Need for Speed: Shift Video Preview
We kick the tires on the bold new direction of Need for Speed in this video preview.
just make mosts wanted 2. great game, sell loads, every bodys happy. they have never made a sim and they dont need to. there are alot beter developers out there doing it. ie forza ect... there still money to be made from street racing just dont dumb down the game play like they have been since most wanted. i like both styes. sadly i bet this is crap. come on EA wake up!
nfs shift is not a bad game , but dirt looks like better after all.but it is good to have a taste from bought...
whatever, DR.PEPPER.. OOPS DR. PINOCCHIO DONT LIE ON YOURSELF THINKING THIS GAME WILL BE GREAT. CATCH YOUR NOSE ITS GROWING split/ second is the BOMB!!
Blaze_Hrimfaxi Posted Sep 9, 2009 12:05 am GMT @hotrider12 You haven't played it retard So don't say it sucks...................................................................................................................... u must not be able 2 see these video's an never played carbon, prostreets, undercover?? to think this will be better. I've been playing need for speed since "the need for speed" very first game FROM 3DO.. up til undercover. its my personal opinion "it is what it is" shift is nothing more than a wanna-be copy of GRID and GT5 wanna-be nothing new or exciting about SHIFT. matter of fact its a remake of dreamcast game RUSH,RUSH,RUSH
"Yeah. It [Shift] actually started out as ProStreet 2. "You'll see the obvious references, like we've got the Tokyo track in there, albeit a bit more mature; there's no balloons or anything like that. The thing with ProStreet was that they couldn't go straight from street racing to a track racer - that would have annoyed a few people. So it was really the first stage of the transition, mixing courses with the street stuff, and this is where they (EA) always wanted it to go. ................................................................................................................................ THOUGHT I SMELLED PROSTREETS IN THIS SH'T ......NO THANKS ONE PROSTREETS WAS ENOUGH
If they revive the same "magic" of hot pursuit 2 and 3(retiring the tuning too),will be great, but i don't wait a great thing about this game. I will wait for Gran Turismo 5 and Dirt 2,playing GRID.
with all the horriable NFS releases lately . Renting it first. It looks like something I would enjoy but if iam buying simulation racing Ill wait for Forza 3. If they would stick to the cop and chases etc.. like Hot Pursuit and High stakes. I would be more involved with the NFS series. Lately its to much crap of the Body Kits Moding Tuning crap, To much accessories can look bad. HINT HINT> I have been fooled to many times by the NFS games with there flashing previews and flashy effects but its never made the experience last on me.
well..i think that the so called "NEED FOR SPEED" series..should be called "NEED TO STOP PRODUCING BAD GAMES"from now on..simulation style is made for grand turismo and forza..they're the kings of simulation..need for speed always have been the king of customization, street racing, high details, best car list..so plz EA focus on old-school games..bring back the underground 2 with a new game engine and physix please..its for ur own good..it WILL boost ur sellings(actually thats what ea only cares about since 2005:)
I hope you can turn those annoying road arrows off :D (Yes, sounds like obvious thing, but EA isn't the smartest developers around..)
@ dreadedsniper dude thats what I dont like about shift to much damn crashing. its not like underground or hotpursuit 2
@kungenAA In Forza2 you have the option to turn off the recommended driving path(arrows). If you wish so i assume they will let you do the same in shift, and crash all you want.
For me, I hope that NFS can make a sequel to Underground with better storyline, new tracks, and a cutting edge game design and quality not just for the sake of making money.
@ dannybeast1 If you watch the interview about this game they said that the fans of NFS have grown up so much so with their skills on street racing. They have level up to a more disciplined style of driving with out bashing their cars with their opponent just to win the race. But you're right that their style is same with other driving game. So it's just a matter of sticking with racing games that will suit your striving skills not just with awesome graphics.
This game looks awesome but I wish nfs would stay with street racing style. I think thats how they got to where they r now so what makes them think that switching styles is better.
