Soon enough those girls won't even need to introduce themselves! =)
Best of the best, enough said! =D
Glad to see all the comments on here are about the actual game, and not "oh look two cute girls", oh wait.
And excuse me for pointing out the obvious that since horror games naturally involve death, something like blood splatter will follow. Why don't they just convert all blood in the game into magical rainbows, because people are obviously made up of rainbows and puppy dogs.
Missed you Jess, seemed like you were away for a year, and Zorine, I can
understand that because of tough schedule you guys skipped this week’s HOH… and
The Evil Within is a survival-horror game, and it is put in the action genre... action describes RE :’D
I'm still really excited for this game. Another game horror franchise I would LOVE to see returned, is the "Project Zero" games where your "weapon" was nothing more than a camera which could capture ghosts' spirits. I loved that series and really hope they bring it back worldwide.
When this game was announced first i was somewhat excited for it, but now im more like its just ok.
Mikami says he wants to bring survival horror back, but somehow, by making the perfect blend of action and horror, and for what ive seen of the game so far and heard, it might end up being the same old regular action game but with a horror lore genre combination.
The thing that still interests me though, is how important will traps be, and how significant are the transforming enviroments.
Jess and Zorine! You guys look like you're really enjoying yourselves. I can see it in your faces. Keep it up!
Good new scary stuff, can't wait.
I never cared for the linear nature of most horror games. It's all prefab and has no replay value. Are there any that mix things up and give the player more freedom to explore and find new scares?
I heard Mikami is trying to revive the Survival Horror genre with this game. He's taken some elements from other horror games and trying to get the mixture right, hopefully some original stuff too. I hope this game does become a show stopper, it's been a while since I played a survivor horror with a sound risk and reward system.
so thats where those two were, didnt see any House of Horror vid so I thought everyone took a holiday to break in gta v
I like the name Psycho Break.
Made up of the same words as Swedish slang "psykbryt", for those moments of (often temporary) rage when someone pushes their monitor off their desk because of software problems, or similar craziness.
I'll start using it in English too from now on =]
(Sorry for the language lessons, I can't seem to stop doing that)
Glad game devs keep supporting HoH. Let it never run short of games.
lol, "psycho Break" sounds like slang for visiting a psyciatrist :p
@Zorine where can I find more info on what games will be showcased at TGS 2013? I visited the official website, but couldn't find any schedule or showcase-plans. Please help :p
@kiramasaki actually, there is game that fits the description called Lollipop Chainsaw, and no I am not recommending it.
@kiramasaki stop digging already youre halfway to china
@yeah_28 Haven't seen enough to make a decision...either way I don't mind if its similar to RE4 but that just means it won't be horror rooted. One thing I do know that I don't want to see is co-op, hey you wanna get scare with me, is just not scary. Don't over power the character you play is the other.
@PacoTaco look out for paranormal: the town... random generated scares and interactions... high hopes.
@PacoTaco Resident Evil, Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill.
Classic survival horror was non linear in its nature, but the genre pretty much died already, with most of its other gameplay concepts.
open to the public
@riotinto876 you should get out more. No offense to these ladies.
@riotinto876 and my dong
@riotinto876 and elephants
@riotinto876 bunnies are cute
@Neo_OnionKnight please don't add co-op. :P
@nongbang Um duh? I am sure someone won't think she is but the majority of the human race that is either heterosexual or lesbian will think so.
@LADIES_MAN_2013 Now that's creepy
@_Judas_ @ZorineI don't know how helpful this may be, but we used the site's list here: http://expo.nikkeibp.co.jp/tgs/2013/en/visitor/list/index.html
Hope that helps!
@superbuuman @yeah_28 Well yes co-op in my opinion is also detrimental for the horror experience, but as i said, i think he just wants to make an action game with horror painted on top of it, and if thats case, letting you play with a friend wont be so terrible, it might do more good than bad in the general context of the game's existence.
And about overpowering the character i also agree its important no to do it, but again, thats if you seek for true survival horror gameplay, if not, he could do it and it'd fit.
I suppose the most important thing we need to know is what precisely is that perfect blend of horror and action for Mikami, how much of each one, do both refer to gameplay and lore? or one for each?, the horror is in the lore, we can easily look at it, but then undoubtely the action will dominate the gameplay aspect, how much that happens, we'll have to wait and see.
@metalblinga Since when is Vietnamese currency cute?
@littlegoodson @yeah_28@superbuumanYep, though by far the worst problem for me was always the gameplay.
See, today you ask people about survival horror and they mention dark corridors, scary monsters, or maybe not being able to fight like in Outlast, etc. But few actually talk about the gameplay of survival horror, it contains many specific variables and mechanics, and actually a whole design philosophy that governs most of the games.
Dead Space had a better horror atmosphere and also SH gameplay than RE4, but if you want to look for a game thats truly more of a balance between survival horror and action shooter, all you need is Resident Evil Dead Aim.
Not a very good game, but its concept is what we care about.
