I get a sick feeling every time I see bad news about Xbox One frame rates and resolution.  I have been an Xbox guy from the first Xbox and Xbox 360.  I hope I made the right choice based on wanting to play Titanfall and getting an Xbox One for that reason. I am sure I will get a PS4 and some point down the road.

Yes, with 2 gb of GFX ram, a quad core 3.6 ghz processor 16gigs of ram and win 8.1 I think it will play games for the whole life of the Xbone and PS4.. They didn't step anything up. I will love Dragon Age Inq. and Witcher 3 on this system. Its my GFs though so all it really has to do is run Sims 4 which it will. My personal computer is a little bit more expensive, but SSDs will do that to anything.

I traded in my Xbox One and got PS4. A next gen console should have 90% if not all it's games at 1080p/60fps. Xbox One's 'BIG' exclusive Titanfall is only 720p and struggling to hit 60fps. It does make a difference I've already noticed the difference in quality on Battlefield and Ghosts. I was an 8 year Xbox veteran, but it is time to jump ship.

Just wish I got PS4 in the first place would of saved my self a lot of money.

I bought a PS4 because it had the superior hardware specification.  That does not mean the games will be better which is Nintendo's argument.  Both consoles will do fine, Microsoft targeted the mass market TV watching, sports fans, Sony targeted gamers and developers. Sony will win the early adopters market (as there is a slight nerd skew in this community), but the Wii remains the most successful console and Microsoft are targeting that market..imo

Nope. It makes me sad to think people play Battlefield 4 at 30 fps ( and under) on 720 p on current gen.. It is not as good. Its the same gameplay.. but its shit compared to PC or ps4.. so we will have to agree to disagree.

Frame rate is without a doubt a bigger issue than resolution, even more so when you consider the vast number of 720p TVs still in use.

With the X1's ESRAM I would agree PS4 is probably easier to develop for at the moment.  I don't think Devs have a lot of experience with ESRAM.

interpretation looks more about social media being on a call for 'we' or 'us', to place on the game name the 's shaped Z for the post design.

It seems strange that Microsoft would release a console unable to pull off 1080p, 60fps out of the gate. That is not next gen by any means. Games will get very demanding throughout its cycle and the framerates will be painful slow if this is the best they can do right now.

Well I know when I play my PS3 on my bedroom 32in HD TV is a lot worse then the 40in HD TV we have downstairs, in GTAV for example there is a lot more detail within the textures, and the frame rate feels smoother for some reason and the sharpness is far better in the visuals, so I know when I get my PS4 it will look far better on the 40in especially now in 1080p.

I went for the console that the devs seemed to like the most and that was the PS4.

Also it had better technical specifications.

This is glorious, I absolutely hate ubisoft, especially ubisoft montreal (ghost recon future soldier, anyone remember that epic fail?) don't forget uplay either, which they shove up everybody's ass, even if you buy the game off steam.

Either way anyone who fucks with blizzard, ea, or ubisoft gets a +1 from me. (blizzard for hiring jay wilson who had no RPG past history and for ruining D3).

what was wrong with the name watchdogs?? Plus this is s really bad move on part of ubisoft all those marketing bucks down the drain & now they are gonna call it something else

ok if i have an option between 60 fps & 30 fps i will like most gamers choose 60.

Doesn't bother me I have a ps4, xbox one and gaming pc. I'm a gamer not a pathetic bitching fan boy.

Reso mite r mite not make much difference but frames do make a difference for shooters don't be fooled seen it in my own experiences playin online in bf4 on my pc.

Surely "easier to develop for" is relative? If you've spent many years developing for ESRAM and know it like the back of your hand it is going to be pretty easy overall.

Compare the difference between the PS4 and Xbox One with the problems with the CELL processor and it is pretty much negligible.

I mean these issues with the Xbox One resolution are due to the overall power of the Xbox One not because it took the devs all of the their time and effort to utilise the power in the Xbox.

So really if Xbox has a chance of hitting 1080 and 60fps, which it can't be THAT far from since Forza was already in 1080p and 60fps (yeah yeah car games are low maintenance I know!) it will all be in the optimisation.

Besides if the games on PS4 don't buck up, (inFamous...sigh... {shakes head}) I'll probably get an Xbox One regardless.

1080p has more than twice the surface area (or pixel density) than 720p, so don't tell me it doesn't matter. And the 60 fps thing, people noticed it here on gamespot when Cam started Reality Check.

Your arguments are invalid Microsoft.

I'm definitely a Xbox360 fan, however I'm still confused with this new generation. I definitely want to get one and being I loved my 360 I was just gonna get the Xbox One, but I have to admit the PS4 definitely looks more interesting: better games, better hardware, cheaper, and what looks like better exclusives. And don't give that Kinect crap as right now its nothing but a gimmick.

