although i like the idea of not needing to have a healer, i still like being able to heal people lol
@simon1812 I don't think so. I adressed ArenaNET about the game wether it is old tech-friendly over forum/twitter and etc. and they said that currently they are "experimenting" and making the game run on machines with parts that "you don't even use these days" ... so hopefully that means that the game will not requier a hardware upgrade ... and that makes me very happy since I was planning to play it on the move with my old laptop with 3G internet :P However having top-notch PC would be nice since you can then enjoy the game in amazing detail and not to mention FULL 3D supported ... @Slagar ArenaNET announced back some time ago that there will be closed and OPEN beta later in order to see how the game will handle 100 or so players on an elite ( like this one in the video ) event and if needed tune it a bit. @4love10 if something so minor make you so negative towards the game ... don't play it :P I would actually welcome this big chest ... couse I would be looking dumb from side to side looking for my reward after this battle :D
ok now that I have calmed down, the hype levels had subsided and my bonner is gone , this battle looks an awful lot like the one with the shatterer, and that kind of worries me. are all the battle with the dragons going to be like this? the dragon shows up at the precise spot where most cannons and siege weapons are aiming at,players help the siege guns do their job while keeping small enemies at bay and ensuring nothing else hinders the siege weapon's efforts? no worries the dragon will remain at the same spot the whole fight, see what I mean? just saying it is absolutely awesome but Im hoping to see something different for further boss fight. what if the next dragon is fought in open sea and the players move by galeon thing or whatever u call those boats, yeah something like PotC at worlds end but with a dragon instead of the kraken and a flee of ships instead of just the black pearl, and the dragons goes and sink a ship full of players who may die or swim to the next ship or attack the dragon while it dives... just saying...arenanet dont turn off your imagination just yet.
Just wanted to remind everyone to stop by the Guild Wars 2 forum page and check it out. Though there are a few bad apple's, we mostly have a knowledgeable and helpful community.
oh my goodness that was awesome!!! release the freaking game already!!! PS im gonna need to upgrade my PC for this dont I?
Buy To Play make more sense even the sound of it give u a hint that you need to buy in order to play. Buy To Play: buy the retail game box, and you play the game with NO subscription.
You guys are arguing about free to play? Saying that free to play means that you don't pay anything? Not true. If you pay for a game once, and you PLAY IT FOR FREE EVERY MONTH, that is free to play is it not? You're paying to BUY the game, but it's free to play it. If you buy a game and pay every month it's PAY TO PLAY because you are paying every month... Sounds like you argue for no reason.,
@Crack-Hor Im talking about monthly subs of course. So claiming free to play is not that false. I get what you mean though im talking as you understood about monthly fees which in the end you save up to 150 euros per year VS a pay to play ( sub alone ). For such quality and big scale game as GW2 beats many subs oriented games.
@AzatiS you say GW2 is F2P? Dont you mean it doesnt require a monthly subsciption? F2P or Free to play means its Free as in you dont have to purchase the game or pay a subscription fee to play it. Examples of F2P are MapleStory, Quake Live or Heroes of Newerth
@jamescalise I kinda agree. I bought first GW on its first day , after 2 months i went back to wow. Even if it was good game and introduced a strong "Arena" pvp system which WoW copied afterwards games felt like an RPG with online elements than a true MMORPG. With GW2 im speechless...If i bought GW on day 1 for sure ill do the same for this. And i bet i wont play for only a month or 2. Btw Asura looks awesome and funny. But maybe ill go for a BIG cat!!
This is beyond epic. I haven't had this gobsmacked "PLEASE GIVE ME THE GAME" feeling for sooo long. Us MMO fans have been praying for something this awesome for years. Devs are finally gonna have to step up their game beyond churning out unimaginative cash-grab WoW clones (EA/Bioware being the latest offenders with SW:TOR) to compete with this.
@carlitosWay Im not in mood to do all this @#$$ just because you dont accept the truth and facts which are 1) Most MMORPGers thought/still think that good graphics in mmorpgs arent viable since there will be FPS loss when an area will get crowded. So they defend the graphic loss and bring this example.Period 2) GW2 is graphically , the best mmorpg weve seen todate. 3) GW2 is FREE TO PLAY so that makes its value even higher ( graphic wise at least ) vs competition , specially vs pay to play . 4) GW2 is better graphically than TOR, Rift , Eve, AOC and everything weve seen till now. 5) The dragon you see as something not that exciting thing looks way better than MANY high-end Pay to play dragons out there..!!!! And he is the....little one! I dont beleive i had to write my claimings for second time so you understand them. Tell me again where you dont agree with my claimings. Im ""bashing"" what i think will FLOP and what i think is bad. And i wont ask for your permission for that nor i care if you agree. People got different tastes. Live with it. Btw here is a fantastic TOR gameplay video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PYlRac1510 Compare it with the above yourself and judge again. That was the video i "bashed" by saying im not impressed at all with all this fuss about it. Are you impressed? And for the last laugh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zkCWdk1u2U&feature=related check 3:32...
