting anyway. Then there's the few activities that literally felt like I'm doing chores. I don't see how Watchdogs mechanics would get boring much quicker. About being able to enter every building in a game, I think that's going to be an unrealistic goal for quite a while still.
@Davimus518 all of you claiming that gta3 changed or invented open world\sandbox: do you or did you ever play PC games from the 90s or very early 2000s? had happened way before gta3 with much better worlds and stories.
i know being a rapper\gangster is every whiteboy's dream these days but i'd still much rather leave the industrial ghetto world for some fantasy. get enough of all this crap in the street and on tv everyday. and this is not a "dis" on gta, i enjoyed 3, and vice city, and 5 looks pretty good. it's just not everyone in the world's preference no matter how much you guys claim it's the best games in the world and how it supposedly changed everything for gaming. it's just like the simpsons or southpark were, they pushed the boundaries of what the open public would except as decent(mostly), but there were other series before them that did what they do and even did them better.
@The-Lord There are not many people who can read the same book 10 times but I guess you and millions of others can
GTA is deeper than most give it credit for.
@punkdsk8erdude This was PS4 gameplay dude be more observant.
@punkdsk8erdude Looks like ps3/360 to me.
The main weapon is a smartphone, of course it's on TGS.
@PlatinumPaladin It will be for the 360, PS 3, Wii U, Xbox One and PS 4.
@HipHopBeats Kids will...
@ns0l it is a mistake comparing other games to GTAV.
@DemocraticTroll Wow, good trolling indeed...
@The-Neon-Seal That depends on what is more important to you? If graphics or fps then maybe your PC?
@MarcRecon Where'd you see that?
@ChiefFreeman By that logical reasoning, GTA V > every single game released in the future.
@ChiefFreeman Well GTAV sucks sooo I'm going to take a guess and say Watch Dogs!
@ChiefFreeman Wont know until release so....
@Garm31 Just like GTA V
@sanagames22 could you repeat that in English please?
@RE4WiiGirl @The-Neon-Seal The PC that would run this is the 'family PC' and so it is in the office, but if I had it on PS4 I would have to wait longer to play it, but I could play it in my room so... ps4 it is. Sitting under quilt with mug of hot chocolate/(insert alcohol of choice) beats sitting at the desk! :D
