Dat firm mayb Rite i told Stupid Sony dis crap cud happn dey aint take heed cuz i KNEW dis cud happn but o wel its Fine such is life Sony gon learn U Dont stay ontop 4eva
Oh my God...the accent on this Goddess! Hard to believe there are some out there who don't believe in a God! Oh and some you Guys out there Geekiness is really of the charts....LOL
A Sony presumption about Microsoft XBox One and Kinect does not really mean anything.
They have been humping this Kinect issue long enough.
Also, tell me why in every video you see about how Microsoft is forcing a charging $100 more for XBox One with a Kinect, you see a PS4 with it's camera. It costs $100 as well, yes.
*Now stepping off my milk crate*
The XB1 sans kinect would leave a console that has lost the thing its hardware was optimised for, in an attempt to focus on something that it was not designed to do as a priority (gaming). The hardware inside the XB1 has been tailored to do a Kinect controlled multimedia TV box extremely well to try and capture the TV living room market. Gaming performance has suffered as a result of that design focus.
Removing kinect breaks the thing it was designed to do and all you're left with is the lame games machine. MS are wedded to kinect because it goes to the core of the original flawed design vision. Cut the head off and it dies.
LOL by 2016 everyone will already have a ps4 (which will likely be way cheaper and come bundled w/ games by then), a steam box, or just a powerful PC....kinect or not the XONE is doomed...sitting next to the dreamcast and even virtual boy XD
Sucks about the Dying Light delay, was looking forward to that game. can't give 2 shits about ESO or CoD though.
If Kinect was a free pack-in accessory and not $100+ bloat ware, people would care less because they could just shelve it and only connect it to the console if/when a game or piece of software is released that gives people a reason to connect it.
Knowing the device is in millions of homes gives developers incentive to innovate. Microsoft needs to lead by example and stop putting out crapware like Kinect Sports Rivals.
Harmonix wouldn't be happy to know their Disney Fantasia game would have its potential audience sliced by a huge percentage as result of a Kinect-less Xbox One.
I have 100% interest of getting an Xbox One but I have an absolut 0% of interest of getting the Kinect 2.0. In simple mathematics, it gives me a 50% chances of getting it all, true. But the thing is: I'm confident about Microsoft listening to us gamers and sell the Xbox One without Kinect 2.0. Plus, who actually uses it more than a couple of times? I used the Kinect for Xbox 360 a couple of times at my friends house and never wanted to use again or even adquire the contraption.
With all this in mind, I'm safe to state that I prefer keep playing on PC, Xbox 360, 3DS and Wii U in the mean time.
Hands down PS4 is still gonna kick ass. I played Pokemon Ruby on the original Gameboy Advance, so when the two Pokemon remakes come out, I'm going to buy Alpha Saphire. Does anybody think the 3DS is going to get a Pokemon Z? (Legendary being Zygard)
I really do not care at all for kinect. That being said, I am a single-player gamer so I can't understand why I would want to buy an Xbone over a PS4. (Titanfall is exclusively a multi-player experience.) The PS4 just has better exclusives: Killzone, Infamous, Uncharted, God of War, The Last of Us,The Last Guardian, and other upcoming games which I look forward to.
Because that's what it's all about. The GAMES. I don't care about watching tv while playing a game. I don't care about using skype on my console. I don't care about using my voice to navigate the menus. I really, really, REALLY don't care.
PS4 wins because they didn't make stupid mistakes. Microsoft knew what they were getting themselves into when they announced the features that no one wanted . Force stuff down your install bases throats and you might as well just quit the console market .
Nothing will get Microsoft back to top spot until they drop the price. Bringing out a Xbox One without Kinect is stupid . The Xbox One was made solely around Kinect , without Kinect you don't have the features that are the selling point .
I love my Xbox 360 but after Microsoft lying and coming back trying to fix things , just showed me how much they value their customers .
Poor Poor Ponies :(
Nintendo's next console should be a handheld/home console hybrid system (not like the Wii U). You should be able to take the actual system out of the house and play at home also. Perhaps this could be done with a rebooted version of the Wii U. I'd be happy with that.
This is why you dont argue with people that dont have a xb1. They simply dont know the experience. People come to my house and say lets see what this thing do. I just say xbox and the screen lights up. They instantly smile. Your just plain crazy if you think the snap feature is a joke. Tv part...how many times were you waiting for a friend to play and log off to watch tv and just missed them. The game is always on this the reason for the policy they scrapped. The ps4 so powerful whats it lifting other than 1080. I never knew the res on one 360 game i played. Why would i care now.
