Metro: Last Light E3 2012 Stage Demo
Chris Watters shows off some new gameplay from Metro: Last Light at E3 2012.
2033 was good i felt drawn into the world for the first quarter to maybe half the game and then kinda lost that feeling for the rest. I think this next one will be even better. supplies where to abundant for me maybe should of played on hard only used military grade ammo once in game to buy one gun never used it afterwards hmm again may have ben alot different on hard shoiuld have researched that first i guess before playing
the old watch was better, but still, the game looks awesome and I can't wait to get it (if my computers runs it)!
so far for me, with the exception of borderlands2, this game and alien: colonial marines are the games that have me the most excited..
this game brings back the true feeling of the old first person shooters, the journey, the horror, the survival... in the present the fps games represents just shooters, shoot shoot shoot all you do is aim and shoot, and move to the next cutscene.
Well, the first one wasn't great, but it didn't sucked either. I didn't liked the story (most because of the ending, both of them...), the stealth was broken and there were some annoying moments. But it was a pretty decent FPS, it wasn't as derivative as most, the feeling of conserving ammo was something that i wanted to see for quite a while...
I don't know what to make of this yet. Better wait for the real release.
The FPS games needs some savior to their canned animations, like the third persons view had with euphoria.
the 1st one grew on me so much. I rented it, but after a few days i had to get every single achievement, i loved it so much. Great story telling, easter eggs, and atmosphere! im excited to see how this one is going :)
Loved 2033. Can't wait for this. Looks like it's going to be really good. I do hope the story is good though. The story for the first one was very well done. I wasn't expecting much from the original game and was really surprised by how much it sucked me in. The game world was so detailed and the combat was frantic and stressful with limited supplies and that kept it challenging all the way through. I'm really looking forward to giving this game world another visit.
This looks great. I have Metro 2033 sitting on my shelf unopened. I will play it and then get this one day one!!!! Can't wait.
Man. I knew it would look great but this exceeds my expectations! As was mentioned by a few others, the attention to detail is astounding. Esp love the added gameplay element of having to wipe the mask clean and all the little environmental debris, the hidden spiders, all adding to that very rich, deep atmosphere that was so palpable in the first game. Want this one now!
The first game was very frustrating-- I hated the clipping on the monsters, the way they jumped "through" you so you had to spin wildly to figure out where the enemy was. Didn't appreciate finding out it was possible to kill those gargoyle things until after I finished the game, they seemed pretty invincible to me and any time I tried to shoot them my screen would jar wildly as I was slashed repeatedly from the air, again not sure where I was being attacked from. Also: the ending was lame, and there was this morality system underlining the whole thing that didn't seem to make any sense. I played the game as ethically as I could and still got a pretty crap ending.
Why does everyone call this game 'Russian'? Metro AND Stalker were released by Ukrainian developers, a different country.
This is one of the most (if not THE most) graphically impressive games of E3, alongside Crysis 3. The game engine fur Metro can give CryEngine 3 a run for its money.
I found the last one a little boring, there's only so many rat dogs I can shoot plus it wasn't the best looking game, this one seems a slight improvement but nothing to write home about
I think Beynon's been working on this game for too long: his sense of humour sucks. And he looks like a hobbit. But anyway: I WANT THIS GAME! Those flamethrowers are the best I've ever seen in a game. And as for his answer to the moral choice question: THANK YOU! Someone gets it. Sign posting that a decision needs to be made does not expose the morality of the player. I'm looking at you Mass Effect.
@KaranDesai Sorry to dissapoint, STALKER 2 was killed along with the team that was working on it.. Yeah, life aint worth living anymore. :(
@franci17 What old FPSes did you play? They were all nothing BUT "shoot shoot shoot". Half-life is what brought in the more modern-style FPS with a complex story and scripted sequences and so forth.
@franci17 ummmm some of those "old" fps games you mention were shoot shoot shoot with NO story or cutscenes or anything really. there was no journey, no real horror and no sense of survival. i don't remember anything about doom or quake other than blowing up demons with cool guns. and back then the SEQUELS were just more levels, and maybe one or 2 new enemies and a new gun (quake 2 was actually a lot different). the first "first person" game i played that offered VERY different gameplay was Thief, and then you had things like Deus Ex and Morrowind, and they weren't really shooters. I'm really racking my brain here and the only real "old FPS" that meets your description is Half-Life but come on, when has ANYTHING been like Half-Life
@Gelugon_baat its based on a novel thats the marketing premise.
@wavelength121 "and there was this morality system underlining the whole thing that didn't seem to make any sense"
That's because it wasn't strictly a morality system. The point was for the player to be enlightened (enlightened = less likely to attack someone who's different on sight). Simply doing what seems to be the "good" thing to do wouldn't get you the enlightened ending, you had to experience the world, and patiently understand it.
@wavelength121 i am here to write the same problem with the first game & found that u have already written that probably better than me,that game has one of the most frustrating combat i've ever played,i didn't even complete it because of that stupid monster AI,that was not challenging that was cheap frustrating
@Sardinar it takes place in moscow metro... did you even play the first game?
@Sardinar Because most people at Gamespot are American and you know how the education system is over there. Some probably didn't even know that Ukraine exists until now. lol
@Sardinar not for long...
@ChiefFreeman yeah the first one was a monster too
@LetoZeth Damn! I just found out thanks for the heads up.... I thought its still up after looking at some Stalker 2 artwork uploaded recently by Stalker Official FB page. But I believe they are involved with another development called Survarium.
@jariullah Wow, thanks, nothing confusing about that.
@Gelugon_baat you must be a sad person.
