Is Co-Op Play Coming to Consoles for Dragon Age III?
BioWare's Dragon Age team answers all your questions in Part 2 of this PAX East 2012 panel.
does player hav voice as DA 2,..cuz its important to me cuz I never played first version but DA 2 and I like it cuz the voice feature
For the guy asking about the voice over for the warden in DA3 there were voices for the warden in DA O so I don't see what the real issue would be just to add voices to any dialog the Warden had if the game took into account what voice you picked on that file.
Co op? Please for the love of god just make a proper DA:O sequel and stop with this fucking bullshit..
One of the best game I have played...not finished yet...
I bought the expansion and Dragon Age 2.
It runs well on my recent high end PC.
I am an old part time gamer and I really like this one.
There Goes my hope of controlling The Hero Of Ferelden (a.k.a The Gray Warden) again as the main hero...I REALLY hated Hawke and i REALLY wish we didn;t have to control him again or any other Character having a Surname already! That was ME and this is DA...If you are so insisted on using voice acting on the main hero could you at least NOT brand him with surname? The Gray Warden wad a perfect anonymous touch that EVERYBODY could connect to and place their Hypothetical name there. That's how we would feel that it is our OWN personal creation, our OWN hero.If you go and Brand him something just do it more like Origins. And for GOD's sake DO NOT GIVE US HAWKE again as the main hero PLEASEEEE!
This is the geekiest thing I think I've ever watched, had to turn it off half way before I hurt myself lol.
Dage 2 was a step back from the AMAZING original, but it wasnt a total garbage game as alot of people love to exagerrate about
Lets hope Dage 3 is as amazing as the first
There is no pit deep enough to hold my disdain for Dragon Age 2.
Baldur's Gate 2 to DAO was an interesting leap in awesomeness. It took years but tt let console gamers inon the fun that PC Gamers enjoyed years prior. Great story, great voice acting, great gameplay, and great tactics.
DA2 was the biggest derpfest marketed to the lowest common denominator I've ever seen. An idiot game, watered down and simplified so it could be marketed to idiots.
And from the comments here some people have no idea what kind of garbage they've eaten and just why they should be repulsed if DA2 makes a repeat with DA3. And EA/BioWare have not learned a damn thing.
Spare me the costumes and show me you care again.
I abloluty love all of DA! Origins, Legionds on face book, Journey (the online game), and DAII, plus all the DLC. I like haveing my charector talk. If DA gos MMO then I think that it wold be cool if we went back to what DA:O started with. Wardens and fighting Dark Spawn! Players should at least have the option to become a warden and venture into the Deep Roads and fight the Dark Spawn. We have encountered two of the origional magesters that ventured into the golden city in DA:Awakening and DAII:Legacy therefore the others must be somewhere and need to be elimiated. Also there where, what? Seven old gods and in DA:O that was the fith blight. Who's to say that another blight dosent start. Now I know that we have this whole civil war with the templars and the mages to contend with but I think that is something that DAIII will take care of. Also what happened to the warden after he went threw the Elivian with Morigan at the end of Whitch Hunt? Where did Hawk go? What is Flemmith really talking about when she is "reborn" on the top of Mt. Sundermount in DAII? Are thease questions for DAIII or a MMO to answer? I think that we just need to wait and see. The devolpers have new and bigger plans for DAIII and if should make up for the heart break of DAII. This is one of my favioret games and I will be playing DAIII. I just hope that it rocks!
Really wish someone had mentioned the COMBAT, as that was one of the major changes in direction. Would love to know what direction they were planning to go in terms of combat evolution for the next one.
Nonetheless I am very pleased with the results of this panel. They have proven once again that they listen to the fans and care about the type of experiences we are looking for.
Looking forward to further news on DA3.
