Can't wait to play this, if purely for nostalgia's sake. Wolf 3D was my entrance into FPS gaming. I still remember playing the game on a 386 without a sound card first, then adding in an 8-bit generic soundcard, and being wildly excited that the prison cell door sliding open at the beginning sounded like a heavy steel door sliding over concrete.
Wow was excited when I saw Bethesda then Hendrix started and now it looks like a shit box. Oh well should have expected it after the way the last one turned out.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the first FPS I'v ever finished. Loved its sci-fi/WWII setting. Looking forward to this.
It may not have sold so well, but Wolfenstein (2009) was absolutely awesome.
And of course, Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2001) is a classic.
If you haven't done so yet, play 'em both before the release of The New Order.
@Caldrin Likely not. It isn't so odd for them to make a straight-up FPS since they also made Brink.
@KingXerxes Wolf 2009 was an amazing singleplayer experience.
It sold poorly and got shunned because the multiplayer was crap, and people really wanted something great like what RTCW had ;)
It's sad but yeah, these days people are clueless. Bethesda didn't make Brink, or Rage, or Dishonored, nor are they making The Evil Within nor Prey2 nor this game, but all these would-be Bethesda fans don't even know Bethesda has its own publishing branch, lol
Bethesda is also a publisher. The developer, Bethesda Game Works, are the guys that do The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Dishonored was published by Bethesda, made by Arkane Studios. Brink was developed by Splash Damage. etc
