GS News - PlayStation Plus gets 1GB cloud storage
Sony has announced PlayStation Plus will today upgrade its cloud storage from 150MB to 1GB.
I avoided PS+. I was already paying for Xbox Live for a great many ears...I regret it now. Proud to say I've given it a chance and I'm loving it.
I don't know why people hate on PS+. lol It's a very good deal. Them adding 1GB of storage just makes it even better. With PS+ you get good deals, 1 hour full game trails, good discounts, free FULL games (console and arcade type games), other free stuff like avatars, access to betas, and free themes. I tried it for 3 months, and I can say I will be getting PS+ again soon. PSN is so much more worth it than Xbox Live. Even if I don't have PS+ I can still play online for free, get access to all of my apps and PS Home, and still get a few things for free. I can still do a GREAT amount of things. I have been on Xbox Live since it pretty much started on the first Xbox. And I can tell you....Microsoft gives NOTHING for free. lol I actually feel like I'm paying for nothing on Xbox Live. But I wont be soon. lol! I just don't understand why I need an Xbox Live Gold to use apps like Netflix or Hulu Plus. 2 services I'm already paying for. And they want me to pay to use services I'm already paying to use?? lol! Not to mention that the Netflix and Hulu Plus apps are better on PS3. And for people saying PS3 doesn't have this or that app obviously doesn't own a PS3. Because PS3 has those same apps or something very similar to it. lol There may be a few apps that one has and the other doesn't. The only thing good about Xbox Live is the cross game chat, party, and private chat you do can while playing different games. That's all. lol! If you don't have Xbox Live Gold, there's no use having an Xbox 360 in my opinion unless you play single player games and don't care about online. Because that's the only way you can play online unless you wait until free Gold weekends for Silver accounts. And that only comes around literally like once or twice a year. lol!
damn mods here have gotten very lazy since @XspidervenomX comments are still here
Some one in here is obviously hating on the PS+ feature, which he/she has every right but to call people ignorant for liking the feature is just straight idiotic. You can hate it all you want. You don't have to pay for it. I like it. In fact, I love it. I get discounts on games, not the "You pay $10 for old game and get a discount to pay $9.27" (where you get that figure from???). Discounts are usually between 20%-50%. Every month you get a chance to download a full game for free. So even if a year passes, it's not like their won't be more free games coming down the pipe line. So when you're membership expires, the new free games, new discounts and so on will entice you to keep renewing your membership....not the fact that you can't play the free games that you probably already beat again. Make some sense before you call people ignorant.
I have PS+ and am going to buy the extra discounted 12 months, so many free games, so little time to play them!
Also, @readysebbygo Have you had your teeth whitened? Or do you not drink tea or coffee?
So for the cost of 1 full price retail game I get lots of games for 12 months and cloud saves. I've had PSPlus since day one, and I'm really loving the collection of games I've gathered. I really hope PSPlus makes it into the next gen too.
As a PLUS member! You can up to 80$ a year for CLOUD storage for your new game saves! You pay for life or never access your save files again... It's Amazing! ..But that's not all! As an added BONUS, you'll get an extra bottle of OXYCLEAN at no extra charge!!... But that not all, just pay $700.00 shipping handling and receive, not 1, but 2 FREE Popsicle sticks.......IT'S SO AMAZING ...CALL NOW!
Hi I'm a PLUS MEMBER, my ports don't work, can't get DLC sometimes, my cheap network got hacked, I can't chat with friends, downloads takes years, 3d rentals are 8$, I got a 1$ off an old PS1 game, my free games stop working if i don't keep coughing up 50$ a year for life... It's so rad dude!!!
Hi, I paid 50$ and can the old borderlands I beat last year, I must 50$ next year again or I can't play it.. It so great !
And the ignorant ps plus fanboys must resort to name calling cause plus sucks and they have nothing usefull to say.. HOW'S THAT SKYRIM WORKING ? Can you crosschat on that plus network ?, junk!!
For those who want to say bad about PSN or XBOXLIVE, let me tell you, i got both for a long time, Xbox Live interface is more intuitive and fresher than the PSN, It also offers more Media content streaming channels, Its also has Skype n youtube, that i have never personally used, im not sure if anyone use. PSN in other side it looks the same as it was before which is old and more straight forward, that being said in terms of functionality, it offers more or less the same thing as XboxLive, for free! Both xboxlive/psn of course gives you the chance to try demo/trial games as well, and on top of this in PSN you get to use PSN HOME which is an interesting experience to kill some free times, variety of arcade games and whole city to explore! however if you pay for PS Plus, they will frequently offers some fantastic deals and free games that you honestly can't find in xbox live even for gold members, plus a gig of cloud saving and some more extra features. So If you ask me,free PSN members are not losing anything by not subscribing to PSN Plus. SONY made it very fair for everyone. SONY's focus was always on game and gaming contents, that's probably why they don't pay attention to the interface of PSN, since they offers all these functionality for free. It also fair to say xboxlive gold members are those who pays for the cuteness of xbox interface and more frequent updates, Both are fantastic, frankly i'm willing to pay for PSN plus more than xboxlive, as i purely get extra gaming related bonuses/contents that on xboxlive, But the nice thing is on PSN, i'm able to enjoy all these functionalities as a free member too.
You should really report on a batch of stories in one video. I can't stand watching the same pre-video ads over and over again.
