Awesome. I chose this ending when I played, and I loved it back then without it extended. It was a sad and beautiful ending, to a beautiful game. I held off on watching this because I felt I didn't need to, but I'm glad I did now.
You killed Miranda! You horrible person! :PAnyways I chose the control ending, you sacrifice Shepard, but everyone else lives! (i really cared about EDI and the Geth I just couldn't destroy them)
So.. they just added a peech from Hacket?Good to know that Sovereign was retarded for trying to reach the citadel when the moon boy who controlled the reapers and controlled the citadel could have triggered the mass relay inside it.Also it's nice to know that the collectors had no impact or value in the story, what was their point? To break some havoc and try to build ONE reaper? Also it's interesting how the reapers in ME3 just walked the way to the galaxy and didn't need the citadel's mass relay in the first place . Oh and how they didn't attack the Citadel which was said in ME1 was the first thing attacked by reapers was a sign of good faith from the Reapers. Anyone remembers the swarm of bugs that the Collectors used to paralyze whole planets? Well apparently the Reapers forgot they could do that and instead used million of husks to do that job. That was the Problem with ME, they had 3 games and 3 different writers for each of them, each writer had their own ideas which completely pissed on the other ones. So that's why we got a broken story full of plotholes and things that make no sense. The first lead writer was the best and made the reapers seem like intelligent being with a purpose, while the second just made some enemies to fight off and the third just made the reapers stupid and forgot that Harbinger existed.
That flashing image of EDI smiling, right before you destroy all synthetics, is just painful. Damn..
It was completely unnecessary... the real drama of being isolated in the galaxy is lost.... I'm sorry Bioware about the .... users who forced you to do this....
I like this ending because it's all dramatic, and very cinematic; it holds a lot of movie-like realism, as well. And the Shepard-being-alive bit at the end? That was sweet!
I still kinda believe in the indoctrination theory. Everyone looked pretty evil in the Synthesis ending, and Shepard seemed really creepy/evil in the.... blue ending. Everyone is saying this kicks the theory out, but all it did was add more background... like the original endings, they could just be fooling you, just for a longer period of time.
Just completed it again to see the extended ending. Didn't really add anything that I hadn't already figured happened or would happen.
Great endings BW. I like what you've done. I have gone through all the endings and they looked good before but now they are fcking awesome. So... Thank you for this gift. I let's hope that ME4 will be true. Oh BTW what about ME MMO? I have few free ideas for you if you are interested ;)
btw Lance Henriksen has the best voice on this planet
great job Mr. Lance :D
ok Bioware lets talk ME 4... sand box game OR same as always :P,, maybe a strategy game ;)
@jhonMalcovich dude they have TALI she can can make a space ship from wood and some super glue, also the Normandy MUST have spare parts honestly ... or they can strip the Kodiaks' in the docking bay for parts.....etc its not a stretch
sorry Bioware for calling you names and raging so bad, this ending is good its not as epic as a showdown with Harbinger but its cool
I chose the destroy ending before the extended cut was released, but seeing that the other endings aren't as bad as they seemed at first, I feel kind of bad that I chose Destroy just to save my own ass. Especially in light of the indoctrination theory which seems less plausible now.
Although, what happens to Shepard after it seems he/she is still alive still isn't clear. I actually had anticipated some more content of that.
I can now like the ending now, that I have more explanation of what happen and that my Sheppard lives to see her and his love ones aain
I just love it how people are still bitching! Like come on(not talking about everyone so don't totally cut my throat), seriously though, if you honestly hate these endings plus the original ending(which I thought was genius, like come one no one saw that coming) then don't play the game or the series. The one thing I really wanted was a little more dialogue, and more end cut scenes to see whats going on in the universe. Which they provided, but it does take out the indoctrination theory, which sucks a bit but at least these endings make some improvements on the or original ending which I thought was great but left to many questions.
I gotta admit, I am satisfied. I still hate the god child piece of story, but this is better than before...
The Extended endings provided much better endings and closure. My only concern is how future Mass Effect games will be set (i.e. if they are set after the events of ME3). Which ending will it be based on? I cant imagine having conversations with blue eyed synthetics-organics all the time or the ME universe with reapers in our control.
