Major League Baseball 2K12 Interview
Marko Djordjevic speaks with Chris Snyder of 2K Sports about what to expect from MLB 2K12.
The problem with every sport game I have played with 2k basketball baseball etc is the difficulty settings. It's so complex but no fun. If you go with casual and easy it's boring always hitting home runs pitch speed is to slow. Their are custom settings bit it takes an hour to get it right, Stealing is impossible you can't really figure out how to do it sometimes it happens sometimes it wont work. Pitching is innovative but again a joke to hard and complex. Cutters are easy split fingers work but curves are often impossible and rely on dumb luck. The game should be challenging out of the box and have one setting which is play. The fielding camera isn't that great and controlling the base runners is kinds tricky and ruins easy runs sac fly's etc.. The game has to much emphasis on presentation the game play is terrible at times. You gotta remember it's baseball it shouldnt be arcade goofy but should be hard and challenging not to the point where at sim settings it's hard to see the ball as a hitters because of to fast pitch speed
I just hope 2K can resolve their online server issues. I have, and continue to play, MLB 2K11, but the online servers supporting this game in ranked matches have fallen into the "laggy" territory. I am more of a casual baseball fan and usually play the video game when a "spring training" or "hot October" urge comes around and love the game--aside from some minor issues that could be worked out in the next release. Although, online server quality is a big inquiry on my wish list!
Whoo Hoo, I tried MLB the Show, but found it too easy, I was averaging 10+ runs....WITH THE METS...MVP was awesome, but until that comes back, gotta go with 2K
MLB the show is still better........ looks to arcade like still..... I used to love 2k baseball but yall killed it on the next gen systems. :/
not a bad game... but previosly, i found the game shallow. game play engine is not bad, but by no means challenging. cpu is a beast defensively. you hardly will have errors, droped fly balls and etc. anything that comes close to defensive player, is a made play. pitching is not bad... but again, to repetitive. bating needs lots of work. if you time the ball, you can hit home runs at will. not realistic at all. anyways, the big problem i have with the series, is that the game is very simple in assossiation mode. trades dont make sence. you can trade 3 bench players, to get a star. trade offers dont make sence. in season 2-3, you will have teams with 3 really good same position players. while lucking on everything else. there is no challenge to sign free agents. any player you like, you can easily sign them. anyways, as i play on pc, its the only MLB game out there. so i shouldnt complain. and because i love playing assossiation modes in any sports game, mlb 2k is by far the worst... game play is ok, but a little arcadish
Apparently they didn't update the graphics engine for this installment...and only focused on the underlying mechanics of the game. Not really disappointed by that...seems like the best way to go.
We'll see I guess. Apparently this will be the last baseball game 2K sports will make (according to their 7 year contract with MLB) and, according to the CEO, this franchise has been a consistent money pit for Take2 Interactive. I can't say I am disappointed by this...as the only thing they seem to do consistently (besides lose money) is release a bad product. Hopefully a franchise will come along and create a baseball game on par with Sony's "The Show" franchise.
Why is there always some one with negativity on all games of late..Like the guy down below oh it looks ugly..Dude what ever no offence...Its a great game challenging at times if you actually played the series...Ive enjoyed every year so far..