Drop the price of Xbox One? YES.
Remove Kinect from the base package? NO
I understand that everyone matches the Kinect with a price drop, but Microsoft should keep Kinect in there and just drop the price. Eventually sales of games will make up for that loss. The short term loss will be better than the losses from lack of console sales.
Keeping the Kinect makes the Xbox One more attractive at a lower price point and is the defining feature of the system. It's stupid to remove it.
Removing Kinect is a quick, but dirty option that might not even pan out.
To Hades with digital downloads. Digital will only win if they reduce the price compared to physical discs. I don't see how anyone would buy a digital game at the same price while with the physical have the option of reselling.
ok seriously no one has answered my question when I ask them. why do you not want to have the Kinect?
its only 100 extra dollars, its not something that will get used once and thrown away. if you use it like I do, you use it every day. yes the way I use it is limited (I don't play games with it), I turn on my xbox, off my xbox, tell it to change to certain channels, Skype, and say record that when something epic happens, also it recognizes my face and signs me in automatically.
i'm really trying to understand why someone doesn't want something that can make things easier for you. its not like apple where the next version comes out next year and its a waste of 100 bucks, its 100 bucks for the next 8-10 years. what is so wrong with the Kinect that you are so against having it? i'm actually curious to hear some real answers.
Not really. Only the insecure people trying to convince themselves theirs is better. Way to be a fanboy.
My thoughts, exactly. They need to stop shooting themselves in the foot, man up, and admit they made a mistake.
Don't mind what someone else thinks. For high-end gaming graphics, the PS4 coming with 8 GB GDDR5 graphics memory was an expensive decision Sony made, but it helps the PS4 to be fast, powerful, and future proof. It is one of the many good design decisions they made including the innovative PS4 controller with Motion Sensor, Touch-pad, and Share button. This is what a next generation gaming console should be like and the PS4 delivers!
@iammcgruber Seems legit.
It's right up there with Soda Stream and Starburst Fruit Flavored Candy Corn. Did you actually take that seriously? I'm sorry...
I had no idea that eggs could be innovative. Amazing. Those are some forward thinking chickens.
@iammcgruber oh yea you forgot to mention the other winners
Dial Coconut Water Hydrating Body Wash and Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cupcakes as winners
so yea yay xbox one...
@iammcgruber erm wasn't that '2014 product of the year award' and I use that term very lightly due to the fact that it was handed out at the start of 2014..which kinda begs the question
how can something be product of the year so early on?
I smell money...dirty, filthy, bullshit money
@shawnjohn I'm sure that's the reason why the Xbox One is selling so much better than the PS4... oh wait.
Seriously though, it's okay to enjoy your console. You can enjoy the Xbox One more than the PS4. That's completely okay. Your last sentence was ridiculous though, and if you honestly believe that most gamers want to watch TV while waiting for their buddies (realize that most gamers play more single player games than multiplayer games anyway), then you're delusional. Just enjoy your console and stop trying to tell everyone else why their console isn't as good as yours. It's petty.
@Hvac0120 Or better yet remove the Kinect AND take a loss on the console and sell the Xbox One for $300 or $350. There's a lot of people out there who don't want the Kinect. It's an accessory and it really doesn't add anything currently to the gaming appeal of the system. The Xbox One is a games console, regardless of what Microsoft wants to call it. Sure it does more than just play games, but that will always be its primary focus. Stop focusing the console around an accessory. You're right that it's the defining feature of the system. That's the problem.
@mcmflyguy Take a look at my previous comment. Also, $100??? Are you S***ing me??? How in the name of all that is good on this earth is ANYTHING you just mentioned worth one hundred friggin bucks?
Lack of return on investment. I am not interested in Kinect gaming and only mildly interested in the voice and gesture control of he OS. The benefits of having Kinect do not equal the monetary value of $100 (difference between cost of Ps4) on top of an already less-powerful console. As you may see in my comment above, I think the Kinect should remind part of the package. I just want Microsoft to make it a better value option.
@mcmflyguy For most people I think it's just a matter of price. For the majority of folks in the comment section, it's a convenient target for childish fanboyism. Personally I liked it well enough on my Xbox One, that I recently purchased the camera for my Ps4.