DA2 was a good game empirically as in it had all of the elements that it needed to be good like gameplay, story, art etc. etc. It just wasn't good on the level that Origins was. I think the main problem is that the motivations behind the main character were dictated to the player, thus the player lost a massive amount of immersion. the art design was a bit too cartoony for my liking, but I'm willing to put up with it, however, the Ogre? I mean really, what was that thing? it had angelina Jolie lips or something. it wasn't this monstrosity. seeing the Ogre for the first time in the tower of Ishal was pretty scary. seeing the ogre in DA2 was kind of "eh, I'll kill it, np" and because you were purposely op when you did, you rip through it like rice paper. and when that happens, there is no fear of loss, which is great for immersion and building tension.
yeah da2 ant bad but its definetly a disappointment in comparison with da 1, it got nice new feature but is just a bit off in general compare to 1
I find it very corageous or very foolish of Bioware to actually dare going on with the development of a Dragon Age 3 game, after the shameful and embarassing failure that was Dragon Age 2.
I mean, this is almost as embarassing as James Cameron coming back to direct "Avatar 2", you know, everyone knows it's bad and everyone repudiates it, no matter how many members of the development crew do their best to post false review scores out there...
This clearly shows the Dragon Age Developers learned from their mistakes and know the path they must take to deliver a better game. If they can actually insert these changes into the game is another matter, because of the limited production times and publisher influence. My opinion towards Dragon Age II is that it was not a bad game by any means given the setting it took part on, it delivered more than i could imagine.
hmm if they cant talk about mod tools, it would be crazy if they were useing the Frostbyte 2 engine O_o
hope they dont dumb the pc version down next time though, I like the choice to do armor ETC. Also i want an option to scroll out like in DA:O, on another note no repeat maps (dungons) again. Would be nice to have the DA:O silent character again, but that seems to be out of the question.
I keep trying to pay attention to the Q&A... but I keep becoming distracted by Jessica Merizan... she definitely looked gorgeous cosplaying Ash and FemHawke
Dragon Age Origins and Awakening are two of my favorite games of all time. PC version at least (top down combat and tactics are two things that made the game for me). My heart was broken with DA2. It's just a failed representation of what Dragon Age was and more of an attempt to cash in on a successful venture. It shows. DA2 had some good elements, but everything else washed those down the drain. And then the drain became clogged and started wandering around the same damn corridor about 50 times. *shivers* However, I will play DA3. I will not be pre-ordering it though. Also I will not completely believe anything Bioware actually says, otherwise I'm setting myself up for disappointment. Thanks to Fable and ME3, I have learned my lesson one too many times. More open world? We'll see. Co-op? Meh, maybe. Use of the BF3 engine? Only time will tell...
I wasn't really disappointed on DA2 but I'm not excited for the hypothetical DA3. I'll still get the game though if ever released. :)
@elegance89 *Coughcough.* Baldur's Gate. *Coughcough.* Developed by Bioware. *Coughcough.* Optional Co-Op. *Coughcough.* Really great game.
@rhymesmatter As I've read, there were some opinions and ideas of fans that really struck a cord in my heart. Dragon Age isn't about the characters we play, but the world they live in. Thedas as a whole, is not only the world, but the main character. Who we play are merely pawns in the big scheme of Thedas. That being said, with Thedas being the focus, and not an individual hero, like in Mass Effect, as we followed Shepard all the way through, we see it from the different perspectives of very outstanding figures. The Warden, The Champion, and now...someone else, ready to shape Thedas in a new way.
@mrtypr The story was shit, the gameplay was shit
As a stand alone game it should have gotten reviews below 8, as a sequel to DA:O it was beyond disgraceful.
@Poodlejumper The console combat experince wasn't very the same , it was nothing like the PC version they made the combat like it was meant to be a action game and not a take your time and be strategic, they could have had both options for players who didn;t want to be slow, but on xbox I didn;t feel like I could control my characters well I could only set one attack at a time then it un-paused I preferrred the Star Wars KOTOR 1/2 approach, or something similar to the PC
@GDMS18 Well somebody had to I suppose.
yeh just like skyrim, and zelda
@Therimight Not really. But when you're hungry enough a Mickey D's cheeseburger can look like Filet Mignon.
@GreySeven yeah we asked them to copy and paste the same caves/areas multiple times haha
