This franchise has sadly turned into just another shooter. The original splintercell games were based on the fact that Sam was invisible and basically didnt exist. He would be in and out without anyone knowing he was there but now they have turned it into another run-and-gun. "Splintercell" shouldnt even be in the title...
Cannot wait for this game!
Conviction was my favourite - the reason being, was because finally I wasn't FORCED to use a silencer and non-lethal weaponry. I like the direction this series has taken, equally as much as I like the direction the Metal Gear series has taken with MGS4
Enough with the execute ability... It was about trying to be invisible, counting pistol bullets and thinking tactics and now this is just another action game with way too much ammo and lack of tactics...
One of the biggest draws for me to the series was the stealth gameplay. It is still present but unfortunately does not play the same role. However, game looks like a blast!
game looks great, I lament that they got rid of Michael Ironside, not because of the voice, but because his voice was literally Sam Fisher. You hear his voice and you know its Splinter Cell. They are making Sam Fisher younger and younger. I like the new abilities because the only way you could kill someone quick and quiet in the old games was by a silent kill. Head shot would not kill in the old games even when they did not wear helmets, yet in conviction headshots actually worked. the mark and execute system was great and with the addition of the kill in motion was cool also. They should make ARcher from Conviction the lead and have Sam Fisher play the role of Lambert from the old Splinter cell games, while still having him as a playable role in the game.
@budah02921 this game should look modern because it take place after Splinter Cell Conviction and all the gear he has are like prototypes that the government him to test.
@nikola_paganini Sam was born in 1957 and the cold war lasted from 1947 to 1991 but calmed down during 1962 so Sam fisher would have only been around 5 then but he was sent to Irag in 1991 which could have been before or after the end of the cold war. i do see where your coming from when you say is like conviction 2.
Splinter Cell Conviction 2. That should be the title. It's just improved Conviction. Looks like they're going to milk newcomers now, the young folks. Pitty. About Fishers age, developers said he'll be in his 20's during the cold war in this one. ''Splinter Cell'' is officially dead. As a true fan, I'm not supporting this with my money.
It looks interesting, but what happened to the classic Splinter Cell gameplay? Lots of games are getting modernized to become more violent despite it being unnecessary. Not ALWAYS a terrible thing, but it feels like they're moving away from what they've built on.
@Alexcmuller HELL YEA
@thereal-15-cent no call of duty third person warfare is what you want the same thing over and over again with nothing new
@thereal-15-cent LOL totally agree
@sandrin it's called evolution just play mario brothers on nintendo and stay off the internet conviction was awesome the series evolved you can still not be seen but if you are you can also actually be a bad ass and not see game over seriously all you haters are really pissin me off
@madgame23 I liked the part about Archer. In Conviction the Coop story was better than the main story in my opinion. I like Sean and all, but I think it is time to bring a new character to the series, once gameplay is diferent and Michael Ironside is gone.
@madgame23 amrk and execute is a really bad idea its making the game a lot easier. At first 4 splinter cells you had to be quiet and now you just attack... its meaningless
@nikola_paganini your not a splinter cell fan i've played all of them the original is my second favorite to conviction you know why because if im spotted i can improvise and come up with a badass escape on the fly its called evolution and all these splinter cell is dead folks should go hide in the shadows
@marinermick and that's why w=nobody gives a dam what you say
