New MechWarrier awesomeness!
Did you enjoy this video?
OMG! it's first person! YESH!
more a sp game if you ask me
A lot of effort went into making this and it's a shame the game, in this form, won't be made any longer.
Alternatively, you could say he's fighting the Atlas from the new Mechwarrior Online trailer. XD
Mechwarrior living legends... that will do for now.
@SiniStar121 I don't think this has EVERYTHING customable...Just look at the way they fight. The robot moves VERY slow and It the only thing it does is STAND AND SHOOT. It is not as agile as the Armored Core Robots....The CG is nice but the gameplay is kinda boring
This game better have EVERYTHING customizable... take notes from Armored Core if you have to. This game had better be good regardless.
Hey, this trailer was released in 2009. It's now 2012 and I haven't seen anymore updates. When will this game be released? What's the status?
I'm not big on mech games but this looks bada$$ and if it sees the light of day I might check this game out.
seeing this trailer just upsets me that this game will never be. and is turned into a soon to be F2P game where the graphics will never look this good :-(
Mechwarrior 2 was an AWESOME game, and this looks great. Can't wait!
Hopefully they bang this out quick so they can start a Shadowrun project.
"the game play looks slug-ish"
If it's a hardcore sim, which it had better be, then it will seem "sluggish" to those who just want to run and gun. If it is just a run and gun ADD fest then this game will suck.
The last time I played multiplayer is on Mechwarrior 4. I would love to play online again on this one. ^^
The graphics look hot, the game play looks slug-ish.
if you want the news go to the official website http://mwomercs.com/ yesterday they announced mechwarrior online
i love the idea of being like a mecha-godzilla with rockets and machine guns coming out of your @$$ and the graphics are pretty impresive with all the details in the buildings and stuff but the sfx could use a lot of work
Small correction, not streaks. Wrong time frame at 3015, streaks would still be lostech at that point. So standard Srm6s then.
Apparently Harmony Gold was pitching a fit again about the Unseen.
That twitter account mentioned by 50PenceGoku is sending out component pictures of a Mech.
Most likely tied in to the whole announcement thing they're going to make.
Based on what's visible, I'd have to say it's probably a redesigned Atlas*. Just to get HG off of their backs, and having to redo all the artwork and related material would've probably set them back quite a bit. Hence the 2y gap.
*: Only mechs I know of that have a side torso gun like that, are the Awesome, the Atlas and some versions of the Cyclops.
But the Awesome doesn't have hand actuators, and the torso doesn't match the Cyclops much, nor is the still shrouded head big enough for it to be the Cyclops. Plus the arms do look a lot like those on the standard Atlas. Means that the vertical srm6 racks (streaks?) have instead been placed in a more horizontal position on the shoulders.
Iirc, they did the same with Redesigned Warhammer in the boardgame.
ok guys, it's been over 2 years since this trailer was released. When can we expect the game to be released? I'm hoping by 2012...please.
You guys need to go to (http://twitter.com/#!/InnerSphereNews) and follow, because the guys at Piranha are gearing up for an announcement.
please, please, please finish this.
Chromehounds dook stains all over this.
@thetomato13...you are right about your reaction to an atlas jumping ya...my first thought when the smoke cleared was "OH *&^&!!!!". Ive been in that situation before and that video just had me have one of those old time war flashbacks where i was tempted to crawl under the computer desk in a fetal position.
Probably you never played the Mech series before so that you can say such things. The very first Mech warrior game that came out in 1989, and it's the very first game in line of the Battle Tech series, which own the designed for the mechs in this game. And beside, I don't think that there any problem in lawsuits with the Japanese mech frachise because they do not look the same, and beside, the Mech Warrior has had many version released on PC, and later on PS2 plus the Mech Commanders series on PC also, so i don't think it's because the the lawsuit problem, but rather they couldn't find any game publisher to sponsored so that they can continue on the working of this game. It sad for me because the Mech Warrior series is the only games that portrait robots as a heavy war machines, rather than most of the Japanese robots , which look more like ninja than robots because of their flexibility.

why did they stoped working on it ? :/
no updates on this yet? awww was hoping they have some more trailers or news on this game. been forever since played realistic mecha game
I would sell my soul for Warhammer or Atlas.
I hope its as good as the old mechwarrior series...
To be honest, if that Atlas had jumped me, my first reaction would be to scream like a little girl.
