@ evilweas I agree the game looks very clunky and stiff, need alot of polish to be playable or the story better be damn good. Also the characters seem to be a bit cartoony, Fablish in a way.
1:30 OH GOD, NOOOOOO!!!! Orlando Bloom is trying to destroy ANOTHER Pirate themed adventure! You already almost ruined Pirates of the Caribbean, what more do you want?! This time there is no Johnny Dep to save the day. T_T
looks alright, might not be the best game in the world but im getting board of stabbing elves in the face
EVEERYBODY F U!!!! This is PIRANHA BYTES here, they made best RPG in history of gaming (Gothic 2),so all of you f.a.g.s. better find anything more appropriate for you to comment like "...why is Mass Effect 3 so special?''....
is the combat type like dark souls except with an overdamaged backstab even having a shield on its back?
The graphics are pretty, but it doesn't look fun at all. Clunky combat, stiff and sluggish animations, and brings nothing new to the genre.
"Bringing role playing back into role playing games." Yeah i don't know about anyone else but this game looks to be doing the exact same things that rpg's have been doing for about 10 or more years now. Sorry bud but the things you are bragging about, concocting potions that affect the players, exploring an open world, conversing with npc's, the ability to not lock on to enemies, pulling out a pistol while sword fighting (fable 2/3 anyone?), etc. I will be impressed if anything original comes from this game.
Cautiously interested. I think it's an interesting period for games. I don't know about the execution, but it is set in a good period.
if you can't command a ship then this is pointless... All this game is, is a basic RPG with pirates skins... They clearly don't know what makes pirates interesting... Hopefully some day someone can make a real pirate game... Don't get me wrong I not saying this game sucks, I just wan't a pirate game that has everything that a pirate game should have, this game doesn't seem to have any of that... just the same old same old...
Crappy combat system AGAIN. Dear Developers at least try to put some work in this game. As for decent combat system look at gothic 2, witcher ...
I was interested...until I saw it is published by Deep Silver. After the garbage that was Dead Island, I will never buy another Deep Silver game.
Bethesda, Larian and Big Huge/38 Studios need to play more Pirahna Bytes games so they can learn to make open worlds without level scaling.
@Born_Lucky You can't bring up Alan Wake and compare scores. Even if Risen 2 is good, Alan Wake is in a whole different league of class
though there's way to much pirate stuff...it hasn't really been done well very much imo..so maybe I'll try this out.... I kinda wish this was more realistic though... like not everyone has to be pirate themed.... in reality there were never pirate worlds.... it was pirates among a ton of other kinds of people... Peasants, Navy, Traders, Nobles, pretty much anything ells you can think of back then... They were criminals in a world that didn't revolve around them...
This will be twice as good as Alan Wake, and have less flaws, and GS will give it a 7 or 7.5, while giving Alan Wake an 8.5. Any bets?
i think it has some great potentials and if the developers do it right, this game can be a big hit. but one thing bothers me, the death animations looks very limited. im not saying the combat system is bad, but seriously?? that's the third time i saw a guy held on his shoulder and went down in a 5 minute video.
About KoA.. i think Risen and Gothic's has way better combat, and it's not pretended open-world like in KoA either which has a very static and lifeless MMO-like world. Can't wait for this :)
An open world pirate RPG sounds brilliant, but the combat has to feel solid. From the glimpses I got here, it didn't look too good.
Great story and setting here, but the combat looks so clunky. KoA: Reckoning has spoiled me with its awesome combat, even if the setting and story is a bit generic. What good is a great setting if the gameplay can't stand up? This has always been my problem with the Gothics and Risen.
Well, blow me down and scuttle a Galleon! This game looks bloody fantastic! Will keep a keen eye on this one. Aye!
This game looks good in every way EXCEPT the battle system looks like it's using Amiga Commodore 1200's CPU's engine to function this terrible looking battle system -___-................ Two Worlds 2 was a great game, if I am to get another open world RPG, it would be Two Worlds 3 since I beat Skyrim.
We keep hearing about the pirates, but what I really want to know is, how does the second game tie into the story?
Yea, this has a lotta potential. With time line in that era, the story can be captivating as well. I hope for the best.
That looked pretty cool taking control of the npc and then having conversations with others, lots of gameplay possibilities with that
