GS News Top 5 - Sexual violence in MGSV + ‘XboxSignOut’ trolls users
MGSV grabs itself a ‘sexual violence’ rating, Xbox trolling is at its height, Sony introduces PlayStation Now for PS4, and can religion and gaming make sense together?

I think the problem with having a religious video game to entice people into religion, is that it's trying too hard. If they made a good video game that isn't really about religion, that has a sympathetic character who is religious, I think that would do better to entice people to be religious, because you'd want to emulate that character.
hahaha #1 deserved the GOLD! hilarious! ...o and that thing at the was kinda cool/kinda scary... she looked like the girl from "The Ring" for a second
I think it would be a problem if every single game ever would feature hyper sexualized women, but I don't get why it's such a huge deal if some games have them. It's always strange arguments against it also. As if no women in real life are hyper sexual.
Sure religion has a place in gaming, gaming is expression and art, so if the devs wanna include it go nuts. Games often try to appeal to absolutely everything with a wallet, but the aren't required to. That said, the second question about it being any good is completely valid, if the game isn't good, it isn't good, but those two questions aren't mutually inclusive.
As an aside, to Jess, I am not sure why you are tweaking your speaking cadence but for what my opinion is worth, I prefer your more natural one. It was odd this week with you speaking slower and more methodically, and felt artificial to someone who has heard how you have normally spoken in the past. Your show, your option, just offering my feedback.
Religion should only exist as history. That people are dumb enough to still believe in fairy tales to this date, is way beyond me. Believing in something that has been the direct cause of the death of billions of people... What the hell people...
hahahahahaha, xboxsignout is the equivalent of PC players answering back with, "ALT+F4" XD that's some go0o0o0o0od trolling there.
GS - Please stop making topics and articles on Call of Abraham. This is at least the 5th time you've been "shocked" over it. Most of the world has some form of religion and it hasn't stopped any of us from gaming lol. A game about religion is just another game.
Sexual Violence in MGSV
Hard to say anything since we don't know details yet. It may not even be much more than some mild verbal sexual harassment...who knows?
Religious Video Game
Sure whatever. However they won't mix well
since a lot of gamers are probably used to their religious grandmother
screaming at them telling them they should stop playing video games in
the first place. There might be a grudge against it since the audiences
don't seem to "jive" well together.
Steambox = meh
Even at a $500 entry price I would wait for a price drop. That's way too high of an entry price for a 'console' that is just entering the market. I know they've been a software based company for a while now but this being their first piece of hardware...are they really expecting a large market of consumers that will pay that much for a glorified prototype?
Unless I haven't been paying
attention, I haven't heard of a price for the product. The service might
actually be neat if the price is right.
If I had an Xbone, I would totally try to friend this guy just to play games with him and hear the people he trolls. Genius idea!
I guess we will all find out whether religion is fake or not when we die. 50/50 If you think of what awaits those who believe and those who don't I think I'll believe just to be safe. If I'm wrong then I'll be re-encarnated as someone or something else so I'll live it up then.
history is history, we already have the whole assassins creed thing, why not branch out.
me, I'm waiting for a civil war sim, obama can sponsor it.
Religious games to spread the word? Wow, great idea. Everyone knows religious people are so good at technology and innovative thinking.
All this vitriol for a religious game...sure it has a place in gaming!
Just like every other game you have the choice to not play it so whats the problem?
If it bothers you that much ignore it and move on.
Religion and games, of course it makes sense! Games use myths all the time like the God of War series, I don't see a problem with using modern myths like the Christian mythology for use in games.
When I hear Religious non-sense over video games I wanna burst into flames; someone should tell them that you wankers have been burning people for centuries, killing, pillaging, raping and all kinds of evil crap and you've done it without even apologising; just calm down a bit! your era is over...
almost 40% of the world right now is suffering from religion and some fat retarded moron thinks that his voice should be heard by people who are 60 years younger than him because "His faith should be respected"....Just die already...
loool at religion it dosent exist just an excuses to separate people and kill them in the name of an imaginary figure i respect peoples beliefs 100% aslong as you keep it to yourself and dont try to force it on others then i have a problem with you
Religion in games? Why not. It is all just make believe anyway.
What about games in religion? Like that one time Jesus had to win the gifts from the three wise men by playing Skee Ball. Too bad he only won some frankincense. Fuckin' baby hands.
probably wouldn't have clicked if it didn't say "sexual" in the title...
Guess I'm getting a bit lonely..
Noah's Ark in a Skyrim version and you have to do some stuff before it's time that the world floods and even that you would have to survive it.
it's not much different from answering new PC gamers' questions about "how do i..." with "alt+f4"
and yes, i still find that funny ;)
Sexual violence is nothing new in The Witcher series. Just play TW2 or watch last cinematic trailer of TW3.
ultimately games are a medium designed for a little escapism and to delve into ideas that are unfounded in reality. so i think a religious game based on the bible fits in perfectly. Wouldnt be buying buying it myself as i can,t imagine it will be much fun never being allowed to fight anyone and simply delivering messages for 100+ hours
Let them make what they want. No one is forced to buy it.
And XboxSignOut is currently WINNING the Internet. Best troll EVAR
@megageneDon't hate on Jess, she's kinda cute! Plus she's taking her time to present news... to you!
@Jawehawk-DKAtheism has also been the cause of the deaths of billions of people.
@Jawehawk-DKWorse than religious fanatics are the die hard atheists who are always insulting people who oppose their views. Shot in the dark, but I'd say you have no friends due to your "superior intelligence", you also wear a fedora and have a neckbeard. lel
@smokeless_0225 The Steambox is just a PC in new packaging. People have been making PCs for a while so I doubt it'll be a "glorified prototype."
That's not to say that there aren't questions about it, but those have to do primarily with the software, particularly the OS.
@BadMrSnakeIt's all about technique!
@zyxahn Yeah. Even a scientist is smart enough to research the correct rules and try something first before they disregard it.
@anshanlord Humans kill people. That means all humans are murderers. Oh wait... Stop lumping everyone together. Ignore the good focus on the bad only?
@anshanlord ...just die already." isn't that kind of statement the thing that sparks religion in the first place?
@anshanlord You sound like the orc general from Return of the King lol.
@Merseyak Don't lump religion together with everything else. Not everyone is blowing themselves up, and separating people.
@ericmbacon like when your a kid, and you make-believe you'll live forever. i give every one who reads this fifty years, sixty years tops.
@zyxe notice how it's all dumb kids who are saying it though.
True. But will it do everything that my current PC can do? (Use MS Word/Excel, check email, order stuff on ebay, <whatever else people do on PC>)
Maybe it's just that I don't know enough about it but it seems to me that they are streamlining this as "just a console". If that's correct, why wouldn't I just buy a PC for around the same price that can play games and do everything else as well?
