@mgdlite.  I really doubt it's going to be turn into NFS and be awful. There have been countless times while playing any of the Forza games where I've been thinking, "what if that barrier wasn't there and I could drive there? Or going around Fujimi and wanting a new mountain, or traffic, night racing. Making the touge racing scene seem more real.

Grid had probably the best night-time, downhill racing ever and with the people from CodeMasters coming in to help out, I can't imagine what it'll be like. I feel like this game deserves an honest chance and with the Forza team behind the wheel (no pun intended), I know they're going to pull it off without a hitch. I can't wait to get my hands on this game and ignore people for a week haha.

Congradulations...........you have just ruined Forza......from a great sim........to a social arcade.   "Test Drive"......I'll keep playing forza 4.

I can already tell I will be playing Forza 4 waiting for 5. You nailed Forza guys! Why are you ruining that by making an open world racing game? It gets boring very quickly just driving around racing AI.

I love the concept, but the physics look below forza standards and i hope to god it has a cockpit view. Also we need zombies to break in the shiny new forza sandbox... do eeeet

action racing is just a more trendy way of saying "arcade racing". XD

I hope this "music festival" culture isn't rammed down your neck pipe, it's a driving game first and foremost and that's what will attract a lot of gamers. I don't play games to listen to rave/hip-hop or any of that other bullshit and in a driving game it's not really needed. The views look great but weather effects are needed, at least rain. One problem with TDU2 was after a while the game was simply boring to play, it will be interesting to see what they can do to combat this.

This is not Forza.....this is more of a Test drive -,-...Nonetheless hope is good and had that Feel into it

Awwww man, it looks like they changed the physics engine, looks more like how cars drive in NFS Underground series. Its fun but that type of 'arcade-style' driving doesnt stay very entertaining for long.

I really, really hope they add weather effects. There hasn't even been a good attempt at that since PGR4.

I passed on Forza 4 because It's the same gameplay for any Forza game, but this on is a must buy for me

I wanna know If this has serious damage physics like GTA IV, if it does I'm definitely in, if not it'll just be a boring racing game like regular Forza and GT5 so I won't be interested, game looks gorgeous though, not sure about the sound.

I like how that voice GPS thing works though, neat, maybe Mercedes Benz should take some notes from this man and his team for their voice  systems =P

Oh and 65 different surfaces? I didn't even know there was that many =/

Wonder how it is with the driving aids off. The vid didn't really look very realistic at all.

At 4:20 I was thinking ' I hope for the demo drivers sake that AI driver doesnt hit him' - 10 seconds later he plows into the back of him, continues to nudge him and then drives off LOL.  They really need to sort the stupid AI out, its the only negative thing I have to say about Forza 4, its too easy too manipulate them into driving your way.

Game looks awesome apart from that though.

This looks pretty interesting, I like the open world/festival setting. I just hope the handling is decent and there's a demo so we can try it out.

Horizon is looking great. It still looks very Forza and if the cars still feel like Forza, just in an open world setting, with typical  action race game attributes then so be it. I rather that than the Test Drive and NFS games I didn't like in the past.

i have yet to get bored of forza 4. it reminds me of when i was a teenager. how i would play a game until it would no longer function properly. i got my moneys worth. even after i get new games and beat them, i still always come back to forza. greatest racing game i have ever played.

@XBlade1X

He's using the same sort of descriptions Turn10 did when it came to the handling and pick up and playability, which I suspect means there's tool to cater to the folks who want to play it with arcadey physics.  Everyone else who wants more realistic physics will get such by turning off the assists, or perhaps dialing them back if they're done with multipul levels now.

I shouldn't have had my hopes so high about finally getting an open world driving simulator... Don't get me wrong, this does look really good, and I will purchase it, but no one has created a proper open world driving sim with great car customization yet, and it just makes no sense that they use the Forza name unless it gives you a realistic driving experience. By the way, for those about to tell me what the guy said, physics and handling are different things, and he mentioned it would be aiming more for pick up and play, which basically means that the handling is not going to be very realistic at all.

Looks really good. Nice to see a bit of the old Project Gotham Racing style points system has made it in there, the guys from Bizarre Creations are making their mark! Also off road driving in Forza hopefully means a whole boatload of awesome rally cars to drive!

This is more like the Forza for me, I get bored of just racing around tracks, but the idea of just cruising around an openworld like in Test Drive is much better

it looks good but in general its nothing new, EA have dominated and milked the idea of open world racing...

I feel this game will have much less cars than the previous games. Also, not seeing any Ferraris and such

Didn't they have a popularity level in Test drive unlimited aswell? This game sounds very similar to that one.

oh, okay, this will be something like Test Drive Unlimited only better looking and probably more realistic driving.

It all goes down to how the driving would actually feels. If it would have same great physics as forza 4 then it would be a blast, if not than it's just nfs clone. I didnt like all this drift stuff and all.

This is gona be awesome. bit of a new direction for forza and why not, they have the sim genre locked down why not try somethin a bit different. it'll be no NFS copy neither turn all the driving assists off and this will be as challenging as you like.

wicked loving this new  off spring from Forza, its about time. you can only make the same game so many times.Great way to widen the the buyer group.

@Johny_47  That's unlikely. GTA4 doesn't have licensed cars and manufacturers don't want to see their cars messed up to the extent that the safety of the driver is compromised. The only reason that games like Dirt can get away with it is because the cars in the game aren't road-going showroom cars; they've had safety features stripped for weight and body panels replaced with flimsier fiberglass and CFRP ones, so a Group N STi getting messed up isn't a reflection of the safety of the showroom car, anyways.

Since I'm replying anyways, the different surfaces is probably like the different between dirt road and off road, transitional surface where dirt roads meet paved roads, messed up roads, dirt vs. grass etc.

XBlade1X
XBlade1X

@Fernin-Ker That's what i originally thought too, but then I watched an interview (on IGN I think) with a guy who plays Forza a lot, and played Horizon with all the assists turned off, and it still felt very arcadey in comparison. I do hope the guys making this game see this as an issue for the fans and try harder to justify it, because apart from that, I am really loving the way this game is shaping up to be.

Test drive has ad hoc challenges for money aswell.

@se007 that's what the guy said, it's based on forza motorsport physics.

@DriftEJ20 Just btw, check out  Driver: San Francisco. That's the game where you unlock Pagani Zonda by smashing it to hell using several other licensed cars and a heavy truck or two.

@ahpuck played almost every racing game thats been out since i was a kid in the 80's. and no im no fan boy. i own gt5 too. this is still the best. though gt5 had some good ideas that forza needs to implement (inclement weather, rally etc.) i still think forza was better. especially when you turned off all the "arcadey" settings.

deadpeasant

LOL! You even get score or money or somthing for close misses on traffic and powersliding. Just like TDU!

@lildozer74  I played GT5 for 30 minutes before turning it off and never playing it again, I played Forza 3 and found it just as boring.
