I ve been waiting 10 yrs for mechwarrior 5! destructable environments and destructable and damaged mechs using todays gaming tech would look incredible.But this game should do nicely!
I have all the mechwarrior games: mechwarrior 2,3,4,black knight, and mercenaries.Giant robots with tons of weapons have always been awesome!
Just registered with MWO after watching this. Got the reserved name 'Death Machine" for game name.
This looks pretty nice and I guess I can try this out since it's in Cryengine 3. I will name my gaint robot "Master Blaster". :D
I think monstachruck is talking about the original tabletop version of the game where mele damage was a possibility. There were specific Mechs designed to dish out mele damage at close range such as the Axeman and Hatchetman.
Bah I wanted a Mechwarrior story mode the Universe is soo good. Looks fun though, just wish they would make another Mechwarrior Mercenaries.
Mechwarrior , a game that stood out then " poof " disappeared.I always wanted to see a MMo of this where you started the first 20 levels building your character and then able to pilot a Mech by global planetary domination depending on who Stieners , clan , Merc., etc and you earned by killing many piloting a Heavy Mech / Atlas.Kodiak. To bad they didn't take it any further.
Compared to the original trailer, I will say that this version is a little disappointing, but on the other hand...Mechwarrior!
I was pretty worried they would try to make Call of Duty: Modern Mechfare but this is starting to remind me of the good old days. I only really played everything from Mech Warrior 2 onward, but from what I remember Mech Warrior 2 and it's expansions were the best Mech games ever made. I remember even the sound design was so well done, you really felt immersed and like you were piloting a giant robot. Of course, I try to take even my own opinion with a grain of salt considering I was 11 years old and the gaming industry has changed more in that time than anything else I can think of.
reasons why people are interested in this 10% - People like giant robots 20% - Its running CryEngine 3 70% - Its Free to Play
@wastinnaziscum Lol..... i just registered.... w8ing for beta .... .....
Battletech, the origins of the Mechwarrior franchise, included melee combat as a last-ditch effort for mechs that run out of ammo or have disabled weapons. Some mechs were even specifically made with melee in mind. Mechs with opposable digits could also pick up debris and even severed limbs to use as clumsy but devastating "weapons". Even the "chicken walker" mechs could kick and do death-from-above, where a mech uses jump jets to land on top of another mech, which though extremely difficult and sometimes suicidal, could instantly destroy an enemy mech (and the mech performing the maneuver.)
