@paladinjedi I gotta disagree with you, graphics and facial animations don't make a game playable, and many of my favorite games of all time have those things you listed off. Final Fantasy 9 which is my fave RPG ever doesn't have character creation, doesn't have moral choices or romance or ethics etc etc. But it had a great story and great characters and kept me hooked for a looooong time.
It is good to see developers putting a solid emphasis on game mechanics and faces-mimics and sounds. Those are very important for any game that wants to be playable. Still, these alone do not make a great RPG. What about the features that will surely distinguish, in the near future, the top notch RPG-s from the ever 'promising potential' hack'n slashes? 1. Character creation, customization 2. Good, solid main character/npc personality, strong related to mimics and full voice acting 3. Nicely introduced cinematics that keep the story flowing 4. Ethics system (light side/dark side based, but on a more complex level) 5. Moral choices 6. Companion influence/romance 7. Alternate endings 8. Easy to grasp, very intuitive overall game interface And so on. I only hope somebody with enough elaborate developing passion reads through these comments and catches something... :) All gaming world (and not only) would benefit...
@darklord2160 Alright thanks and I have to play it on my 360 cause my PC is terrible and I do not have the cash to buy one or even to go some where to build one and plus it is going to be hard to get this game with The Witcher 2: Assassin's of Kings come's out in the same month for me.
@kennythomas26 risen 1 will be 1 of the best rpg u ever played, if u can forgive its combat system.oh, and i must play it on pc, because the xbox360 version is terrible, a totally diffirent experience.
I wanna to get this game but is the first one any good, because I like to play the first game in a series before I play their sequels like I did with every game series.
Looks really great and I think the developers are really talented and deserve some more popularity for these games.
