I was thinking to myself as they were trying to describe what it felt like and couldn't come up with anything "It looks exactly like flying the spaceship from Asteroids, how do they not see that???" Then I realized I'm old and they're too young to have played it :(
Reminds me of the old Triple Action airplane fighting game on the Intellivision from back in the day.
Eh, so it basically just looks like a variation on Asteroids from what I can see.
You act like it's something brand new or something.
Looks decent enough.
So when GS wants to push a game, they use phrases like "satisfying simplicity" - Luftrausers
But when they want a game to fail, they use phrases like, "fails to justify its existence in the modern era" - Duck Tales
The double standard at this site is insane.
Reminds me of those late seventies, early eighties coin-operated arcade games like 'Galaxian', 'Asteroids' or 'Scramble'...
...ooohh a new asteroid/timepilot game....Subterrania without the fuel management...I am Sinistar!.....
This is very, very similar to Jetstrike on the old Amiga. Old becomes new! Good times to be a veteran gamer.
Am I the only one disappointed you are not the ship? I was like... cool! A ship shooter where you upgrade your guns and defend against airborne enemies! Then the plane took off... oh another flight shooter :(
@Born_Lucky They're reviewers and as such exercise personal taste, they're not the heralds of some public agenda. They're not supposed to tell you what to think. Why would they want a game to fail anyway?!
'Aus' means from or out. 'Raus' means get out. I suppose Luftrausers could be translated as 'Emptiers Of Skies'...
@geitenvla I do! look like the same jet but for me that is totally different game.. The launch of the jet from the boat doesn't make sense
@LikeAWass PC,Linux,VITA,PS3 so heres your answer.
@LikeAWass That's what I was thinking. Would be a great game on the go.
@LikeAWass At this point, anything would be great on the Vita lol
