@drummerdickens There is a general tendency about bashing every DLC that a company releases, that was what I was criticising, it was quite easy to notice I must add. You have your right to say whatever you want, I have my right to say that I disagree. Or shall I stop reading coment because I MAY disagree with some of you?. Apply that lesson to yourself too.
He seems cool but sadly hes just noob/ermac + smoke :/. Still looking forward to the water moves though
I really hope The last character in this first(so called) character pack happens to be SHINNOK!!!!!!! I love to play as sorceror(Type) combantants because they're challenging as you have to be very time worthy to pull off, aka shang tsung, most ppl can't get off his 14 hit up rising fireball muchless an 8 hit regular combo with some form of fireball in it lol... so I hope they have character packs(5 fighters each pack) for each MK game after MK3 all the way up to the one before MK vs DC, and I tell you, just like the mk game that had well up to 70 combantants, I see this game being a VERY popular pick and game of the year oriented if they do so like this, I mean a character being launched in this pack every 2 weeks IS GREAT! I've bought em all and plan on buying every other one, even if I don't like them, because i play as everyone as I have no love hate over any fighter as i respect them as they are for being apart of my childhood and now grown up and see them still kicking ass with up to date technology!!! SHINNOK!!! SHINNOK!!!
Cant wait to do Skarletts let it RAIN fatalitie on this new fighter, then we will see if he really rains or not muhhhhh.
First, how many Sub-Zero/Scorpion knock offs do they plan on making? Second, almost every move is a rip off of both those toons. The water bubble, the drop into water and reappear behind move, the ability to use a water bubble to yank your opponent closer to you. All of those seem like blatant rip offs.
@dstv Yeah, I read the comment, it had my name in it and showed up in my inbox, smartguy.... Anyways, there is a DLC PACKAGE that has ALL the characters in it. Even if you already bought the game, you dont HAVE to download every character seperatly like most of these people think....
w00tw00t whos ready to fork out $5 more for a character that could and should have been released with the last character.
seriously who cares for new fighters. first thing's first, fix the online play! it's incredible that online play was realesed as broken as it has. but it's a spit in the face that 3 updates later it's still in the same miserable state.
I was considering downloading Kenshi but maybe I'll wait for Rain. In fact, both characters look to be a lot of fun... Love Mortal Kombat!!
@Warlord_Irochi Saying "Noone is forcing you to buy the DLC" is the biggest non argument ever. Obviously we're not being forced to buy it. Why even say that? As consumers its our right to say "That is a crappy deal". It's how markets work. It's how comment sections work too. If you don't like the fact that people are calling developers on their ridiculous pricing then you either need to learn the value of money or stop reading comments of your fellow gamers.
LoL, MK has more DLC then crappy Marvel vs Capcom part 3, where I heard an ugly rumor that the only 2 DLC characters are "already" installed on the disk, but Capcom wants you to pay to unlock those 2.
@ nurjra If you look closely at the back ground of the Pit stage, you'll notice characters fighting. So far, I've noticed Kenshi, Frost, and possibly Sareena (from MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero) and a fourth unknown character that I've never seen before. He is bald and is wearing a black and red outfit that has some kind of elastic and long skirt/kilt thing. I may be mistaken, but I think I remember Ed Boon saying that the fourth character would be a new one no one has seen before. EDIT: actually, after a quick Google, I found that the bald man is actually Daigon. Also seen is Reiko; Sareena has been confirmed by screen grabs.
I'm honestly surprised they put the mind control orb and super roundhouse as his moves again. Those moves made rain nearly unbeatable back in the day. Regardless I'm stoked to use him!
@BlackaliciousX Of course we all use hyperbole. Still, people talk about DLC and badmouth good companies who actually try to give us extra content. Yes, the new characters are a little pricey when compared to the the number of characters in the game and the price of the game out the box, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't buy them. After all, we do have a choice on what DLC we should spend our money on, and while I'll be the first to admit that DLC is a little more costly than I feel is necessary, I'm going to support the devs by buying the content I want as long as the price isn't too ridiculous. After all, they're trying by giving out free costumes and things too. The people who I'm talking about that continuously badmouth some dev companies are the ones who talk about receiving an incomplete product and then claiming the company releases the final bits to cash in extra profit. Do you at all consider Mortal Kombat to be an incomplete game? Just because you feel entitled to characters that are largely unimportant to the story, does that give you the right to claim that NRS pumped out an incomplete game and that they released these characters simply to cash in on us? I disagree completely. This game can stand completely alone on its own without any of these DLC fighters, and if they never existed no one would ever dare claim Mortal Kombat is incomplete.
@Anakin992 Most people speak in hyperbole, looks like yourself included. I don't think most think DLC is the bane of our video gamer existence, it is just disappointing as a gamer to feel that post game production, our money for DLC isn't going as far as one would expect as a consumer. Take the current MK as a good example. You have a 28 character roster with a coherent storyline and additional play elements to boot for 60$ new. Post game production, we the gamers are faced to pay 5$ per character. At a mere 12 characters you are paying for the game 2x over with no additional storyline elements or game stages... If I really like MK I would want to continue playing and support the company by buying all the new characters, but would feel a little used by the premium markup. At least let me try out the new characters on a rotating basis (see League of Legends for a good example) before I have to buy them. Don't get me wrong I love some DLC. I will be the first to admit that I bought all the Borderlands DLC as soon as they came out. That game was amazing and the content, with one exception, was well worth my $. However, I feel most game companies are not providing me with the bang for my buck. Most likely many others feel the same way I do, hence our collective soap boxes.
To everyone who claims DLC is the bane of existence, there is already a plethora of good users posting in here as to why that isn't true, using Street Fighter as an example, and I totally agree. For anyone claiming this game wasn't complete, the roster of 28 fighters from jump begs to differ. For anyone who claims Rain is just like Sub Zero, you obviously don't know jack sh*t about Sub Zero. And this one isn't meant to be insulting, but for everyone who wanted to know why Rain wasn't in this game from the start: its because he WASN'T in the original trilogy... he was just added in the game MK Trilogy to be playable after being super-secret-hidden in UMK3... but he wasn't playable until Trilogy, and this game really takes MK1-MK2-UMK3, and Rain doesn't necessarily fit into that category. They decided to add him to this game now because they poll'd, and realized that while he has only been in 2 Mortal Kombat games prior to this one, that he's a fan favorite. And I think he looks pretty decent. I hope he has some nice combos to round off his moveset.
@grim0187 did you even read the comment i was replying to? ....he said that there's a version of the game that comes with all the character ....i already have the game and i dont want to spend any more money on dlc
people are going to pay money for a purple sub-zero? IMO this is what people payed for when they bought the original game.
