I think the score is deserved. This expansion didn't really manage to get my penis in an erect state either.
The review of this add-on stating "Mass Effect 2 has transformed into a mediocre third-person shooter with no memorable conversations" is how I've always felt about the whole game. I wanted to like it and believe the hype but when I played it it was a light RPG with average TPS mechanics. Better TPS games like MGS4, Uncharted 2, Dead Space 2 and Vanquish are out there. The same can be said for RPGs, Fallout 3, the original Dragon Age Origins (sequel is rubbish) and Oblivion. I just don't get why people are so excited and into this game. I can't see the attraction. It's visuals are great, voice acting is great but everything else really let it down for me.
Ouch! Review seems a little harsh. Sure it wasn't very long, but neither was Shadow Broker, and you guys seemed to like that. I'm not arguing that Shadow Broker wasn't the better expansion, because I think it pretty obviously is, but I think Arrival is still a lot more in line with Shadow Broker's quality than you seem to give it credit for.
Even though it was short and shallow, It offered the link that was needed between ME2 and ME3. I;d rather they concentrate on ME3 rather than the DLC leading up to it. Besides, anyone who knows enough about ME2 knows the Reapers will be coming from dark-space to the Milky Way via [spoiler] Haestrom's sun [spoiler] .