Hey Jess, I'm wondering...

Is it really mandatory for your daily GS News to still introduce yourself everyday?

I mean, probably 99,99% of the people watching GS News knows exactly who you are by now! =)

You're the most famous Gaming News female reporter on earth at the moment!

I also noticed that you seem to be the only one introducing yourself in every videos you make.

Danny in his "The Point" videos starts straight with his content.

Same for Johnny in his Feedbackula videos and for Cam in his Reality Check videos.

Again, I'm just wondering and don't mind at all, you can introduce yourself as much as you want, your name is music to our ears! =)

@canuckbiker  Its not the console its the devs not being aware of how to squeeze it out yet.

@DeanoFantasy The reason your 40 inch TV is smoother and sharper is because it has the 120hz feature. Your 32 inch is 60hz which most HD TVs were before...2009(?) You will also notice the same difference when you're watching Blu-ray movies as well.

cws3e
cws3e

@DeanoFantasy

With out knowing the resolution /dpi of your TVs nothing much can be taken from that statement.  As far as we know you are just shit at calibrating your TVs.

@coaltango  Did you just listen to the video? It says and other websites have confirmed as have Ubisoft that the trademark thing was not them. Someone pretending to be Ubisoft filed for the removal of the trademark but obviously they can't just do that so it didn't work.

Well they got the attention of poorly informed news sites at least.

@Dannystaples14  how many game developers can you name that have tons of ESRAM experience?

@Dannystaples14  Uknow this is the 2nd time i've seen u ranting about infamous somehow i think u you've never played any of them.

Findy37564
Findy37564

@MonocleOwl  agreed
1080p IS smoother to play and honestly
this is next gen console so why u still want to play at 720p while 1080p is available in cheaper and powerful console

Dannystaples14
Dannystaples14

@MonocleOwl  Yeah but that is just numbers. If I can't really tell much difference unless I put two TVs right next to one another and compare directly it could be 3 times the pixels and it still wouldn't make a single bit of difference.

canuckbiker
canuckbiker

If it doesn't bother you to wait, I'd stick it out with last gen for a year then make your choice. Probably have a price drop by then, or at least a decent bundle.

canuckbiker
canuckbiker

If that were true then Microsoft exclusives like ryse or dead rising 3 would have been 1080p. Dead rising 3 was 720p, 30 fps. Seems strange that devs have no problem getting the ps4 to do it but not the xbox1. I really don't care much in the end. If someone enjoys their xbox power to them, my experience with the 360 has assured me another xbox is a waste of time and money for me.

Dannystaples14
Dannystaples14

@cws3e I don't know any game developers and I don't know much about game development to be honest.

But my guess is that someone in game development doesn't necessarily have to come from a background of solely game development.

I'm sure someone who makes software in general knows a lot of the tricks that game developers use and they just need to change their focus and apply it differently.

I mean there are plenty of computer systems around the world which are tailor made for a specific purpose. Not every system on the planet needs massive amount of power. Scientific equipment for example that has a strict power requirement might opt for different hardware set ups.

@nixon45jm I never knew they existed until the PS4 came out. All I know is I hate the guy in the beenie already. Fucking hate arrogant pricks in real life. Why would I want to play as them in a video game as well?

canuckbiker
canuckbiker

If that's true then go back to playing 4:3, 480p. If you don't have 2 tvs side by side, how could you possibly tell the difference.

BraollusBeBack
BraollusBeBack

@Dannystaples14 @MonocleOwl  I call busllhit! 720p and 1080p, you don't need to put two TV's next to each other to see the difference, it's clear cut. I somehow sense, that you haven't really played on 1080p on a good quality TV, because if you had you'd talk differently. I used to play gamse on my PC in 720p, due to shabby graphics card, got a little better one, upped it to 1080p, and the clarity of 1080p is overwhelming at first, especially if you're used to 720p.

Dannystaples14
Dannystaples14

@canuckbiker  Yeah, I don't give a shit why he is wearing the hat, my problem is that he looks like an arrogant douchebag.

I've only seen gameplay videos and I already hate the look of him.

I mean why would I want to play a game with a trailer that can't sell its own protagonist without making him look like a asshole.

canuckbiker
canuckbiker

That's a pretty stupid reason to hate a game. Perhaps it's cold where the game takes place. I live in northern bc and wear tukes all the time. These games were excellent and well received on the ps3. It was like gta, but you played a superhero instead of an ahole, however you had the choice to be good or bad in it, so I guess you could be a prick in it.

Dannystaples14
Dannystaples14

@BraollusBeBack @MonocleOwl  I have actually and I couldn't see that much difference. When I took screen shots and compared directly the difference was much clearer but without taking direct comparisons I couldn't see enough difference to ever want to buy a PS4 just for that reason alone.
