Metro 2033 Video Preview
GameSpot AU's Crosshairs discusses a recent hands-on with Russian postapocalyptic shooter Metro 2033.
i love the novel and i love bioshock and i love fallout 3. what can go wrong. hell i even love stalker and i have a crapy pc.
Is this game really due in 3 weeks? I've heard so little about it, and it really peeks my interest because I've always enjoyed a good, apocalyptic future. Hope this turns out as good as my expectations are right now.
I know a Russian word that she should know - Kalashnikov (Developer/designer and name of a specific weapon I'm almost positive will be presented in this game, look it up). As for Metro 2033, it's looking deep, dark and engaging... everything to love in a FPS game, any game in my case. I've been waiting for a survival horror like this for quite some time. The atmosphere alone is making me drool, not to mention the absence of a HUD. I'm definitely going to need this gem of a game. Even more than oxygen itself. :)
Fallout 3 and Bioshock, WTF. How bought mentioning stalker as half the development came from GSC game world
This game certainly looks great in the visuals department with decent animation too. From what we've seen the developers also have a keen eye for environment detail and believability. I do hope however that all this hard work on the visuals and setting will not be messed up due to cheesy voice acting and poorly written dialogue. If you look at Stalker beyond the hideous bugs, environmental attention to detail and visual quality was also good, but the actual story and character dialogue was quite bad, as though written by a 17 year old sc-fi writer wannabee. Let's hope Metro will not suffer from equally cheesy narrative or poor localisation / translation effort.
THQ is that guys who made STALKER shadow of chernobyl great game, this is gone be cool...i can t wait for this
i agree, metro reminds me of what stalker and fallout gave me, also adds a bit of witcher to it :) mmmmmmm i love stuff like this, now if you could create earth as a ice world that would be cool and no not like lost planet more like stalker meets pluto on earth :D
I'm very excited about this game. Outside of Alan Wake and RAGE, this is what I'm most looking forward to next.
was going to get fallout goty edition next week for my bday.but this is looking very good man.think it hits stores on the 19th of march.
woo fkn hoo another linear shooter based in russia...zzzz the chick on the show needs to show more skin
I cannot wait for this game to be released! I love post-apocalyptic movies/games. It looks well-made.
as long as the metro system isn't like fallout 3 where it was a copy and paste and a loading screen every time you go to a different section i think it'll be great
I really like that they have gone with the Dead Space'esque "no h.u.d" option. Lends to a far more immersive experience. I am actually really looking forward to this game now that I've got to know more of it's background
i don't think i like this formula ... watching people sitting down talking about what they saw or what we've read hundred of times. What the boy and the girl on the right were there for again ?? and the host still using the "next gen" expression, disappointing. it looks silly for something that tries to be serious.
Really good looking game, loved stalkers story line and setting. This looks to be about the same. Can't stand idiots thinking one of the more popular games, in the same kind of setting is always the first
It looks interesting...a bit dark and might not sell well just because the more casual player will/should avoid it. For some reason this looks more like what Hellgate "should" have been. For those of you calling on Fallout to be this games inspiration, you should be aware that Fallout was not the first Post-Apocalyptic game. While I am not saying that Fallout has not re-popularized the genre, you should take a look at Wasteland.
