Low-cost AMD PC - Watch Dogs Update
Watch Dogs runs surprisingly well on our console-priced AMD gaming PC.
I am using a Nvidia 560Ti on AMD Phenom X4 and the frame rates really drop to unplayable in the main part of the City. I sometimes have to slow down time (one of your abilities) to deal with it lol.
If you don't mind used hardware you can easily get a very good PC for about 150 bucks.
Last December I build several of these for friends:
Q6600@4x2,4Ghz, 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD, Geforce 9800GTX --> this setup is fairly common on ebay and shouldn't cost more than 130€
If you want a bit more performance you can get a Geforce GTX 480 and a 120GB SSD for another 120€.
this kind of setup will let you play many newer games at max settings including Sleeping Dogs, Dark Souls 2, Skyrim (with mods), Far Cry 3, Crysis 2, Mass Effect 3, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite etc.
250€ in total and you have a pretty good gaming PC
I knew AMD was better value for the mid-range, but this really is a *significant* difference. I'm kind of shocked to be honest.
Watch Dogs is designed to utilize more CPU cores. I think ultimately the CPU decision here is what makes this system run the game better than the intel system.
30FPS is all you're getting on a console anyway right? and ultra settings look even better.
Though I wonder what resolution that's running. I've noticed fps take a dump when I set it to 1080, still playable but it's not a smooth 60 I can get with 720.
@sidfreak1 Well i from a intel g645 w 4Gb of ram @1333 and a Nvidia 450GTS and the game goes good 20-30fps (config low) but it have a lot of problem such as drop fps.
