GS News - PS4 beating Xbox One in global sales + PS Now announced
PlayStation announces their PS4 sales figures for 2013, and introduces their cloud-streaming service PlayStation Now, while a new Alien game is confirmed.
Alien Isolation is the kind of game I want to see Jees McDonell and Zorine Te play at House of Horrors! :D
Good thing I have gamespot to inform me of how many consoles sold everyday, that is information that I really need to know and is very interesting.
Not only is that the sort of Alien game I want to play, it's also the sort of Alien game I want Jess and Zorine to play.
“I like strawberry.”
“I like strawberry, too! Let's like strawberry together!
“I don't like strawberry. I prefer chocolate.”
“YOU LIKE, WHAT?”
“I prefer chocolate.”
“Well F*ck you and your chocolate loving ways, IDIOT”.
“Woah. Woah. Calm down, dude.
“I AM CALM. You're just a f*cking loser that's all. Chocolate hugger.
“STRAWBERRY is for Whiny little b*tches!
“F*ck you bunch of chocolate lovers! Strawberry wins any day!
“I would LITERALLY SHOOT MYSELF IN THE HEAD IF SOMEONE GAVE ME STRAWBERRY!!!!”
And so on...
i do becuase it should allow me to play those sony exclusives i missed on my pc microsoft's exclusives are just another shooter so not interested in those
Hopefully it will have GTA5, missing this game since upgrading to PS4, sold my PS3 :'^( Also would be good to know the broadband requirements, I suspect you might need a healthy pipe to stream...
Am I the only one that thinks there's something wrong with being forced to watch 30 seconds worth of ad for a video less than 3 minutes long?
I have both consoles and i know why PS4 is outselling the Xbone... The xbone is so sluggish on the dashboard and i hate the windows 8 look, it takes to many menus to get a party going or just to get to areas of the console. PS4 is much more easy to navigate and looks and feels much better.
I'm assuming they're going to price the games on the more inexpensive side, which if that is the case, I think it's an amazing idea. I especially think an inexpensive rental option would be a great way to find games that you never tried when they first came out. If it is expensive, I don't see the point. I'm saving my PS3 and Xbox 360 just to play my older games, just in case. But I'm focused on next-gen games. I don't see the appeal of paying much money or going through a lot of trouble to play old games. Kind of like people bricking their Xbox Ones trying to play old games on a new console they just purchased to replace their old console. Huh?
Damn this is pointless bickering.. end of the day both consoles will succeed and have huge fan base. Those who want P$4 will have one, those who want an Xbone will have one, which makes the consumer the winner regardless which sells more or less.
All of my sighs.... *sigh* fanboy stupidity. First let me say, congrats on both MS and Sony for selling well. Even better than the WiiU when compared in a short time. Let me also say, I'm no fanboy. I prefer to play on all 3 platforms if ever possible. But no doubt I'll be called a fanboy for this. Now one thing I don't get is how stupid/ignorant fanboys are. The xbox has sold 3 million in 13 countries/territories. The PS4 has sold 4 million in more than 40 countries/territories. Using figures here, the sell gap should be much larger considering the PS4 has more reach. But it's not Honestly you sony guys are gloating around that ps4 is outselling/ supposedly "spanking or destroying" the xbox. Making fun of kinect, the extra 100$ and xbox playing launch titles at 720p, claiming that's why the PS4 is outselling the xbox. Now all of those would be good points, but the MAIN thing you guys purposely ignore is that the xbox is sold in less places yet isn't majorly far behind despite that disadvantaged. Now I will say one thing, when the PS4 releases in Japan its sales will rocket no doubt. However, as of now, some of you guys should stop being gloating dumbasses. If these figures were like this and the two consoles were released in the same amount of countries, then yea I could see why you guys are trolling the xbox. However, they aren't equal in places sold and the xbox isn't extremely far like some of you are making it seem, despite the disadvantaged. Am I saying xbox could surpass ps4 once it's available in more places? No, but I am saying the gap could close. Though even if PS4 wins by a small margin by the end of the gen, no doubt Sony fanboys will make it sound bigger then it actually is. But I digress. Fanboys will be fanboys. No doubt someone ignorant will troll me.
Oh the whiners that use facebook to comment are the worst ever since that featurre was added the quality of reponses on here are just terrible man I miss the old gs.
Err matt Brodie ps4 sold 1 million in US and Canada in 24 hours, Xbox one sold 1 million in 13 countries in 24 hours, get your facts right pal
if you care about your gaming experience, you bought or will buy a Xbox One. if you don't care about your gaming experience, you buy sony junk.... it really is that simple.
Just out of curiosity I went on Morningstar (probably the best investment site), and it rates the price to earnings ratio of MS at 12 and Sony at 8. These are both very good numbers, though I wouldn't invest in Sony b/c their TVs and computers are falling by the wayside (Samsung, LG). Still, its stock is very cheap and it is making a lot of money.
So, bottom line: both companies are doing well at the moment.
Seriously, the Kinect is no drawback. But I understand where they come from. But you need to realise, the OS on the console will have some unused parts of it if you don't get the Kinect too.
Could care less. Sick of Gamespot just perpetuating console wars from rabid fanboys on both sides. (You're all dumbasses, FYI). All for the sake of getting more site clicks. It's like they turned into the FOX News of gaming.
@NonLinearMemoryForget all that. Chicken is the best.
@cjimrun30 secs is excessive. Dont mind a really short advert though as they have to pay to host HD video somehow.
@cjimrunFirefox, Adblock Plus.
@balto70 Not when you can normally pick them up for a fiver on ebay or Amazon Marketplace. I bought Resident Evil 2 and 3 for like £10 the other month. I still have my PS1 so it is great. I'm sure PS2s and Xbox Originals can be found in some places as well if someone really wanted them. Personally I'm not too bothered about either. They were good in the day but not worth rebuying the console again.
I don't think the XB1 releasing in the other countries is going to give anywhere near the boost in sales that some of you seem to believe. The Xbox brand's sales have traditionally only been strong in the United States and Great Britain. It's sales drop off dramatically outside the borders of those two countries.
Not to mention the fact that both the XB1 and PS4 are being shipped to sell as fast as they can be produced so if they did release in other countries they would have to limit their stock in the countries where their sales are traditionally strongest. Which obviously would make little sense.
(This is inre to the XB1 of course as the Playstation brand is historically strongest, as you pointed out, in Japan.)
@dmblum1799 Me too. Sony exclusives are generally good for that
@Dannystaples14@balto70 I usually hang onto my older consoles but I don't have room in my entertainment center for all of them. It is a bit of a hassle to setup each time I want to play an older game. Many people don't even keep their old consoles so that isn't an option.
A relatively inexpensive service that will let me play the games from all the past Playstation systems is a great idea if it works. I should also say that once you play a game using the dual shock 4 it is very difficult to go back to the older controllers.
@RevLux That is what people said about Mouse and Keyboard and I still hate those.
My problem with Dual Shock isn't that they are too small or anything like that, it is because the analogue sticks are where they are.
It is terrible. It is like if you hold your hands up and relax them totally what you should find is your thumb and forefinger are pretty much pointing in the same direction except your forefinger will be bent.
That means holding a dual shock you have to physically push your thumbs down to them, rather than the analogues being under your thumbs to start with. That alone and the annoying cramp I get in my hand as a result of that is the reason I can't stand Dual Shock. Not just Dual Shock 3 but all Dual Shocks with analogue sticks.
And that is the only thing that hasn't changed about the new controller.
