kinect has no space for adventure games. mainly just dancing, as you can see. the PSmove could probably do a much better job at this game. controllers are key. imo
i knew this game would not be great or possibly even good but i didn't think it would be this bad :'(
It amazes me; we now have motion controls on all consoles- each with very different methods for controls, yet NONE OF THEM have given us what we want- a motion controlled Jedi game that works. Nope, as for now we must be satisfied with simply motion controled FPS games for PS3, pointless mini-game compilations on kinect, and for the wii, motion controls are basically "flail around with the nunchuck to make mario spin or donkey kong roll! weeeeee!"
I think the Kinect suffers from being controller free. As a first generation technology, it needed motion sensing controllers like the PS Move for it to be accurate enough to have a worthwhile game come along and actually work
wow it keeps smacking up "cool" and "awsome" in their groin... owwwwww COME ON!!! I COULD MAKE A BETTER GAME!!!
And finally. Finally. George Lucas and his shameless, incessant whoring/watering-down of a once-beloved franchise has at last made me not like Star Wars anymore. Not even a bit. I'm 39. This realisation has been too long in coming.
@Vixenar Move has better movement detection and less lag. Plus there are more controls than what you have available using only Kinect. They could have improved this game a full review point had they used a 360 controller in conjunction with Kinect, but that would ruin the point of making a Kinect game. I'm not saying this could be a blockbuster game the way it is, but it could have gotten a higher review score had it had better controls.
What is this abomination! Game development is at an all time low. How on earth did this see the light of day?
Strangely, I'm not disappointed. Maybe this just came out too early in the kinect life cycle. While using the kinect is great for force powers - I'd rather play a motion-centric star wars game with the Move or the Wii - waving my arm around to move a lightsaber doesn't seam quite as fulfilling as it would if i was holding something. (and just think, there could be a 'special controller' shaped as a lighsaber that could come with the game, or be an extra option to buy with the game). The dancing.......how hilariously disturbing; horrifying. I'm sure it was intentional - the 'Star Wars Camp' have always been pretty receptive to parodies, and well, they made good with a good opportunity to do so on their end..... still, its hard to form words every time I come across gameplay footage of it.....
@Hvac0120 Better on Move, how? how would switching from one motion detect system to another would make this sorry excuse of a game any better?
Seriously, real true Star Wars fans would NEVER have turned Han Solo into a gimpy, pretty boy rave dancer. All he needs to complete this disaster is a whistle and a glow stick.
I think I just threw up a little. or a lot. WHOMEVER has created that Han Solo abomination needs to be placed in carbon freeze forever so they can do no more harm.
This game would have been better on Move, but only would have pushed the score to 7.0. At least it would be worth checking out at that point. I'll pass on this one.
I personally that the Kinect is a good idea and is not as terrible as people think it is. Sadly nothing has come out for the Kinect that has proved me right, or atleast so far. If anything this game is another nail in Kinect's coffin. It just goes to show you need atleast on button. So to that end I say ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY WII!!!
Well, this turned out to be a stinking pile of Bantha podoo. When are we finally going to get a game that actually works well with Kinect? As much as I hate to say it, I'm afraid the next Fable game is going to suffer the same fate. Kinect is pretty much a complete bust at this point and should just quietly crawl into a hole and die much like Microsoft's HDDVD format did.
This is why I hate motion controller games. Game developers are trying to make us feel like we're the controller but the darn motion can barley see you! also what's the REAL song called at 4:47.
