Kingdom Hearts III Gameplay Trailer from D23 Expo in Japan
The trio is back, Donald, Goofy and Sora show off some of the gameplay in this teaser of Kingdom Hearts III.
Ive been waiting for so long, I have to say this was kind of a lame trailer. It doesn't look like a next gen game. This could have been rendered on the ps2.
That warning about the English being added in the final version was rather a "duah" mention. Actually, that whole message was "duah". Anyway, just from the little bit that they showed, it looks like they are adding some new interesting aspects to the battles; ships, rides....although the train one looked like it would be a rather annoying boss fight; a rather tedious boss fight. I liked how they showed a bit of the familiar and UN-familiar in just a short trailer- I wonder how far into development the game is.....
Xbox does NOT deserve this game. There...I said it. :P That said, I think I definitely WILL be going next gen and get a PS4 to play it. Im a PC gamer mainly but damn is next gen console gaming looking good.
After so much time I hope they can pull off a game to meet our expectations, the first 2 games were life changing, I want this game to last in my memories as long as the other 2 have
Good game for my kids, loved mikey games as a child. These are fun to help them get through though :P
Using popular Dinseyland rides as summons? Heh.. that's different. Wonder what Space Mountain will look like. OH $#!T I just realized Disney since part 2 acquired Star Wars and Marvel! Sora could be seen with A-listers like Liam Neeson (Qui-gon Jin) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine! WOLVERINE IN KINGDOM HEARTS COULD HAPPEN!) look-alikes!
finally kingdom hearths is back! Why square enix take so long to launch this I don't get it! Square Enix should give more attention to their lovely franchises! They should launch remakes from the old games! Or re-launch games! If they do that they will make more money then rockstar with GTA! Everyone wants Final Fantasy VII Remake or Final fantasy VIII remake, Final Fantasy X also! Like others games like crono cross or dragon quest. Square Enix have the best RPGs ever! Why they don't stop trying make new games and give a effort to remake the old ones and continue their story's or something.
Why is everyone complaining about the graphics? Its supposed to look like that. I mean, you can't make Sora and everyone else too realistic, or then it wouldn't fit in with the Disney theme. And why has nobody pointed out the fact that Sora was wielding dual guns that also seemed to have Key-chains connected to them. That definitely adds an entirely new gameplay mechanic.
i like how the graphic look and all but it also doesn't look much engaging like how KH2 was. I know it just a trailer but I just wanted to put that out there. The only thing that allowing me to continue with this series is because I want to see how the story end and I want to see Riku and Kairi again.
People are complaining about the graphics? Really, I think this is exactly the look they were going for, that polished cartoony feel.
For fuck sakes you play with Donald and Goofy and people are expecting Killzone graphics.
Ok, don't care too much about the graphics. They don't look amazing for next-gen, but its more of a style choice. A bit like cell-shaded. Perfectly fine.
Anyway, big issue is that gameplay doesn't look terribly changed except
for a few adjustments to fighting, though the Titan battle at least
showed some innovation. Kinda rip-off of God of War like fighting on the Titans. If you're going to show some new footage though, don't show Twilight Town. We've seen it a thousand times across 3-5 games, depending on which you played.
Bigger Issue: are they seriously using the exact same music they used from KH2 over 8 years ago? Please tell me its just because of development that they pulled in the old music for the trailer.
Great game will be getting this, and come on people since when does graphics define a game lets be real.
Okay guys, here's the deal abut the graphics: There are games like FFXV that try to be hyper realistic, and then there are games that have a specific art direction to set the tone. There simply can't be both, one will eventually detract from the other. This game is meant to look cartoony, and in line with it's Disney landscapes. How many photorealistic, super HD, brighter than the sun, Disney (or even pixar) movies have you seen? The art direction has not changed, so therefore yes, it's going to look very similar to the previous games, and for good reason: BECAUSE IT WILL LOOK SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS GAMES! If it looked or felt dissimilar that'd be a whole new can of worms!
