If 'Ocean's Eleven' and Gauntlet Had a Baby, It Would Be Monaco
Chris Watters heists a demo of Monaco on the show floor of PAX East 2012.
Still looking for a good video to judge this by, heh. Just heard about the game today, sounds cool, and sounds like it could have some fun, strategic play with the classes...with friends. So far, all the videos have featured less than impressive play, though... Hell, these guys just kept walking past the objective (you know, what all the arrows were pointing to)!
it'd be awesome when modders change the classes to Solid Snake, Sam Fisher , Adam Jensen and agent 47. mods are awesome!
Awesome concept. But unless (which is probable) I just don't understand everything thats going on, the gameplay sort of turned me off, might have benefited from a little more explanation/slower pace for starters
Looks awsome, but it would be nice to watch some ppl that know how to play. they made it look like a freakin mess
This video may be a bit hard to comprehend because it's four players, playing locally, and all their FOVs are going all over, but if you play it single player or online multiplayer you will only need to worry about your own field of view, making it much easier to understand. I've been following this game for a long time now and can not wait to get it!
Hey this game actually looks kinda good. Be interesting to see how it works out, but I don't think I'd actually buy it. Syndicate eat your heart out.
....dafuq just happened? I seriously have no idea what's going on in that game demo, it might be due to the fact that the people playing it seem to be doing a terrible job, but still.
the graphics look really bad and boring. 3/4 would have been better IMO. I played this game when it was called Keystone Capers.
I liked the title screen, but the actual game play looks like a terrible mess. In Gauntlet you always visually know what is going on. Bright, flashing, overly saturated colors and screaming noises on screen doesn't make me think of stealth... "If 'Ocean's Eleven' and 'Geometry Wars' had a baby"
Is this what it's like when my parents and non-gaming friends watch me play games... They say they have no clue what is going on... I feel that now.
This looks really creative, but don't know how it will actually play, the visual style really confuses me >.
Seems really interesting. One question though, what's the point of the Locksmith when the Mole can dig through any wall in the game?
This was one of the best games on the show floor, probably top five, in my opinion. It's hard to explain, but it's beautiful in person, and entertaining to listen to PAX-goers play and chat about what to do. I talked with some of the staff, and there are lots and lots of old-school easter eggs, as well. Players kept sneaking by this one security guard, and the staffer says, "Nobody ever stops to read what the guard is typing." Lots of small details like that are sure to make this a compelling play. Also a little upset that Dannyodwyer is a staffer. Now I can't upvote his comments. *Edit* Digging though my bag, I found their card. The game site is www.monacoismine.com.
This really should have been played by a dev, so he could explain what's going on. This video is just all over the place and I have no idea what's going on. Sounds like an interesting game though.
That looks so awesome but I have no idea what's going on. It's slightly more user friendly than Dwarf Fortress. :P
He says it has local multiplayer and 'network' so I assume thats LAN and not online, a bit confused. Apart from that the game just looks messy.
