Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals E3 2010 Interview: Ben Flasher
We talk to Ben Flasher from Natsume about the new Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals at E3 2010!
"I see a gun, I'm pretty sure that's a weapon." Brilliant! I'm actually looking forward to this game. I never played the original Lufia, but that doesn't seem to be a problem.
Just ordered this from amazon, can't wait! Mr. Ben Flasher takes a while to respond to the questions about the game...
One of my favorite RPG stories of all time, Lufia 2. I hope the script remains similar, because it was a kick-ass story. The SNES game had the BEST soundtrack for any SNES game ever. Just didn't like the pacing of the SNES game so I hope they change it with the DS version. In the SNES version, you'd go to a new town, then automatically to a new dungeon...never returning to any previously visited places for sidequests (I don't remember if there were any sidequests, if there were...there weren't much at all). Most definitely gonna hafta check out this game.
looks pretty good, kinda dissapointed that its been turned into an action rpg and its not a sequel, but as long as they keep the characters personalities untouched (which i cant see happening, look emo lol) should be worth the cash
This guy is PATHETIC at interviews lol. Worse than that Rune Factory/Harvest Moon guy. Wait. Same company. Why am I not surprised.
And also, this Lufia is an action rpg now? Why? Release date: 3rd Quarter. Could you have been a little more specific Ben?
I don't know about this Lufia. What they need to do is port Lufia 1 & 2 and remake Lufia 3. Only then will I jump for joy.
Hm, honestly not sure what I think about this news. I thought this was going to be a semi-sequel to Lufia 2 or something, rather than a remake/re-imagining, and I was pretty excited about that. But Lufia 2 is one of my all time favourite games, so I'll be interested to see how this does work out, and how faithful they are to the characterisation and story of the original, with their new script and reworked dungeons. Also, this better have an Ancient Cave mode. For those new to the Lufia series, the Ancient Cave in Lufia 2 is a dungeon crawl that's randomly generated every time you enter it. You can pick your party, but you're all reset to level 1 and you lose all your gear, except for a few rare items you might have. It has 99 floors, you pick up gear as you go, and it's really, really fun.
I absolutely loved the two lufia series as a child, I was one of those who played it to death (yes, that includes the ones on the GBC and GBA). Combine this with Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (been waiting quite a few years for that as well) and DQ9, and my DS is getting ready to see some heavy usage. Hopefully this'll be a good, fresh start for the Lufia series, because it was an amazing series that often got overlooked. Now, with this, maybe it'll get the respect and fan following that it so richly deserves.
I can't wait for this!! Sorry for the interviewed, he was so nervous!!! He didn't know about the game at all?
I've gotta say - I'm impressed. I don't know crap about the first couple games, but I know a decent DS game when I see it ;) I do wish he would have gone more in depth with the combat though...
I would have enjoyed this MUCH more if the Natsume rep could actually answer the questions...maybe I should have muted the speakers. Outside of that, game looks pretty good. Worth tracking...
It's E3, this Ben guy isn't prepared at all. Either that or he thinks Kevin is really cute. St-St-Stutter?
Hahaha looks like this guy was forced to give the interview without real preperation, so funny! Game looks nice tough i will keep a eye on it.
Wow this RPG looks awesome!. Never played the original so don't know what to expect.Half your time in dungeons fighting mosters, and half your time solving puzzles........sounds excellent. :L
Yeah! Lufia, this is a remake of the second game, which in turn is really the first game, lol, I can't wait.....
Man the interviewer really gave the interviewed all the heads up but he just didn't seem to know the game that well, maybe he was nervious but looks like a good game, kind of like lunar knights.
