This is truly amazing! Finally an MMO with breathtaking graphics! I almost can't believe it...the most unbelievable part is the question of why other MMO developers out there aren't producing this level of quality in graphics?? It feels so strange now after seeing THIS benchmark here. Frankly, I only played Guild Wars 1 for a couple of days and got bored, while I played WoW almost religious for years, but not anymore, and if I were to choose one MMO from the ones we know about today that I think will get me back to MMO playing, it would be Guild Wars 2. And I wish The Secret World had THIS quality of graphics here, because that's another promising MMO, but its graphics and animations are being put to shame right here by Guild Wars 2. I'm also very curious how NCsoft can afford or manage to make such a game without subscription, while many other seemingly lower-quality MMOs are aspiring to surely charge monthly?! This is just unbelievably amazing I'm almost becoming a fan of NCsoft / ArenaNet itself! =)
This barely even looks like an MMO. They've always been good on visuals and they've never been afraid to think outside of the box. You see too many MMO's conforming to what has come before with god awful animation, basic textures and a poor combat system, but now NCsoft/ArenaNet are really pushing it to look like a great action/adventure by any standards.
the spell effects are too bright goddamn! turn them down!!...even when the character swims u only see a white light blob where the character is unless u keep moving the camera. otherwise the animations look quite nice.
Guildwars got to be the best MMO out there when it comes to gameplay, combat and PvP, now it is so much more! and the cheapest too. Now I might get this instead of TOR or probably both since this is still TBA. The underwater combat looks great! I hope more and more Guildwars 1 content will be bridged here too. and Please I want to play the assassin.
@Unfallen_Satan Check it out, exactly what you're asking for! http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/guildwars2/video/6321038/guild-wars-2--underwater-combat-demo?tag=videos%3Btitle%3B6
@Targzissian : well i wasnt so sure but i now i am buying this game as soon as it comes here ...just worried it might not release here :(
@bluehawk-55 If it's like the first Guild Wars you can actually solo most of the content, but you're always online. @hrothgar99 There are no monthly fees. Not sure about cost, but that doesn't matter to me. I'm getting it!
For some crazy reason, when I saw the Asura's helping the frog people, I was reminded of Yoda helping the Wookies against the Droid Army. Then the big dragon showed up... Wow. I hope the transition from land to water battle will be special like the rest of the game I've seen. I'd love it even if it were just a different skill bar and a different weapon, but I wonder if ANet will do something more. Maybe some skills will work differently in water so we get to see some cool or funny effects of our favorite land skills. Maybe the game will reward players who adjust skills based on how much water is in a mission, not simply best-skills-for-land, best-skills-for-water. It'll be another bonus.
@hrothgar99 No monthly fees. You just buy the game. Likely costs as much as most big titles. 50€/$ or so.
I agree a monthly fee is low enough that you should play the better game... ... But this IS the better game. Combat, graphics, story, atmosphere, it all looks to be the most promising MMO available. So then it becomes a question of whether you should pay more for the worse game. :p
thats balloni monthly fee is like less than 50 cents a day, Im definatly willing to play a better game even if it cost me 50 cents a day
Just wanted to remind everyone to stop by the Guild Wars 2 forum page and check it out. Though there are a few bad apple's, we mostly have a knowledgeable and helpful community.
@kiopta1 The lack of monthly fee for GW2 is why I'm concentrating on it more than SW:TOR. I'll definitely play SW.TOR for the first free month (Why? Because it's Bioware and Star Wars!), but as you said, it'll get expensive to play in the long run with monthly fees. No such worries with GW2 tho, yay!
Well thats 2 MMOs I am playing....GW and SWTOR....so much money to spend I think I have to tell my familiy they arn't getting anything from me for Christmas.
