When playing Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, you'll need Spell Energy to do many things in the game. Spell Energy doesn't accrue over time, you'll need to walk around and find Inns and Greenhouses. Those two places are the most reliable places to recharge your Spell Energy. At an inn, you'll need to trace the arcing line at the bottom of the screen. Depending on what you get, you'll receive one or two points or sometimes a whole lot more. Greenhouses are similar to Inns but they sometimes provide Spell Energy in smaller amounts. Most of the time, you'll receive ingredients but sometimes you'll get a few points of Spell Energy.