@blacksaibot I'm willing to accept the possibility that it may be rendered, not CGI - but there are alot of tells that say it's not gameplay:
1. The very first second in the cockpit the pilot's eyes turn left before the mech, I don't know of any controllers with 4 analog sticks to accomplish that
2. When player strafes behind building (twice), the mech he's piloting "ducks" all of about 6 feet, like every game ever, it doesn't make sense to have some adjustable ducking mechanism, just click one knee, click twice prone.
3. No HUD...how is he firing the 5 different weapon groups, angling himself so the least damage parts are facing his enemy and monitoring his HEAT especially...there be no way to play a mech game without an onscreen gauge for heat at the very very least, not to mention jumpjets, coolant flushes, radar pings, etc.
4. Why are we arguing? Do either of us really think we're going to convince the other one...besides I have doubt this games ever coming out, no news in years and being tied up in lawsuits with the japenses mech franchises...somethings off about this all
@gideonkain oh come on now. No HUD implies not in-game footage? I've played various FPS and action related games where you can remove the HUD within their standard options menu (one quick example off the top of my head is Delta Force). They've made many promo videos of in-game footage without any HUDs and used different camera angles to make the video more exciting. Even CoD has done it. Why can't MW? Because it's too good to be true? With today's game engines and increasing graphic standards, what I see in this video is very feasible. I look back at Gears of Wars TV trailers without HUDs and its all in-game rendering with damn good graphics.
@blacksaibot If it's not CGI (doubtful) it sure isn't game play. IF it were there would be more than 1 _again_ "scripted" video in the last 3 years.
You call me a twit, yet you fail to notice that there is no HUD in the First Person shots...it's just cinematic, not game play.
It's all just for show, your yelling at me for believing that the giant green floating head isn't OZ.
And by saying I obviously know nothing about games is just plain rude.
Thanks for calling me a twit, I love your eclectic Sub Zero avatar.
@gideonkain Of course the video was scripted. 90% of games' trailers are scripted to build up hype. Artificial intelligence itself is mostly scripted, silly. Do you even know what CGI is? Computer-generated imagery doesn't imply that it's not in-game rendering you twit. You obviously know NOTHING about what you're talking about, so don't bother bashing this game.
Honestly, the "gameplay" looks completely staged, as in rendered like a CGI film.
Two years since a screenshot, a lawsuit with Bandai and din't appear at E3...I don't have hight hopes for this...
@littlejj ya i mean really like y would u do that and u could easily see that the atlas had walked into the smoke already and the drone had picked up to targets so like what were they thinking and o ya if the mech explosions are that epic will they hurt you too or just look epic?
Incidentally you can find more information at
I miss the orginal names for these mechs, like Timberwolf for Madcats, and I have a question, what kind of an idiot pilot walks into a big plum of smoke when you KNOW there is another enemy near by probably waiting just around the corner, I mean I love the video, and from what I know about 80% of that is going to be in game if not future 100%, but arg sometimes you just got to wonder what the writers for these things are thinking.
Goes without saying I am a big fan of original Mechwarrior/Mech commander/Powered armour etc so exciting that someone has finally decided to make something of this.
I share the views of an earlier comment, hope this doesn't go the same way as Duke...
As to why this was not in E3, 1 trailer in a year, and not much update kinda thinking some ways to go in development.
Even in a trailer bit sloppy ejection pod landing in the explosion:p
Ultimate!! man, as long as they include the simulator style gameplay, salvage system, some good battle scenarios, multiplayer and The Smoke Jaguars I am s-o-l-d.
This game had better not go the way of Duke Nukem: Forever or I will be supremely pissed off.
What, I don't see a Mad Cat, where? This all takes place before the Clan Invasions. What you're "piloting" is a Warhammer...some 70-ton heavy mech. Twin PPC's and below-average armor for one of that size.
I would have just said "screw this noise," and ran like a little panzy. Thos Atlas mechs take a lot to bring down and a medium mech can't go toe-to-toe with one in most scenarios.
I hope this also comes to PS3, or has low PC requirements to play.
Why was the absent from E3? Whyyyyyy???
I played the RPG and the strategy game, I really hope this game makes it and comes so you could play one of the Houses, or the Clans. It would be grand to play this on the 360. MP and co-op would be dam cool as well; This video had great detail.
Oh yeah, at the end of MW4 Merc it was hinted that Terra started a campaign to retake it's colonies, if so, I hope I can choose to be on their side, not the colonies. For Terra :D
Atlas... loved that big hulk of metal... but I prefered the Fafnir. That was the massive mech, if memory serves... But yeah... awesome. Nice to see they are working on it. The graphics look awesome, the acting is not too shabby. I will definantly track this game and I hope they make it pretty complex and with better teammate commands. //Spectre lance, on me