Further, the graphics are very much improved even in this -early- build. The flame spells sizzle, and smoke, the lights emit a soft, warm glow, the shadows from everything from the upper levels of the town, to the space inbetween the cobblestones give everything depth, vines/pillars/signs/pipes/etc that used to be flat and pixelated now pop like they have real world purpose, and not decorations for a ghost town.
Saying this is PS2 level is like saying Borderlands 2 could have been on the PS2, or Dragon Quest VIII could have been on the Dreamcast. You really just end up showing your ignorance.
ehh. I see the point you guys are making that it doesn't look THAT much more HD. But it does look very crisp. Like the edges around characters are more well defined. And the fire spell looks way way better. I guessing they're going to be showing off the pretty colors and the vibrant brights because that does make it pop a little more.
BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! CHANGE THE F@*KING CAMERA!
I love this series... going for platinum in 1.5 HD Remix.. so I pretty much have to get this game. But the worst part has always been the constantly rotating camera. Manual or Auto it still drives me crazy and makes me dizzy with all that spinning. Just zoom the camera out a bit like most 3rd person games and then I could spin the camera wherever I want and keep the camera steady for ex: Big boss battles when you're constantly spinning around a giant figure.
I don't get the train portion - was that controlled? Or are we just sitting and watching for a bit?
Reminds me of the "spectacle" of XIII - 2, like the intro (for example)
is it just me or was anyone else unimpressed with the trailer? it doesn't look very impressive graphically (only marginally better than the HD collections) and the ui and visual elements all look too familiar and stale for my tastes. it might be great in the end, but i was expecting something a little more drastic with this franchise going into next gen.
Okay, great that they're finally wrapping this up, but is this like KH2 where I have to play the portable in-between games to not be totally fuggin lost?
I heard this is a rendering made to look like gameplay? Neat idea to use rides as special abilities. Still hoping to see flo motion (or whatever) and BBS style command decks.
Wow, I didn't expect gameplay so soon. Love how it's looking, but I hope it's not dumbed down for kids and too full of those fixed action sequences. Though the titan one looked amazing. Also, I want to see a new outfit. Isn't he an adult now?
I'm actually pleased with Square. 2 trailers for this so far and both show ACTUAL GAMEPLAY. Go back and watch trailers of past KH games and they were like all cut scenes with maybe 30 sec. of gameplay. When you consider Square was one the greatest offenders of showing us trailers for years of nothing but cutscenes.
Graphically it looks great and I can't wait to see more however it does look like it is a bit all over the place. I understand it is still a work in progress and I hope for the best for them. However I would like to see this game released soon as oppose to 10 years from now (Final Fantasy XIII Versus AKA Final Fantasy XV)
@dogman12602 I think we all loved Mikey. Too bad he couldn't get out from the shadow of his not-retarded cousin Mickey.
@harndoogle I agree with you. The graphics are underwhelming. Perhaps it has to do with the simplicity of the art style that gives that impression? I think the biggest problem is how stale it all looks with the same UI and animations from 10 years ago.
@ANUBISZER0 funny, I recently bought 1.5 remix and I felt like I was too old in way.. it just didn't feel as fun even though I was super excited to revisit the KH world and reminisce after so many years. Too high expectations based on early memories.
@ANUBISZER0 That is exactly how I felt. I presonal think the series should have ended long time ago and now Im not that hype about it. But I will try to play the game so I can get my Kingdom Hearts sprit back. Beside this is the final chapter but not the complete series.
@Xristophoros I'll wait to judge 'til I see more. For now, I'm just excited that they're actually making it - instead of a few more "inbetweenquels"
@Xenro4 pretty sure he's still 16
@Shengali fair enough. maybe my expectations were set too high. this franchise has had so many sequels that i have lost track of the story by this point, but i'm looking forward to seeing where it all goes and how the story ends.
