I tried a demo of Rayman Legends at Gamestop on this.
It defeats the purpose of having two screens if both are showing the samething at the same time. And it's extremely distracting. Plus, trying to use that pad like a traditional controller feels like I was trying to control ants with the Titanic's wheel.
Just waiting for Capcom to put a SF game on the Wii U. They did OK with the 3DS version of SFIV, shouldn't be too hard of a stretch.
Looks WAY different from the last footage of this game, which made it look like a first person action game.
I like the fact that they don't even take fighting stances.They just stand there til they do something.

funny but this one is better than kinnect one, as For motion controll fight games IT SUCKS they could use this engine with Just controllers and maybe it will work way more better.
I like the Marvel universe, but I'd rather buy the similar Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for Wii. I mean, c'mon, gameplay wise, it looks like the Budokai Tenkaichi games. Not that I don't like clones (I like playing some Zelda clones and I recently beat a GTA clone), but DBZ has a game that looks more interesting and it was on lower tech consoles (PS2 and Wii).
Argh, not another 'just an arcade fighter' brutalization on a franchise which is worth SO MUCH MORE than to be relegated to this very monotonous genre!
In concept, I'm sure that this was well thought out and, if started with its own franchise, probably could've worked really well. But as another Marvel fighting game? Capcom has already established that their Marvel fighting games are unrivaled. And these character designs are horrendous. It's a shame that this'll probably flop, because I think this would've been a really awesome concept had the formula gotten its own franchise.
The Secret Invasion would make for a good story line in an action game more so than a fighting game.
Different approach for a fighting game, kinda neat. Ive stopped buying fighting games for a long time because they dont seem to keep my attention for very long.
Was really surprised seeing phoenix in this shes my favourite comic character, and I normally love her in as many games as possible. Shame it's such a crappy game, sigh.. Marvel your business has so much potential and you waste it on games that shouldn't even make it past testing.
hum..... the game is not really a game.. IMO, is more like a mini movie that you can interact... is great for young age and casual players, not the type of game that will excite "gamers"... i thought this is a 3D fighter like Tekken.... but not even close.
what is up with people complaining they have to look up and down? the whole game is playable in the wiiu controller. and most games will be intelligent in using it. they will use it for maps, scanning, inventory, weapon selection, basically you'll use it instead of taking small breaks in the experience. mass effect will no longer require you to pause the action by giving you more shortcuts for abilities accessed by a single tap. i'm more worried about gameplay in this video. it's all QTE and drawing. it doesn't look very good either.
you know that lookin at both screens can be thrilling, especially on survival horroor game like ZombiU.
Hell no @ 0:33. Marvel Superheros/Marvel Vs Capcom 1, 2, 3/etc. is a fighting game. This is a piece of crap.
press the buttons,look at the screen,tap it,slide it,look at the big display,look at the small display,fast tap,draw a circle...is this supposed to be entertaining or annoying?cuz if it's annoying,this console is the best!
Tap tap QTE QTE tap tap draw draw ..the %$# is going on? Why do they think this is a good idea? I am sick of all this worthless junk. The Wii U is not even out and its alreasy full of junk games. I cant stand video games now in days its all QTE and "so easy anyone can do it" crap. The original Wii and its high sales have killed the gaming industry now we have devs and company who still think people want this junk. Just use the pro controller FFS! %$# the screen pad ..%$#@ it.
This is a fine case of developers turning the WiiU controller into a complete gimmick. That looks clunky and annoying to play with both buttons and on screen. ZombieU does it well. IN this game, please just the buttons.

apart from with masseffect while your looking down to select your ability your getting your ass pwnd because you havnt paused it the pause is actually usefull and dont even get me started on shooters using it as a map glancing away from the screen while playing CoD is a bad idea

these are not intelligent ways of using it these are just what most third party tittles will do because they cba to find something clever to do with it...well except the scanning the only games that are likely to do something clever are the exclusives such as zombieU where the whole pad is pretty much your survival kit
@desert_thief Looking at both screens breaks immersion.And will always break immersion.
If you say it is thrilling because something pops out while you were looking at your second screen then that is a false thrill.We get they are trying to get the same feel you get as you reach for your cheetos puffs and a zombie appears but still.
Pro controller only and yes i have held one of those tablets in my hands.Light but certainly not comfortable enough to be worth my time.
@HonorOfGod I have to say that even I do not like this game, I cannot say it is a junk game like you state.... why? Because I have not played it. True, that for some people first impression is important, but I think for videogames is the gameplay mechanics, design, audio and looks (among other things) is what truly determine a game to be a junk or not.
What games out of the launch titles (and launch window) do you consider junk?
lol the Wii did not killed the gaming industry... that is just an excuse many gamers and developers have created in order for them not to start using their brains and come up with games that fully uses motion controls.
Did you play the game? Did you held the gamepad in your hands and played this game?
@HonorOfGod so xbox360 and the ps3 don't have junk games? what do you call every single kinect game in existence? don't blame actual innovators for their faults. blame those who copy them in an inferior fashion.
@grove12345 I agree with you, and I think it will be a mistake for developers to FORCE the gamepad on every single game, if it is not required by design.
Do not get me wrong, I thought that many games were going to be bad on the DS (because of the dual screen and touch screen feature) and many proved me wrong, but I do not what you mean, and it is a concern that I talk about with my colleagues.
Hopefully they get the gamepad integration right :D.

@SirNormanislost Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for yours. I did understand your point on your previous comment about the line sight, and there is no doubt about it that the designers cannot force the use of the gamepad on the game if it is not needed.

well when i got my SNES i was....8 and i dont really remember having any problems with it same with my mega drive the first controllers that really made me think about design were the PS1s dual shock sticks and the really awkward design of the N64s controller having the stick in the middle when they could of ditched the middle prong and made the right one big and put the stick and Z (it was Z on the bottom right?) on the right but it kinda worked untill you need to use the stick and yellow buttons at the same time
but ive never really had to look down that much the buttons dont move and i feel the shape of them with my thumbs something you wont be able to do with the WiiU
but that wasnt really my point with the first comment the DS works because the second screen is slightly below your eyeline a position where you would get arm ache trying to hold any controller outright infront of you to copy this on a TV let alone the WiiUs so you could glance to the Pads screen like you would a DS

@SirNormanislost Well that is why I said that the developers should not FORCE the usage of the gamepad on the games that do not need it.... because this can create serious issues.
But here is a question for you, that maybe you find the question fair or totally unrelated, but here it goes... What was your (or any gamer) first reaction when you picked any controller for the first time?.... if you are old like me I will ask to go back to the Master System and NES days, and even before. Unless you were gifted (not trying to offend you or make you sound bad), you did have to look at the control. The reaction that most people tend to have when they got a control for the first time, is to look at the control and get use to the button layout, and on top of that get use to the hand-eye-game coordination.... for most this was a very short process (depending on the control and the games off course)
Not defending the game or the design/purpose of the console, but I think we should give more credit to the human race that can quickly adapt to new technology and other elements. Meaning that there will be a point playing the game (again depending the design of the game) that many gamers using the tablet will not need to look at its screen.
Remember, as a gamer we already have a set of standards embedded in our brains, and sometimes we are challenge by new standards/ways whether we like it or not, whether is good or bad.