@Azatis Im willing to paypal you cash if you can post on here ANYTHING i have said on any D3 forums. I dont talk about D3 because i dont even follow it anymore. Only forums i do are ones from my old guild in SWG and misc. forums not related to video games. So post what ever you want, i welcome it. Im dying to see what you bring up. And as far as opinions go, i have one just the same as you. And just like you like to bash TOR videos (this is where me and you have had discussions before, NOT D3), i have my right to criticize what i think is right and wrong in this video. Or in this game for that matter. Or in any game. @khimeron13 The point i was trying to make is not that this game isnt interesting. Ive admitted to everything that i personally thing is unique and good in this game that has not even yet been released. I wanted to know what in this video is different from other games, minus the non-raid grouping. I personally liked the Shatterrer better. Seemed much more intense and tougher. This one went by really quickly (dont know if thats just because of the demo or not).
@CarlitosWay You are right, but the great thing about this game is that it has it all. SW:TOR only has the story and universe, but regular combat and no dynamic events. RIFT has good graphics and good dynamic events, but not a great and personal story and prett flawless, but regular MMO combat. GW2 on the other hand does really have it all, like I said before. YOu've even admitted that the underwater combat is very unique. Most of the other things it offers, like dynamic events, questing, and story are just more improved than they are in other games. The graphics are topnotch and the combat and action overall are new. Please stop saying that you don't know what's so special about this game because lots of people have told you and now you're just getting annoying.
@CarlitosWay I remember you , trolling and bashing everyone that having different opinion than yours in DIABLO 3 forums. Dont try the same here. That is my opinion and wont change. At least im backing it up with reasons , not just my opinions. Also about WoW trolls , im not playing wow atm , its summer time. And besides you dont know my opinion about WoW so let alone call me wow troll. Im not defending anything , since im not a GW2 neither SW:TOR gamer yet so you failed here. Just stating my opinion from what ive seen till now from both games. Rift , AoC and EVE are not even close , what are you talking about?!!! Dont panic and put words in my mouth i never said. I never said things like these as ender of all MMOs or something. Keep the troll on D3 forums please. I wont bite .
damn...thumbs up again for the GW team...the thing is, its free to play, the other was also free to play....so i hope its good. The first one was ok but for visual affect i saw nice, hope the gameplay is amazing!!!!
wowwwww superb ... and about the dragon death i actually liked it... what do u guys expect ...anyway im blown away..awsome job arenanet .
@Azatis You can try and diss my knowledge of MMOs, but at least i can speak about more than one with some knowledge. You just bash everything that isnt GW2.
@Azatis Ok bro. Whatever you say. Apparently i am new to the MMO world, simply because i dont follow WoW trolls... God forbid i started palying years ago with that pathetic Runescape. You see, you are too worried about defending this game. Not a single person criticized this video for its graphics. Look at all the comments and show me one. Everyone loves it. Even i do. And i know TOR graphics dont compare to this, i never said it did. But there are games out now that can compare to this: Rift, AoC (not SOO much but its decent), Aion, EVE (once you see the bigger ships, the detail is phenomenal.) This game is great from the looks of it, but you swear like its the ender of all MMOs, and its not even close to release yet.
It looks good but I am still skeptical, I also see remnants of that Asian/Korean Aionish look.. like with the #'s on screen and parts of the UI, and for some reason that is visually displeasing to me. But from the footage I have seen the game over all looks impressive. I just don't get the B2P model though.. they can really sustain an epic game with no sub money coming in? Do they sell you items that make you more powerful? cause that sorta turns me off. I think I heard its just cosmetic things but I guess we shall see.
@CarlitosWay Then sorry but you are new into MMORPG scene if you havent seen 9 out of 10 MMORPG defenders claiming MMORPGs cant/dont have good graphics like single player games because they are crowded. In fact tell me 1, not 2 , just 1 MMORPG that is getting close to Guild wars 2. Thats ONLY aion and thats not even close. Tera seems good but its also 2012 game so thats about it. As for SW:TOR... No comment... Im gaming MMORPGs since 2003 and constantly MMORPG defenders talking about low graphics as a requirement for a solid frames gaming. GW2 set the bar way too high for a FREE 2 PLAY mmorpg. All other pay to play games should be ashamed. Period. ( who cares about how dragon dies , ive seen worse . In the end this "little dragon" is far better than other mmorpgs high-end bosses...period!)
Think I will be playing with an Asura then... How epic is it to kill such an immense dragon with such a tiny character :P Not to mention they're super cute and funny....
This game is visually beautiful. I been waiting for GW2 for a while now, and it looks like the wait was well worth it.
@azatis I have never seen anyone say that an MMO cant have good graphics. About 75% of the MMOs that have come out the past two years have pretty good graphics. This is definitely is in the top level of graphics. I love the detail on the dragons. And the fights do look epic. More than likley i will be giving this a go. One thing i dont like tho is how the dragons die. Doesnt seem to epic to me. They just jump up and hide somewhere.
Just to let everyone who is new to GW2 know, Guild Wars 2 has ***NO MONTHLY FEES*** It will be supported the same way the first game (which has had over 6 million active users) was supported. Through initial box sales and micro-transactions. I know micro-transactions turns off a lot of people, but these are only cosmetic and do not give players any type on in game advantage.
ArenaNet never ceases to amaze me with their design philosophy and execution. the more i learn, watch and read about this game, the more it makes everything else seem mediocre /sigh. now what am i going to play until GW2 is released?