I totally agree with jp_b10. The street aspect of the previous releases was the core and essence of the games. Now it's become rather boring? I'd say they should remove the annoying stupid arrows from the road and instead offer the gamers some more hardcore dirty racing. Though I like the graphics, I'm not too excited to buy this game.
well dont forget the first NFS games were all about street racing simulation, with cockpit view and what not. BUT, i wish they would stick to street racing aspect and not so much the GT style. NFS should go back to its roots - toss out the tuners - bring back the simulation - AND bring Ferrari back while they're at it.
yeah i agree with u hotrider12 , ur right i love all Nfs underground including mostwanted but now NFS is close to Rest in peace. This game is an epicccccccccccccccc fail........... I need Need for speed underground with new game engine and cool gameplay , hot pursuit ,more cars and more realism . not this cheap mix of arcade and simulation based NFS.
jovipman Posted Sep 3, 2009 9:08 pm GMT After Hot Pursuit 2 it stopped being need for speed it become need for cash NOW THATS A VERY TRUE STATEMENT BUBBLES FOR U JOVIPMAN
NFS:Sh*t LOL this looks a lot like grid & forza. It might be a good simulation but it's definitely not what the NFS series is about. I am really disappointed of what they've produced since Most Wanted. For me the best NFS games are:Underground,Underground 2 & Most Wanted,................................................ U LEFT OUT HOTPURSUIT 2, HIGHSTAKES, THE NEED FOR SPEED, PORSCHE UNLEASHED, HOTPURSUIT ALL THESE HAS COPS IN THEM.
i agree fushionrain.. NFS is about styling your cars and tearing the city upside down.. IMO.. Nfs shift is to much like GT or Grid.. *thumbs down*
DUde this what im loooking 4 no stupid 14 year old kid that keep crashing me..... this is real.. no bullcrap crashing but normal riding
i see the "feel of speed" but this game looks so much like GT it throws me off... but then again thats not a bad thing and the "feel of speed" may be enough to hold of till GT and it could beat it for me but i know GT will have way more cars and addiction lvl
its like gran turismo, the driving line, n how the speed n gear is on the side like GT.etc. excpet its called NFS
They should have killed off the NFS franchise, and named Shift something else so that you whiners would shut up that this isn't what NFS is about... this is the way forwards...
@pilot_riaz
@tonediary83 - Graphics look similar to Grid yes because it is using the same game engine as Grid. The previous game previews mention this.
. Sorry, but again not true, This game is not using an engine created by Codemasters (EGO). Game/physics engine is developped by Slightly Mad Studios. (http://www.slightlymadstudios.com/)
@jovipman ...i agree with you slightly ,i mean i was addicted to the orignal, you could tell it would go this way affter pro street, thing been we still play them, ill buy it,finish it and trade it in if its not any good, then again i hated forza, not really a driving fan
NFS:Sh*t LOL this looks a lot like grid & forza. It might be a good simulation but it's definitely not what the NFS series is about. I am really disappointed of what they've produced since Most Wanted. For me the best NFS games are:Underground,Underground 2 & Most Wanted, i hope they make something similar to those one day...
It is like GRID but with more white tone. I hope there is tuning feature in this game. Man I miss Hot Pursuit 2!
No doubt it looks very good, but Need for Speed is supposed to be a street racing game. It's turning in Gran Turismo/Forza Motorsport. Not that it's a bad thing, but it's changing it's genre.
I agree that EA have been using the series as a cash in, but still they have a new developer on this game and maybe, just maybe, they will actually make a good game every time round.
yeah well great can't wait for EA money-milkers to come up with generic Shift 2 and Shift 3... seriously, if they didn't make their programmers churn a Shift 2 in a year I'll buy Shift 1... About advertising, it doesn't look annoying at all, the only time it would be annoying in my humble opinion is if my games get interrupted mid-gameplay for an "Advertisement Break"! ... oh no, why did I say that? please no one do that, I'll change to the plumbing industry if it happened you have my word on it...
I WISH, I BEG that it is as technical as they say it is. I am a GTR fan so as long as its a sim... I'm sold. And do people really care about adverts???
@pilot_riaz yeah but what i actually meant there was the two being similar in gameplay wise.. as both of them are %50 simulation %50 arcade...
lol I think the makers of the game are trolling and putting a thumbs down to anyone who says they don't like it or disagree with what he said...
haha and what ,you think forzas original????,dont get me worng its a wicked game, buts its not original, every game can be compared to another in one way or another
i dont care what games they are copying it looks pretty good and that aggressive or precise gamer profile for online is a brilliant idea!!!
one thing really missing from games that feature damage that after the race after you damaged your car you don’t pay for repairs and even enter the next race with a new car. this makes damaging your car with no consequences.
