No console playing virtual flyboy should be without this game. I've owned it for a week now and haven't put it down yet. Best dogfight action I've ever experienced on a console game.
i can't find a single copy of this in stores, even now. oh well, for those who have, keep the reviews coming!
i already play demo and we get nothing new about this kind of games, graphics are not that good, game sound not that good, and control scheme is kind of weird. ill say better for rent!
i wil not say this game is BAD but i wil not get the game Becose: the Demo for the ps3 realy **** , aspecialy the second mision. in the second mission (of hte demo)the controles were diverent and i tryed it alot but i could not get the plane to fly straight. i hope in the reall game you can decide the controles for yourself!!
I think the pc is getting it's own il2 game made by oleg maddox, the same guys who made all the other pc flight sim's from the il2 series. It's called 'Storm of war. Battle of britain' and i'm sure it's due to be released at the end of this year.
Why oh why are PC ppl complaining about this game? I haven't found a decent flight game for any of the consoles outside of Ace Combat....and I'm officially overplayed on that game. IL-2 is awesome (bought it last night). Sure, the control schemed is streamlined for the console controllers.......but it still delivers the closest thing to flight sim experience I've ever had outside of a PC game. Playing this game on Simulator difficulty is not for the faint of heart ;). Great graphics, great action, great game overall. I guess I'm the target audience for this game.......looking for something more satisfying than another arcadey flight game (like Blazing Angels), but not interested in the heavy commitment required to learn all the advanced settings and controls of a full PC sim.
Not too impressed by the demo. I think Ace Combat 6 had a better control scheme. Still recommend buying a joystick and playing Aces High II on the PC though.
I've played the demo, let me tell you, when you set the difficulty to Simulator, it's like flying a real plane, the controls are great, I like this game better than Blazing angels by far!!!!
good graphics, but doesn't seem like the controls are authentic. Looks like arcade-style controls.. what a bummer.
It looks exciting, pretty, and fun. I hope the title is as good as it looks and wish 1c all the luck in the world. Will it be as sim-ish as the rest of the series on the PC, of course not, but that doesn't mean it will be a bad game. There have been plenty of arcadey fun flight sims over the years. To answer the question why make a sequel to Sturmovik and not put it on PC, its possible they are either looking for a breakthrough hit that a typical flight sim can't give them if it was a strategic decision, or maybe Gaijin came to 1c with an idea for a game, 1c thought it was good enough to give it a go and they went for it. They wouldn't want to offend their PC base by putting an arcadey game on the PC, so they didn't. You can't please everyone all the time. In any case, I wouldn't call it a sequel.
Where is the PC version?! Makes no sense for me too!!! Seems to me that this sequel is not a flight sim... Nowadays only money is taken into account by developers... sad!
looks promising and online could be really fun to play just hope that we'll be able to drive some German jets like ME 262 and 163
ok, WHY Make a sequal to IL-2 Sturmovik, and NOT make it for PC!!! I completely agree with "PublicNuisance" down there! flight Sims are ALWAYS for PC! Heck, it's not even a flight sim, with such a small amount of buttons, on an xbox360/PS3 controller. If you've played previous IL-2 Sturmovik games, you'd know the amount of buttons to assign! the game looks incredible, but these game developers aren't making very many good decisions nowdays...
how can it be boring by playing infront of the pc? are you a retard or something hahah its about the game your playing, also the controls are much better then a controller since you have much more control over it.
looks good! Who cares about PC? The controls suck on PC and it's boring to play in front of it. PS3 or Xbox 360 it is!
I'm not sure if they stuck with the accurate plane/flight characteristics as the older IL-2 games on PC (which are also awesome). I don't like all the "jibber jabber" and background music while you're flying, it can get annoying. I do know that if you want to smoke people on PS3 with this game, you have to get Thrustmaster T-Flight.
I am not a fan of flight sims but it is sad to see that even PSP is getting a version but PC is being left out in the cold. You can't possibly tell me that the PC isn't more suited for flight sims than a console.
@valyndir But we PC people already have so many great options when it comes to IL2. I'm not saying Birds of Prey will be a bad game, but I doubt it will compare favorably to say, IL2 1946. So it has some post-processing thrown on top of the graphics, something I'd like to see in the PC versions someday sure....but the PC versions are complete and comprehensive as they are. I think it's great a hard-core sim company is making a console title.....if they can show the console crowd that sims exist, maybe the space-sim genre will come back....
@Sukhoi33 Because making exclusives mean they receive some millions from either Sony or Microsoft. Unless the developers have a lot of money, it's a great way to capitalize their projects.
Looks great, I love flight sims, and I have a PS3. I won't be buying this game though, since not putting this out for the PC is a complete BS move. Why sacrifice the ability for using joysticks, headset communication, potentially better graphics/sound in a game such as this?
This game seems like the greatest WWII simulator ever, but alas, no PC version. I can´t understand why...
This is going to be beautiful, no doubt. And I might actually fly a lot better using a ps3 controller than a joystick (however, I won't be able to assing a lot of buttons...) If possible, will buy this month.
Allready got my copy! So sweet! I cant wait to do some carpet bombing missions! I hope i dont shoot down some russians by mistake =) How does anybody think that a F4U Corsair would have done in europe? I dont want some WWII air nerd telling me that each theater had its own planes best suited for where they were and who they were fighting. I just want some normanl people to give me your thoughts on a F4 Corsair against a me-109 or any of the 109 variations
To bad for Ubi's HoE, a pure arcade flyer, while IL-2 covers arcade, realistic, and sim! HoE looks like Blazing Angles 2.5, a good game in itself, but IL-2 will pwn people. IL-2 is gonna be awesome, Gamestop allready gave me my pre-order t-shirts! Two by mistake, got one to wear and one to give away or whatever..
man its about time! i have been playing il2 for years now ( on p.c) i hope this one matches up to the p.c. version of this game. I know people who play this game as a second life. People who have been in a war before. they say it can never match the P.C version... but we find out Sept.8th
Hell yeah! If this trailer could run as a commercial on prime time this game would be a massive success, as it deserves to be, right off the bat.
If this had a movie action record playback, I would be just as happy sitting back and watching these stunning aircraft battling out in the skies. A must buy for sure!!!!
