Battle of Stalingrad looks pretty cool. If the campaign looks good enough, maybe I'll finally dive into a flight-sim like I've been wanting to for awhile.
Damn this game looks nice... I love Drew's choice for strange games. :) Gamespot seems a nice site... haven't checked it in a while. I so much want a "The Great War" game.
Ok.... after repeat exposure to Danny on Giantbomb and the recent crossover appearances of other Gamespot people, I've been checking out a load of Gamespot content and it's excellent... so I've joined... Where/how do I pay for subscription?
the thing about Military simulators like ARMA and even ghost recon to some extent and flight sims and racing simulators. Once I started getting use to all the buttons in games like ARMA and making my own missions and all the complexities that come with military sims, compared to simple mechanic games like Battlefield.
Sims grow on me if they are really in-depth.
After i get good at the mechanics in military Sims or racing simulators , when I go back to play games like Battlefield and COD after dealing with complex game mechanics in simulators, the simple games like Battlefield get incredibly boring REAL FAST for me now.
Because in simulators, I normally have to use quite a lot of the keyboard, so the mind is constantly occupied in military simulators with many different things, just moving troops around or having to use a lot of the keyboard to manage many aspects of the game world, so im fully engaged non-stop in the whole experience just because of its complexity.
Going back to simple mechanics in games like Battlefield after playing a really in-depth simulator is almost like going backwards for me now,
Regarding flight sims and the barrer of learning, I think these games should take a look at Shogun 2.
obviously not a flight sim, but... the use of an in-game optional character adviser popping up help and a built in game wiki, is super useful and probably even more useful in a game like IL-2 Sturmovik, the sterile instruction books and incredibly unwelcoming.
I just recently returned to playing World of Warcraft and would like a WoD beta key so I can test out garrisons which sound like they will be a fun and interesting addition to the game.
I've played the religiously since it came out, albeit I lost faith in the game during M.O.P. I spent countless days and nights raiding with some of the best alliance guilds, in classic I was healing during naxx and AQ progression. Being given a chance to critique flaws and found would mean a lot to me, to save some people the pain of the redundancy of M.O.P.
o.O very excited to see the new content, would love to get into beta testing to have fun there with my team :D
I would like a WoD beta key so I can have the chance to test the dungeons and raids with the rest of my guildies, who all already have beta :(
I'm still lookin for a beta key! Hoping to test out some of the new mechanics and do a bit of raid testing with my team.
I'm excited to see the new dungeons and the raids, since i'm one of the tanks of my guild and almost all of them except me has beta i would really appreciate one key ;)
@banicabolnica Gamespot can be a nice site if you want it to be, with a lot of enthusiastic and entertaining people offering you good content. But if you want to it can also be a horrible site, filled with left-wing idealists, whining about sexism and games being art, and biased and bribed reviewers. It's your call.
@extint0r They don't do paid subscription anymore.
@uninspiredcup ARMA is my favourite game right now, because 1 i can make my own ghost recon style missions but 2 its challenging and tough (depending on how you make your missions) and has a learning curve.
@uninspiredcup Flight sims are for elite gamers. They don't need advisors or easy-to-learn tutorials. High difficulty level is in the blood of this genre.
@DigitalDame How many keys went out?
@DigitalDame not a key again :((
@Shunten GB flight club represent !
