Can we put this game to bed now?
Really done hearing about Mass Effect and all the different endings.
I chose this. I think this is the perfect ending. It was the culmination of a very enjoyable, very emotional story. Well done to Bioware for listening and creating something special. There has been lots of negative comments about ME3 and they are still present despite the extended endings. These people are in my wiew sheep, all mindlessly following each other, feeding on negativity while trying to sound articulate.
These sheep need a shepard.........
I was one of few who already knew what biowares intent was with ending and liked it but this just visualizes what I already knew...thanks guys great job with this.
Wow, Evangelion, Deus Ex: Invisible War and Stargate SG-1.... Ripped all three off with that ending. Nothing new under the sun, eh?
Love that the Gamespot SPOILER alert screen at the beginning says "This video has been rated S for "brief" spoilers and gratuitous awesomeness." BRIEF spoilers huh. Isn't the very nature of this entire video outside of the game a spoiler? I don't think there is anything brief about it especially since this is one of the endings to the game. And if you haven't seen the original endings by this point what are you doing watching this anyway?
the VO for the grandfather at the end is still painfully bad. let's start a petition, maybe they'll change that too!
What, they've all become part-synthetic, part-organic? The co-existence part worked out well for me, but do they really need to have jaundiced eyes and skin?
@macca366 i was thinking abut the huskies as well, they were simply tools, soo tjhey shuldnt be self aware, but if they are, man that is SAD AS FUCK, imagine remember you were onoce a persoon and nwo yoou are stuck into this shell !!
Jesus.. Imagine the amount of sentient Husk refugees.
Anyway, I would have been satisfied if the ending was originally extended like this, instead of the short and alienating version. I actually liked the whole ending sequences apart from the very final minute long cutscenes. I felt like I resolved my personal branching story lines throughout the campaign, and hence I liked how the ending went beyond them and gave me something new. I didn't need a montage.. *sweeping shots of geth and quarians rebuilding and sharing the home world*... I already tied that up in the game. Anyway, I say fine job :) Just a shame the originals were so oddly abrupt.
You would think with the information they acquired they could just revive all those who were lost...... apparently synthesis didn't fix selfishness.
Still the same endings, and many will still not like them, but at least the implementation of them is much, much better.
Personally, I still find the ending thematically disconnected and with forced unsatisfying choices, but at least they presented it a lot better this time around.
There would be a massive existential crisis with people suddenly becoming a syntheses between organic and non-organic lifeforms... A fairly weak ending in terms of not explicating this.
I was all right with the previous endings..... sorta lol. ok I'll be honest, I was annoyed after I unlocked the 2nd ending in my second play through and it looked the bloody same haha. but with these new ones, they have their own varied ways of the same ending, I like that.
i got only 3 picks control, destroy, and refuse, i never got a 4th option. what does Synthesis option do if you choose it? i dont care if you spoil it for me.
Sorry, BW, your ending still sucks. More than that, I'm starting to think that all the depth of story was sucked out of this franchise back during ME2. The story has grown noticably less complex and nuanced since the first game, and the last two games turned into generic war stories. The evil empire strikes again.
I liked the new endings... it gave me closure...that was the only thing I ever wanted... a closure.. for this, I Thank you Bioware!
Basically the same ending as it was before but then longer. The obvious explanation for all events like Joker fleeing was chosen and not the silly conspiracy Elvis-lives ending that the fans made up. The original ending was fine and I understood what they meant then already.
The "commander shepard" placard-scene in the synthesis ending is very nice, touching addition.
And to think it was this simple to make an ending that made it all worth it. Some might find it a bit to emo or 'happy happy joy joy', but for me, this is the perfect ending to the choice I made. Even with the death of commander Sheppard that I kinda took into account when I started on ME3. Good job Bioware, pitty you didn't do it like this from the start and made a load of crybabies cause a sh*tstorm on the net, but I never lost faith in you. Now get to work on a new epic journey that might, but probably wont (sorry), beat this one. *Bow*
As often happens when something aspires to be artistic it ends up shoving it's head up it's own arse.
What the Extenended Cut added was awesome... the problem is it added to an already craptacular ending.
@foxhound421 It's fookin' Buzz Aldrin!! Seriously!
@foxhound421 If you choose refuse, its an alien woman from the future advanced race talking to the little boy which I think makes it quite nice
But no more changes or we won't see single player DLC for a long time!
@tahashaikh15 yes we know that there is no reason to run but for all he knows that shock wave was going to destroy them all.
@tahashaikh15 The Crucible initiated and Hackett ordered all fleets to retreat. Joker was one of it and tried to escape the blast, I guess.
@msfan1289 Synthesis merges the organics and synthetics.
@theone86 No the endings do not still suck, they clean up the plot holes, differ based upon choice, and most importantly provide a sense of closure, making them real endings.
And the story is not at all less complex. The only reason you think that is because the original was the game to introduce everything to you, all the lore and most importantly all the secrets. Sequels build upon that, but they can't give you the process of being brought into a new universe again. They are about expanding the story, building upon the already existing lore, and revealing those secrets. And once those secrets are revealed, you feel as though the story lacks depth and complexity, which - in reality - it doesn't. They are not generic war stories, far from it in fact.
@theone86 Although I agree the first was the best that might be just because it was the first and sequels can never truly live up to the original
But your wrong about the new endings, I think there now worthy of the Mass Effect series
@theone86 unfortunately you are right. ME1 was the best one among the series. It just got worser in the "role playing" part and evolved into a typical third person shooter game :(
Just like in dragon age, it just got worser. DA:O was much better than DA2
But is Shepard really dead?
He / she has been dead before......
@esk1m00k You have the Gears of War logo as your avatar. Your opinion is invalid.
@bhyesilnil I disagree. ME2 was certainly the best. Sure, the story was simplistic, yet at the same time it was pretty epic, and the relations built with the characters made you actually care about them. Well, at least i thought it was the best
@001011000101101 Youre right, opinion nullified by avatar fashion police.I should be more mindful of these things right?