@mcmflyguy EXACTALLY! The kinect adds to the expierence. People who do not own an Xbox One will not understand.
@mcmflyguy the 100 extra hundred dollars is the issue, your average video game player doesn't really have even 400 to spend let alone 500 at one given time.
The ps4 has a 6 speed blu-ray drive that is supposedly meant to work with the new 4k blu-ray discs that sony and the BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association)are releasing at the end of the year.so I'm guessing that the xbone will have to upgrade the console soon or be left out on the media side which apparently Microsoft marketed heavily as a "all in one media device for your home"
@vegitostompz boy with fan
@bjklol well no i'm not S***ing you. i'm just asking a question as to why people feel that is such a horrible amount to ask. and i'll use it, 365 days a year for 6-10 years. which is how I justify saying 100 bucks is worth it. i'm not arguing and saying its worthless, and i'm not saying its the greatest thing in the world, just trying to figure out why people say its too expensive. i'll see if I can find your comment to read it.
@Hvac0120 ok i agree Kinect gaming is kinda crap. golf and bowling are about the only 2 fun things. but i think you underestimate the voice control part. it really is extremely helpful. i use it daily.
You really cannot know what most people are thinking without doing a survey. What if someone replies to you as say only lazy people want Kinect, would that make sense? Some people do not want Kinect because of the bad publicity about its camera seeing their every action. You may not care about that but some people do.
But 25 million people bought Kinect for the Xbox 360 and know what Kinect is all about. If those people do not want Kinect for the Xbox ONE maybe they have a good reason. So I would say these people understand what Kinect is all about. Tell us one good reason why a gamers would want to buy Kinect for gaming.
@rickphoenixxx i guess i qualify as "hardcore" then cause the 100 extra doesn't phase me. but i see your point. thanks
@rickphoenixxx People buy whatever is cheaper. It's the same reason why X360 sold better than ps3 last gen. Thats the only reason why ps4 is sellig better right now.
@georgepalmer89 lol not one word of that was true. nice try though
@blackbetty1974 i have a friend who actually has an xbo and didn't have the Kinect set up cause he didn't want it to watch him. so i set it up, and turned it towards the wall. and he loves it now lol.
@augustine777 @blackbetty1974 @mcmflyguy Obviously I'm not going to conduct a survey. My statement is based on my own observations, and is clearly presented as an opinion. My point was that the vast majority of sentiment I've seen on several sites has been fanboyish ranting. The reason given by most non fanboy/trolls has been the price. And yes, I've seen some people bring up the privacy issue, which I should have mentioned. I'm not concerned with the privacy issues, but I wouldn't discount people who are.
@iammcgruber that's mostly referring to 4k gaming it's not saying much about playing 4k movies. the new 4k blu-ray discs that are coming out later this year will need a higher speed drive to play them.
@vylsith the xbone has a 2 speed blu-ray drive I remember someone tearing it down and comparing the hardware against the ps4, most people may not have a 4k tv but you will notice a difference between 1080p and 4k on larger screen sizes, especially xbones 900p compared to ps4's 1080p(I've got a 84 inch 4k tv, i work in the liquidation business and got it pretty much for free).
@bsford @georgepalmer89 The PS4 does have a BDD 6X. Not sure about the rest, but it wouldn't be common knowledge anyway. Normal Blu-ray players won't be able to jump to 4k resolution. The PS4 is obviously different. Firmware could easily upgrade the OS to allow for 4k Blu-ray. Again, I have no idea what the transfer speed requirements are for 4k, but if a BDD 1X can read 1080p fine, then I doubt a 6X Blu-ray would have any difficulty with 4K. There aren't six times more pixels going from 1080p to 4K (there are about 4 times as many).
So either the compression is terrible on 4K formats (which is possible I suppose), or the PS4 will likely be able to read 4K Blu-ray. Then again the discs may have a completely different format. I really don't know. I doubt he knows either, but your claim that none of it is true is also conjecture. It's a very possible reality. Is this possible on the Xbox One as well? Possibly. No idea what the BDD speed is on the Xbox One. Couldn't find anything through Google.
Does any of this really matter? Not really. Almost nobody has a 4K TV and that number won't rise dramatically until the very end of this generation (if then). This really isn't worth talking about.
@beford I think you are mistaken the new 4k blu-ray discs will need a higher speed drive to play them, do your research before posting
