House of Horrors: Doom 3 BFG Highlights
Jess and Zorine trade gloomy forests for a demon-infested space station as they shoot their way up and down the halls of Doom 3 BFG.
I'm old school so i really enjoy playing some Doom, takes me back to my PC days of gaming. So far this game is all that i thought it would. I just wish the loading would be faster, can't wait to get through more levels.

I am pleasantly surprised to see Zorine is quite a good gamer, she knows her way around a keyboard and mouse.
when you were complaining about the ammo, I was thinking about my experience in the original version where you never had enough ammo for anything but the sub machine gun.
Ah, Doom this game saga is something dear to my heart, I remember my second game system the N64 and doom being one of my first and one of my favorite games MAN how time flies, It wasn't until I came into contact with the Silent Hill games that doom was the horror game for me any way I love young lady's doing this type of commentary in fact I just love women who play and enjoy video games perfect girlfriend criteria for me he he , anyway keep up the great work and try to get some good diverse game selection in the future.
According to The Rock, BFG officially stood for Bio Force Gun. This was revealed at the movie panel back when they promised they would stay true to the game series, which... it totally in no possible conceivable way didn't.. So take it any way you want it, but I doubt the scientist who engineered it dubbed it the Big Fucking Gun, seems more like a marine kinda thing to do :)
I recommend any of the condemned saga I’m not saying is a great game but it has his moments and that scary tension. Nice playthrough girls keep that way.
My goodness the frantic play and skipping from scene to scene is sort of making me sick, in a good way! :) It is really fun listening to the commentary though. Having the shoulder mounted flashlight really does play to today's gamers. With the swap flashlight mechanism you really had to go slow through the corridors, and this just added tons of suspense and overall fun!
Funniest line of the week: Zorine: "You guys were doing some freaky $hit in here, no wonder the whole place got shot to hell." Hahaha.
I recently completed the BFG version of Doom 3 and it's expansion packs. Am looking forward to a Doom 4. I'm sure I heard they have gone back to the drawing board for some reason though.
I personally found that once you got over the foreboding setting the game relied far to heavily on dog-through-window type moments. Still a great game. In a fourth I think some kind of co-op aspect would be great or a story that followed a splintered group of marines so aspects of co-op and lone wolf could be incorporated.
Also, man those mechanical keyboards are LOUD! I have heard so many good things but I don't think I can deal with that much clackety-clack.
I anticipated Doom 3 so much before it first came out, I ended up enjoyed it but it was really nothing all that special. In the end it was just another FPS with good graphics and the label DOOM slapped on it, which I guess is a lot more than you can say for the 2005 film.
Zorine is cute...She could be selling me time shares in Hades and I'd just sit there happily listening :p Also...horror games rock. That is all
Doom 3 was actually the last game to really scare me, probably because of a mix of the great graphics for its time and the fact that id usually has some pretty messed up stuff in their games (too bad you guys didn't make it to hell). Dead Space was almost old hat to me by the time it came around.
i thought dead space was pretty scary, even with all the ammo everywhere. i think it's because i wasted so many shots because of system lag...yeah, my computer then was totally below minimum specs
Fun to watch, i love how Zorine just blasted the downed marine without hearing him out. Was also funny to see Jess jump when the zombie was right around the corner lol.
I really wanted to see the reaction to the scene with the bloody footprints that you have to follow.
I declare bullshit... A 680 will easily run this game along side an i7. Titans and 690's have no purpose for gaming at this point in time (the Titan isn't even designed to be a 'gaming' card). Even Crysis 3 will run perfectly on one 680.
I'm also pretty intrigued to know which keyboard you're using there.
It's a Razer mechanical board right?
Can anyone suggest (from personal experience) some good mechanical keyboards with an actual click?
I watched the full stream this time :] Totally worth it.
Laughed so hard when you shot that guy by mistake and then started questioning if some of the bad guys you just killed were actually good guys. The comedy was lost in the highlight vid. I'll try to catch a live stream next week.
Oh yeah and what is it with in game mirrors. The reaction to the mirror image is always delayed so it looks like someone else. Laggy reflections...
@LeMeAtOm Yeah it's hard not to have a crush on good gamer girls, both of them. Love you two!
@DiamondSlicer Thanks! I have been playing competitively for a while now.
@CloudChaosX Definitely added that one to the list!
@gkhalifa I share the same opinion, the thing is that maybe they get frustrated for the gameplay of the game i mean the control scheme and the way the control response in the character movement although we have seen here some games with bad control scheme hahaha
@Samslayer I was very sick =[ but it was very fun to watch.
@Saketume Nope but they're on the agenda!
@Psycold yeah hmm I need to research this before I buy one. I know there are a variety of switches with different resistances and all that.
Clicking sounds ruined arcade controls already. I'm a fan of leaf switches and when they started changing to micro switches I was one sad panda.
@Evan-0-Matic i have a 690gtx what`s wrong with that?...........
@naryanrobinsonI run with the Corsair Vengeance K60. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles or macro keys (if you are into MMO's) you find in some other mech keyboards but it is a solid well made keyboard. It uses Cherry MX Red switches (better for gaming then the blue IMO) and has movable sculpted and textured keys which are great if your into FPS's. I bought mine on sale at Newegg for under $ 100.00 with free shipping.
If you are into MMO's or RTS's look at the K90. It is about $20.00 more, has the programmable macro's, and a back-lit keyboard but doesn't come with the sculpted keys.
I've never owned a Razor keyboard but I have had poor customer service with them in the past so I avoid their products in general.
@naryanrobinsonCorrect! It's the Razer Black Widow Ultimate. It uses Cherry MX Blue switches. Not sure if it'll give you that "actual click" you're looking for as I have only used Razer mechanical keyboards, sorry!
@Saketume It's very hard to retain the feel of the stream in the short highlights vid unfortunately =[
I'm thinking brown switches would probably suit me best. The bigger problem is not spending a fortune on one with a Swedish layout. They're hard to find. Most mechanical keyboards for sale here are either US or "Nordic" which is a combination of 3 different country layouts >,.<
@_Roo_ Super helpful info, thanks for the recs!
It wasn't meant as criticism. Well maybe self criticism.. I've been meaning to watch this live but for some reason or another I keep missing it.
@Saketume@_Roo_@naryanrobinsonYou're welcome. I know it won't help you with the specialty keys but it's fairly easy to swap around the keys on all of the mech. keyboards I have ever messed around with. Good luck with your search. You won't regret the upgrade.