Cloud syncing makes plenty of sense on PCs since lots of people have both a desktop and laptop PC. How many PS3 owners will find this feature useful?
I still feel like one of the FEW GAMERS that use his/her console to only play games. I hardly take interest from features like this...
@psuedospike everyone that I know that has ps+ uses it it is a great way to back up your saves and it is easier to transfer saves between ps3s
@bschroth well they already confirmed that it is coming to the vita just that they haven't said when or what features of it will be coming to the vita
@XspidervenomX Then don't pay for it. END OF STORY.
Sorry you wasted money on ten RROD consoles and $100 wifi adapters (M$ Windows USB wifi adapters ~$15) and $120 20GB (yes 20 gb 2 years ago not the 1TB you could get back then for that price) hard drive. Even now, 320gb for $115 and I bought a 2TB last year for $85. PRICE GOUGING! The 360 cost much more than a comparably equipped PS3 and no bluray or bluetooth or rechargeable batteries (surprise, you had to pay for this too).BTW, as reported widely, M$ KNEW about RROD before launch and did not fix it. They had no prob with their customers dealing with that.
@XspidervenomX I don't have to do name calling look who's paying for mp and who's not ps plus is optional where's in you have to pay for a service that gives you nothing not even a good free game or discount so you xbox fanboy's lose as always enjoy going through your RRODS cause I went through 6 RRODS before I gave up on micros--t.PS3 is 10x better than 360 and it doesn't need 3rd party support to have exclusives enjoy you 1 month exclusive games while I'll sit back and enjoy more quality games that you won't get to play cause PS3 is that good eat it.oh and not mention PSN is a better online service than live and Sony has the best customer service period you can't win this argument so get a life.Oh and who really cares about cross game chat no one that actually has life does oh and Skyrim plays fine but to make you eat it even more Skyrim plays best on a pc so EAT IT xbot.
@XspidervenomX I know I said I was simply going to ignore you but I just have to say this YOUR ARE THE ONE BEING A FANBOY
fyi skyrim runs just fine on the ps3 well at least it did for me early today
@rgrambo Oh and for the record 360 has been hacked more than women change panties.
@rgrambo Where do I begin...?
Aww, fuck this.
@Aria1368 Totally agree, I never really saw tje point to PS Plus until I decided to subscribe with a discount offer last year. Didnt use it much at first, but afte a while I tried out a few demos, downloaded a few mini games, and now I've got a few free full games out of it as well.
For £40 a year, its a bargin.
@deadpeasant The Cloud Saves allow you to backup ALL of your game saves/profiles. Even the protected ones that cannot be copied to and from USB.
Since my YLOD earlier this year lost me stuff like a 600hr+ Skyrim save, I now use both methods just in case.
@deadpeasant you're acting like you have to pay more for it... do you even have PS+? lol
@SwimSwimHungry its a nice gesture for an already overly pleasant package
@SwimSwimHungry makes more sense than charging users for playing games online
@SwimSwimHungry Think of it as a general backup. If you're visiting a friend and want to use your save to play together, you need only log into your account from his/her console and download the save file.
If you lose/break your console, your files can be retrieved from the cloud.
Of course, the cloud storage is not the big feature of PS Plus. Its an after thought. Not many people would subscribe for the cloud storage - they subscribe for the hundreds of dollars worth of free games, early beta and demo access, and generous discounts.
@SwimSwimHungry I think dude some of them aren't thinking about utility. They are blinded to get more and more...
@franzito You do realize that the cloud storage is for save files, right?
Because last I checked, even someone who would "use his/her console to only play games" might have a use for storing their save files.
In fact PS Plus as a whole is pretty much only about games. Free AAA-quality games, remote save file storage. Cheaper than Xbox Live Gold.
I don't mean to be an ass, but what you just said made absolutely no sense.
@franzito The only thing besides gaming I use my PS3 for is Blu-ray playback, but it's nice to have cloud storage just in case my hard drive dies one day.
@franzito I'm also in that club.
@constantterror Sony update killed two of my backwards compatible ps3's then they 300$ to fix them. Never had RROD? Used to be a problem I heard.. But PLUS STILL IS A CHEAP FOOLS RIP OFF.. LOL , loved my HBO GO tonight after ESPN ON MY XBOX.. Ahhhh
@Aria1368 Although I should note I have had to scrimp on ice cream this past year...
@seekerofangels Thanks for the input, you and i both know, you come here to bit*h about my grammer cuz you have nothing else to say. People like you are so miserable.
@Lhomity @franzito Too bad their isn't a single free game on plus? You pay a fee to rent some old games,,,,and tell everyone what happens if you ever stop pay PLUS?? Come on?? They disappear , those free games, no play anymore .. Keep telling yourself that .,, lol.. GOLD XBOX- I get to actually cross chat,,,HBO go, fast stable speed unlike ps3, espn, crackle, paramount, IGN, access 99% of new demos before Sony,,, oh and Xbox games actually work,.hiws that skyrim working,, lol,, how was big HACK! On the ps3 cheap network... Ignorance is bliss..
That is the point of the service. If you subscribe you get full games, for free, yes free, that you get to keep for as long as you remain a subscriber. On top of that, you get discounted games - those are not bound to the service.
As an owner of both consoles myself, who admires both for the differences AND their similarities, I take pity upon you. It must be tough being you.
