Ahh, japanese and their fetish with blonde blue eyed aryans. Blonde sandinistas? Sure most latinos look like that. especially the oppressed nicaraguans that revolted lol.
i think by multiple zeroes or epicenters the focus will be on multiple snakes? at the end of msg4 you find out about major zero and his plan and maybe his plan started with the cloning of big boss? multiple clones so it starts from ground zero more than once?
maybe the snake we see its solid snake and the kid is raiden , if you take the XOF as mirror effect maybe the eyepatch its actually in his left eye...
There's a point when the camera moves forward through a soldier standing in front of it, so I'm pretty sure it's not actually from someone's perspective, I think it's just because it looks cool.
Most of the people saying this is next gen are most likely xbox users ive seen graphics like this on ps3 before there called exclusive's ;o)
Just a notice to everyone:
The timeline DOES make sense, the game is set pretty close to PW, Chico is the kid.
Big Boss does NOT have grey hair, Kojima confirmed. What you saw was a result of a lightning rim.
This was a screw-up in the demo.
Let's talk reality; what's matter is the game play if they will make it the same way as MGS4 when you control the machine gun above the tank and when you entering the war zone at the beginning of the game and passes through the soldiers and nobody cares that you are there and the bosses was sucks, I felt like playing call of duty
There is a hundred games of call of duty style, I'm a MGS fan from the begging who played MGS 1, 2 & 3. I want to feel drama in the game walkthrough and to feel the slow boring (stealth missions) MGS was a game which you will not experienced elsewhere one of the kind who drove you to finish it dozen of time to experience the story again and again.
SOO big boss was 39 in peace walker and Chico was 12. in this game he looks upwards of 50 which would make chico at least 23. unless big boss is subject to increased aging. and we all know thats not true.
The kid in the cell is Chico from PW, BTW.
The narrator at the PAX live show confirmed it with Hideo.
Hmm, I didn't get the impression there was more than one girl being referenced in this demo. I was thinking the girl Mr. Deep Fried said didn't suffer long might have been Paz, with Snake simply not rescuing her in time. // I hadn't considered that there might be multiple protagonists. It would be interesting to see that if this game is leading directly into Solid Snake's story. Personally I'd quite like to see Grey Fox make an appearance.
I loved this video! I like following you around the gamespot offices and just running into Caro and Shaun and Tom.
I really liked this video- you guys should do more "around-the-office" style opinion pieces. They're a good way to capture some varied perspectives on a story. Icing on the cake that the story in question was Metal Gear (for me at least).
"Peace Walker is on Xbox. You can play it on PS3 as well" Ummm..............yeah............yeah you can. Idiot.
loved the vid. ABSOLUTELY HATE when people end thier stupid sentences with an upward inflection. OMFG!!!!!!!
Good point about seeing everything from perspective of someone. If we assume it to be FP View of a character, then has to be someone young as camera is set really low. As for multiple Snakes, could work. Each one a [eventually failed] clone as part of Les Enfant Terribles project. So, each one is not really snake but a snake reject.
Great video. It is always nice to see what other people take away from a video, especially one as cryptic as this.
@TopGunnas it is, i jus recently picked it up nd after seeing this trailer i see that ground zeroestakes place right after peace walker so im glad i got to play through that story
@TopGunnas Oh, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I too need to pick it up so that I can run through the series again before GZ comes out.
@supa_stud *They're* called exclusives. It not "there".
As a PC Gamer, I can tell you that even I found the visuals to be impressive for the capabilities of consoles that are 6 years old.
@RyuRanVII Wait, are you saying that the Playstation is foreign architecture for MGS (and therefore PC is native), or are you asserting that this game will only work on next-gen stuff?
Not flaming or trolling, I promise lol. I don't see any reason why the graphics we saw in the trailer can't be achieved this generation, especially on PC. Obviously the consoles wont be able to achieve the same kind of graphical quality, but to say it will be "butchered" is a shrill exaggeration. Yes this console generation is nearly "over the hill," but there still hasn't been a game to date that has used the full potential of either system.
All I'm saying is, don't draw any harsh conclusions just yet. Hideo Kojima is the one person in the game industry that has my unconditional trust. He hasn't let me down yet.
@kim_80 Ubisoft already killed the real Sam Fisher. Whoever this chump is that's filling his shoes now, he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell against Snake.
So angry with them for turning Splinter Cell into a cheesy action shooter. I really liked the old days when you had to be extremely quiet and patient and slow. Damn generation of kids all jacked up on bath salts! I blame you for making Ubisoft feel like they had to do this.
@spedinc This bugs me alot too.
The kid is Chico, but the timeline makes no sense.
@fatelementality Chill out. This is clearly just them talking on the spot. He had to mention one console before the other, xbox just came to his mind first. Why is he an idiot?
@slvrraven9 Pretty much everyone in this video did it as well.
@incubus25 He does, looks like a slightly younger Rooster Cogburn.
@radprofile it would be nice to add a little variation but it still needs to fit MGS. for some reason I dont see Snake throwing a flying knee into an enemy But maybe add more Krav Maga moves and more variations of Judo throws then they usually have would be cool.
@TohouAsura yeah. ive been trying to reason.
@capper64 Metal Gear and PS kinda go hand in hand since waaay back. Do you realize the only Metal Gear game that had graced the Xbox befiore the HD collection came out was MGS2? That's it. I think Microsoft is just buying their way to the franchise like they do with everything else. It's like saying Splinter Cell is on PS3......and oh yeah, you can find it on Xbox. Don't even tell me for a second that Gamespot isn't biased towards Microsoft. That's fine with me because they still cover PS3 news. Why do you question my opinion like you're going to influence it? The pure fact that you did question it means that you were uncertain of your own opinion. Well, now you have it. Happy?
@Omaciel True, in a way, but it's annoying that you often see cinematic scenes about snakes do cool stuff, and when you play, you throw two punches and a low kick...
@spedinc It could be Big Boss's exposure to radiation back in the Virtuous Mission has affected his aging, but that should also make him infertile.
This is truly screwed up, I mean, even Kojima himself has pure black hair, and he's nearly 50.
I could not believe that Big Boss was only 39 in PW, he looked ALOT older.
@fatelementality My point isn't that Xbox is the primary console for Metal Gear, I was just saying that you were a bit quick to call this guy an idiot, when all he did was mention that peace walker is now playable on xbox, before mentioning that its available on PS3.
The guy probably played peace walker on xbox, not PS3, so it came to his mind earlier. After all, they're all just gamers too, so in a casual piece like this that probably wasn't planned out and scripted before hand they might make slip ups, which is why his wording wasn't perfect in the example we're talking about.
It doesn't matter where Metal Gear was first found (cough, Nintendo), he was talking specifically about the HD collection, which IS playable on xbox, and on the playstation 3, and both were released at the exact same time.
