Need for Speed: Shift Road America Guide Video
Here is a turn-by-turn guide for Road America in need for Speed: Shift!
"Yeah. It [Shift] actually started out as ProStreet 2. "You'll see the obvious references, like we've got the Tokyo track in there, albeit a bit more mature; there's no balloons or anything like that. The thing with ProStreet was that they couldn't go straight from street racing to a track racer - that would have annoyed a few people. So it was really the first stage of the transition, mixing courses with the street stuff, and this is where they (EA) always wanted it to go.............................................................................................................................. THOUGHT I SMELLED PROSTREETS IN THIS SH'T
thats no more need for speed lol... we need something like underground 1 2 that was awesome rlly or carboon but not like this just race kind of sh1t
10 more days before we find out for sure its worth anything. my bet it'll be like prostreets all hype no substance.
@ excedra WAIT!!!!! dude dont give up just yet criterion is making the next nfs AFTER THIS... have a feeling it'll be hotpursuit 3 or high stakes 2 somewhere along that line of series with cops.
cool trailer, hope the game delivers well, ive been let down by man nfs games, especially by undercover and prostreet, but im giving them one last chance, or ill never buy anything nfs ever again.
Again this just looks like you just race around tracks like Nascar. I like Street racing which means racing in streets.
I have looked forward to Dirt 2 since hearing about it, but after trying the demo, I thought it was alright. I was strangely put off to the point where I think I'd rather spring the $60 for this. NFS Shift looks good and interesting, with some educational content as well; explaining the tracks and strategies, which gives good content to it all. Lots of people sneer at GRID, but I thought it was a beautifully made game - dramatic camera angles and nerve-wracking. I don't think Dirt 2 and this can be compared - apples and oranges. The realism approach in NFS I'm all for, and the profile development. Looks good!
finally! a cockpit cam! and about the game... it looks great, I still dont think its gonna beat DiRT 2, but at least it will be better than the last 2 NFS's...
Great game, weird trailer atleast wait with the walkthrough till' after the game has been released. Gives you a great insight on all the details though. Can't wait to hear more
Awesome track, Road America. I only live a couple of miles away from it in Wisconsin. But, i'll be getting Forza Motorsport 3 instead of this for a simulation racing game, and I already have Midnight Club: Los Angeles for an arcade racing game, so what does Shift offer that others games don't?
I know on other nfs posting I've been bashing this game reason why, I dont like all the unnessasary crashing. but I feel like shift is growing on me now. wont be better than underground or hotpursuit2 but glad its better than prostreets an undercover.
If this plays as well as it looks - we're in for a good race! I just tried the CM Dirt 2 Demo and it just didn't 'feel' right :( so hoping this will fill a void. Looks so promising and loved the Need for speed series but maybe this is just a little too technical though :(
I'm actually REALLY excited about this! I think this will be awesome game no doubt. With G25 wheel ofcourse, which I haven't used in a while. NFS reborn ftw.
I usually play racing games in the third person camera which helps me see the view around me. But this makes me want to play racing games in the cockpit view just the way they're meant to be played. I guess I am going to get this one (never mind the similarities with GRID).
Guys, STOP comparing with GT or Forza, other interviews declare that it is not a sim nor an arcade racer, it's a mix between. I definitely will check this one out !!
It's interesting when a game takes on a completely new road. I don't feel we need yet another sim racer and I think that whoever tries to take people away from Forza 3 or GT5 will simply miserably fail; I doubt this is EA's target. There are ways to make a game different, innovative and fun and I'll be waiting to see if these guys nail any of those.
i love nfs since the ps1, played so many i forget which ones. my favorites were hot pursuit 2, underground 2, and most wanted. prostreet was probably the worst nfs ive ever played. carbon did nothing better than most wanted, and undercover didn't either. most wanted is better than both of those. this game looks to be shaping up to be what prostreet should;ve been...i think EA has learned that it's gotta choose...either one or the other, street racing or sim based. prostreet tried to be both although more towards arcade style, and failed. this is more toward sim style but i don't think it's quite as much of a sim as forza or gt. to be honest, this game will be decent for those who are intrigued by sim but not ready for sims just yet, similarly to grid. its along the same lines of pgr, but more toward sim. it could be good, but im gonna get forza 3 over this hands down. prob wont bother with this. im waiting for nfs to go back to the hot pursuit series. to be honest, the open world racing thing is sort of overdone now. hot puruist was so many great races in a huge network, it worked perfectly. throw in the cops from most wanted, the graphics of this game, and some customization, and you've got yourself a great game. but like i said, this is what i think prostreet shouldve been so hopefully it will be decent and not a total let down. but to me, this just isnt nfs.
i haved played need for speed and have beatin everyone since it first came out on playstation one.... the best ones where "high stakes", underground two, most wanted with all the customizations... will see if this will live up too its title... cause the last two have been a crap and thats sad for me to say...
this game sucks!!!! I thought EA learned their mistake when pro street came out but i guess i was wrong nfs was my favourite cars game but mid night is much much better than this?!?!?
@Kyran87, I can honestly say that i am a hardcore sim racer, but i would gladly take Midnight Club over any NFS game anyday. Great cars, great racing, great custimization, and great cop chases.
I always like to demo the 'Sim' racers to see how hard they made the difficulty. This game looks nice though.