This is horrible, seriously. All they added were a few slideshow pics and turned the darker ending into a far too lighthearted affair. I actually like the original ending, and don't see how what they added did anything to the game to make the ending better.
Satisfied. A little disappointed that the brilliant indoctrination theory wasn't true, or at least wasn't confirmed as true, but I'm happy with how this cut turned out. This is how the ending should have been done in the first place.
indoctrination theory is better than any ending...
but if I have to chose, I choose every time the destroy ending...
This really grinds my gears: why is this the only ending where Shep lives given that (s)he is part synthetic? Surely the synthesis ending should be the only one where (s)he survives.
@Atalion Collectors were doing what the reapers were doing, turning humans into reapers for the next cycle. they only built one reaper because we destroyed them (duh). The seeker swarms that paralyzed colonies were a Collector technology, and all the Collectors were destroyed at the end of ME2 so the reapers couldnt use it. and no, Reapers dont need mass relays, they existed before/at the same time as the mass relays so why would they. The MR just made their travel faster. Since you destroyed their entry point MR (which was in Batarian space btw, the Alpha Relay, not the one near the Citadel) at the end of ME2, it delayed them by a few years, so it wasnt just "walking in". there is no mass relay inside the Citadel so I have no clue what you're referring to there. I never played ME1 but I've gathered Harbinger the first reaper the galaxy encounters but overall has little impact on the rest of the games except as a harbinger of the impending invasion. the second game the collectors were being controlled by reapers as sort of like a headstart on the reaping so they werent just an enemy to fight off. in the third the reapers were fulfilling the same purpose that was set out in the first game, though the exact purpose wasnt made clear until now. The main reason you dont like it is because you're misunderstanding or completely missing key points of the story. not to say there werent plot holes, they just arent as numerous as you think and none of the ones you stated are accurate
It's not a freaking fairy-tale. Grow up.
They had that last bit in the original end. Its in the indicturn theroy
@quantumtheo Thats the dumbest thing i've ever read! you haven't played the games so your opinion means nothing.
@AutomaticASDAN If I remember correctly, the bathroom are right next to where they're standing in this scene. He was probably out taking a piss.
@Lexicar EDI has a plaque at the top right at the 9:27 mark
@Dreamagus I just nerded, all over the floor when I saw that; it was messy.
@harper90 Another MMO? Those things just got old
@jhonMalcovich Omnigel xD
@blueboxdoctor well then u have the great option of not downloading it and pretending this whole thing never happened
@doometernity @Atalion Woahhhh. so you didn't even play ME1 and you are telling me i didn't get the story?Sorry to break the bubble but the CITADEL is a HUGE MASS RELAY. Sovereign wasn't trying to rape the citadel, he wanted to activate the mass relay inside it. Also, the collectors were CREATED by the reapers by modifying the protheans, and that was reaper technology. Also, not trying to sound mad or anything, but don't go telling people they didn't understand the story or MISSING KEY POINTS OF THE STORY if you didn't even play the first game. The first one was the one that started everything and the one with most of the lore. Not playing the first game is like not playing the series. You could have missed ME2 and you wouldn't have missed much since ME3 completely forgets about everything and everyone from ME2 .Really I don't know if you are trolling me or if you are 12 years old. You can't be serious on sayiing that you got the whole story when you don't even know the beginning
@Atalion I dont have to play the first one to be able to read. I just pointed out stuff from what I've read and my experience in the last two games(and i missed the part about the citadel being a mass relay so sorry). I'm well aware that collectors were modified protheans (and modified is a big difference from created. reapers dont "create" anything), but again, they, along with their technology were mostly destroyed. you dont see seeker swarms in me3 for the same reason you dont see any other collectors, though apparently some were used on Palaven. the main point being there werent enough to be used in force throughout the galaxy.
I never said I got the whole story but i know enough to see stuff that you missed. apart from the ME1 stuff, nothing I said was wrong. You say you know the whole story from playing the first game yet all the incorrect stuff you said was from the other two...clearly there was more important lore in the other two games than you cared to notice.
