@fonzii, diablo nor the DA is not mmo. they talk about action MMO which is very new. it kinda funny you talk crap gw2 when you rate gw1 a 10.
it isnt classic anymore (like dragon age 2)!!!! better play it on xbox (cheap games)... Diablo will crush it
I've been looking forward to this for awhile now. Looks like it's coming along nicely. Guild Wars was the only MMO I could ever get into. Probably because you weren't level grinding for a ton of hours before you got to the fun stuff.
@wexorian There actually won't be any healers in GW2. Look up "What's Your Style? Jon Peters Talks About Combat" on Google for more info. It's a great article if you want to know more about combat in GW2.
Can't wait for this game! Loved & played Guild Wars everyday for a long time, still do time to time. I'm sure to be playing this just as much...
AWESOMEEEEEEEE! I love how they made the battles active, rather than running to a group and just clicking 1-8 on the number pad. Being able to move out of the way sounds amazing for pvp. Can't wait to see how this works out! (In pvp and arenas!)
@Cratespoof lol Me too, i must admit starting off like that is interesting and the moving and dodging but he minus well have said this is much cooler than killing things at level 1 on WoW lmao, but still doesnt compare to WoW endgame or complexity, looks kindof fun though
@Mon6ana; that'll happen regardless. As long as theres lag they'll always be laggy players. It happened all the BLOODY time in Gears of War 2!!!! But I persevered and it still was fun until people started taking advantage of the glitches as well whilst they lagged away. So no matter what that'll occur regardless.... And I hate it but I live with it.
@Dandyslayer13 u r right but imagine if u or ur opponent have lag, how will u attack him,, he will keep dodging ur attacks not because he is skilled, but because he is moving in a different way because of his lag.. it reminds me of WoW when u miss all ur attacks
@jmac1; Dodging once consumes 5% of the energy bar. So you can dodge all you want but you'll be chugging up energy faster than a hobo chugs whiskey!
I like the dodging but it looks so effective that a cool-down timer may be warranted. One dodge every 5 seconds maybe?
@Mon6ana; I hope the dodging is in PvP! Its one of the reasons I want this game! It forces you to get in to the game not just click and wait! I NEED THIS GAME NOW!!!! lol.
u can dodge attacks my scrolling around !! how can we kill ppl who have lag then !! and how can we attack if we have some lag !! but in the end, this game looks very good, I might try it, although I didnt tried at GW game before, only World of Warcraft
there will be some classes witch will be more tank and there are healers too, But You can avoid death, we need more info on raids :)
Dont need healing and tank class??? Yea right games always say that but if there is not one dedicatied wipe fest here i come.
manual dodging greatly worries me; pve could be too easy if you're good at dodging, or horrible if you die in a couple hits because you're supposed to be dodging most attacks; pvp will be extremely difficult to hit other players
Wow, you can dodge. This is an adventure game plus MMO like Lord of Shadows or Demon Souls. I am game! Can't wait for this. I was thinking of Diablo 3, but the gameplay on this one is way different to the usual click click MMO. Finally! My fantasy that MMO will have a hint of fighting game ingredient is coming true...muahahaha.
I hate MMOs but Guild Wars is an exception, it has a decent community and you don't have to pay.I played Guild Wars tonnes and never even completed it, i used an archer and i wasn't the best but i found being a more supportive role with a good team was incredible fun. I really need to think about upgrading the computer, i can't even play the original Guild Wars on this thing and Guild Wars might be the thing to make me finally do it.
@simon1812 Yeah, thats the why everytime I play GW I got pissed off; imagine that: you get home after work/school, you have 1-2 hours only to spend in front of you PC. You start GW to have some fun before you go to bed, and spend those freaking little hours waiting for you party to be assembled and ready, once the AI party members aren't that good after all. It's a good game indeed; but frustrating sometimes, specially if you don't have literally a full day off.
waradler: "...In warhammer timer was like 10min+ which pissed me off, hope in GW2 timer will be shorter or event will be instanced...." have you played GW lately? I am willing to wait as much as 10 minutes and even a little more if thats all it takes to get into the action, it will be better than 1-3 hours waiting for a freaking monk to show up so a team can finally be assembled and ready to go.
With all due respect, don't talk with your hands, specially when they are beetween the camera and the screen.
this game looks awesome and ill def wanting to get it as soon as it comes out. But. i think theyre putting a lot of interest in the first starting levels to draw you in. Just like the first 20 levels of AoC were good but after that it kinda got mundane. Im not saying that after you do this first level everything else will be bad, but just that youll prob go back to killing the equivalent to rats until the next dynamic event
