I hope this game will push other games to have offline coop and stop the single player focus.

i loved borderlands it was a game that kept me busy and i was quite pleased with the dlc except the zombie dlc was kinda short but pretty cool still. the arena was god awfull doing those waves but after time i 100% it. the only gripe i had was i couldnt get my friends to play it with me so i did the whole game alone or with randoms. then all my friends got into it months after i was already done with it and said hey we found this aawesome co op game, and im like ummm did you not see it in my status the months i was away playing it lol. it was a game that never really died out, the goty edition with all the dlc revived it as soon as it did die out and i still see people playing it today

Hopefully this game really makes headlines. I only know a few people who played borderlands 1 and with other well known games coming out (AC3,halo 4,black ops 2) its possible this game wont gain to many fans and will be thrown in the shadows.

Way to go to all the Borderlands 1 fans out there, I never would have played it if you guys hadn't been flooding the boards about how kickass this series is. Now I'm hopelessly addicted and can't wait for this.

Randy, you are the MAN!  Thank you for standing up for making a cool, unique, daring game!  Also.... please please please don't even consider  making Borderlands 3 F2P.... How could we afford a gazzilion dollars to get all the guns??!?!? :P

well i put over 1800 hours in the first game so im sure il spend over 500 hours on the sequel.

randy is not over- estimating how much time people will spend with his game. trust me hardcore borderlands players often have well over 500 hours playtime an often over 1000. youd be surprised how good an how much replay value this game has. there isnt 500 hours worth of unique content lol to whoever said that. but the re playability is there if you want it. an itl probably last you 500 hours or more. depends on the player an wot you want to get out of the game tho.

i love collecting an levelling up my characters an this game has an endless supply of loot, an the badass rank is endless character progression/building. so there are tons of hours of gameplay here.

borderlands 2 is certainly looking to be one of the best sequels of all time an defo a goty 2012.

i cant wait for this game. hopefully my loot chest comes a lil early.

I know I'll be putting 500 hours into this, Salvador FOREVER!

Anyone else get a feeling B2 is going to be epic game of the year material or what?

i like that they are going to release a new playable character.  the mechromancer sounds intriguing.  i am still not sure whom i am going to start the game with... gotta have an sp character and a mp character for sure.

I really like how Randy shows support for other games outside of Gearbox. Good on ya Randy ;)

I find it hard to believe that they put in 500 hours of unique and meaningful content. Quality content is very time consuming to create, so 500 hours of unique content seems to me a bit made up. How is it economic to put so much content, unless it is the same thing again and again?

Of course I'll have to wait for reviews and play it myself, but that outrageous claim is very had for me to believe.

I'd like it if they included bot team members for those of us who don't have friends who play this.

500 hours?  I played the absolute Hell out of Skyrim and only spent a little over 200 hours.  Randy, I think you're over estimating how much time most people are going to invest in your game.

@MelodicMizery This game is all about co-op.  You have to find some friends to play it with.  Single player works, but it's not its shining moment.  Co-op is what it's all about.

Only if they live under a rock.  This game IS well known.  Not sure why you think it's not.

@ragnar320 Yeah, this is what happens when you put actual gamers in charge of designing games. Guy's gotta be the best spokesperson for Gearbox just cause he's a straight up fan of his own company

ZzMurdererzZ
ZzMurdererzZ

 @ragnar320 Gameinformer has it listed as both split-screen off-line and split-screen on-line

kohle36
kohle36

@boixwunder I kindof want to play whoever everyone else ISN'T, tbh, just to make co-op a little more interesting. From the sounds of it, there's going to be a lot of Zer0s and Salvadors out there

kohle36
kohle36

@picho86 Sounded like the '500' number was just pulled out of the air on the spot. I don't think he actually meant there's 500 hrs of unique stuff to do, but that they wanted to give some variety to hobbyists who do multiple playthroughs.

kohle36
kohle36

@The-Neon-Seal I'm pretty sure you can join other players' games, even if they're not on your friends list. That's fairly standard for co-op multiplayer these days

@endorbr I have over 1000 hours on Empire Total War, almost 300 on the original Borderlands and that is primarily SP, and over 200 hours on Skyrim.

jer_1
jer_1

@endorbr The only game in recent memory that I've put over 300 hours in would be ARMA 2 ACE & DayZ. Now that game and it's mods have MASSIVE replay value.

Skyrim netted me just under 200 hours.

I'm not sure what to think about the replay value of this game, I bought it already but I'm a bit doubtful that it will even hold a candle to ARMA for me.

I think he is overstating it as well ... but man, I spent a lot of time with this game as did my friends .. if any new game coming out could boast this - it would be BL2 (or GTAV when it comes out)

mitch318
mitch318

@moc5 Like i said i only know i few people who play it. Im not saying its not well known just that its not as well known as games like cod and AC and halo like it should be. Even on this website yes it gets a lot of coverage but its not under the top 10 coming soon category or ever has been. But hey maybe that doesnt mean anything any I just have a weird school were somehow no one plays borderlands but thats just what I thought.

ragnar320
ragnar320

 @ZzMurdererzZ

really? so like i can have a friend play on one tv and have both of us play with a friend somewhere else cause that is epic

nt00mdnrkist

@kohle36  @The-Neon-Seal Besides, bot teammates have a HORRIBLE track record. They're more like bullet sponges that you may need to revive every 5 minutes. The only upside would be increased loot and XP. You could always add a second controller and play spit-screen, artificially increasing the difficulty by 1.

endorbr
endorbr

@TKavney92 Not saying some won't but the majority of gamers, even hardcore gamers don't stick with a single title for that long.

moc5
moc5

@mitch318 Fair enough.  I think that after B2's release, it will be even more well known.  B2 is shaping up to be the next great game series and Gearbox Software the next great Developer.  Time will tell.

kohle36
kohle36

@ragnar320  @ZzMurdererzZ Yeh, they confirmed it just before E3. You can split screen with one friend, and then join up to two others online - jump in and jump out. Fantastic system. I'm going to be making good use of this one

lipehique

@endorbr I have a lot of friends that played over 550 hours in Team Fortress 2 or Skyrim, or even Battlefield. You'd be surprised.
