GS News - New Pokémon Game; PS4 Poaching Microsoft And Nintendo Fans!
A Pokémon/Tekken game is on the horizon, Sony have converted Xbox fans, and get free Call of Duty items for eating Doritos and Mountain Dew?!
by Edmond Tran on
Okay I saw the video again and I remember why I said that. One, I am American. So by saying that I was referring to myself. Two, They were talking about Doritos and Soda to play COD, That was pretty dumb, why not make an advertisement saying if you eat grapes or something. Three, It was a joke people! I am American! Not every American is fat, and if you are then who cares! I certainly do not. Geez, I need to be careful what I post from now on.
The thing is, in the end, sony sold more (once inflated to modern day $) $700 consoles, that had a extremely bad launch with sony saying bad things, launched a year later, and it was harder to develop for. M$, took their quick lead, but near the end of the 360 life the dropped it. Sony kept with the ps3. That made a role in my decision.
I have had many of consoles (not Neo Geo, Tubro Graphics, Jaguar, Saturan and a few others) through out my life This gen I only bought the PS4, and this is the first gen I have not bought at least 2 consoles. I think looking at Nintendo's problems they MAY go games only on all devices. Microsoft MAY also dtop out as the battle is no longer for the living room but the cell phone and Microsoft needs a lot of work in that area. Sony May drop out IN A WAY. changing from CONSOLE to PS brand PC, type box like an Ailenware steambox. but we will see what happens in 5- 10 years.
Oh. And my dream Pokemon game... I don't think it'll ever happen. Or, maybe, the truth is it already happened - in like gen 1.
Instead of making the Pokemon games deeper and more varied, the developers of those games have made them simpler and more repetitive. And I think that has hurt the series.
As much as I want to believe I have some sense of brand loyalty, I have been all over the place when it comes to game systems.
I usually end up switching sides when/if I feel like the console/handheld I own doesn't have enough good games or enough support, or if I feel some prolonged sense of disappointment with it.
It's hard to tell which game system will have the kinds of games I want to play in the long run, and I usually have to find games for myself that I enjoy.
I currently own no system but looking into getting a ps4 over the one for now. Everyone where I look online it seems they have deals for the ps4. But I am torn between the two I will be getting both systems anyways I just don't know what to get first
I can't get rid of my old consoles. There are reasons why I have to keep them all:
PSP: Just for The Silent Hill Experience. That's reason enough.
Playstation 3: There are still great games coming out. Persona 5, hurry up!!!
Xbox 360: Sounds like a sawmill. Reminds me of Twin Peaks. Best TV-show ever.
Wii: So great to see drunk people play tennis.
Playstation 2: I need that one to maximize everything in Disgaea to the highest level. It will take me something like 30,000 years, but I'm optimistic.
Dreamcast: Shenmue and the best versions of Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Shadowman.
Nintendo 64: Great for Halloween. It creates a really spooky fog.
Playstation 1: You see stuff on that console you've never seen before. First-person-platformers and FPS with bitmap-graphics based on photos.
Neo Geo: Huge cartridges, huge controllers, heaven for beat'em-up-fans.
Super NES: Best console ever.
Genesis: Or was that the best console ever?
Game Boy: Can't give my Game Boy away. Half of its display still works.
I currently own a PS3, and plan to buy a PS4 when the first slim/revamped model with a bigger hard drive (and maybe a game packed in) comes out. I will NOT get rid of my PS3 at that point, it's the fat backward compatible one and offers way too much retro game goodness to ditch it.
I owned a Xbox 360 for most of last gen. I got a PS3 late, and frankly I thought it was kind of crap. Gran Turismo still using the X button for throttle was just one such problem for me.
The ONLY thing that made me buy a PS4 was the fact I flipped a coin and it landed on tails not heads. In the end both consoles are identical (minus a bit of power that so far has made next to no difference) and both will have 95% multiplatform games that will look pretty much identical in every way that significant enough to care about i.e. textures, lighting, animations, not pixels. I did flip to PS4 but not because of brand loyalty or a lack or it on Xbox's side.
I was all ready to get an Xbox One right up to this point but it is hard enough justifying the purchase of one console right now, two would be a total waste of money.
Had a 360, loved it; definitely not getting a One.
Didnt have a PS3, might get a PS4.
Always had a PC.
I just don't trade in consoles, if I haven't used them in ages, I just give it away. My ps3 will still see tons of use in the next few years, but my 360 took up storage space when I bought a ps4. I'm actually surprised at the amount of early adopters this time, sometimes I wish I'd stuck it out until there were more exclusives, because I still have a giant backlog of games, and steam sales aren't helping things.
no way that a company that flat out lies to their customers are poaching me...their horrible psn........hell fn no
Hope they can remember more than 4 attacks :p
The brand loyality thing does exist, but only in a part of the gamers. I think there are many willing to switch to another company if it is the better deal.
I have an almost entirely unused 360, and a much more frequented PC gaming rig (it's in the basement, but there are no doritos or mountain dew down there!). Looking at the market at the moment, I wouldn't bother buying either next gen console. Though to be fair, The Last of Us, the PS4's slight technical superiority and project morpheus (?sp) would sway me away from XBOX if I was looking for another console.
PC...sold my toys long ago...and Id kick the crap out of a zubat for always keeping Sh*t confused...(Sh*t's the actual pokemon getting confused)
Will be same as last gen gaming PC, Wii U & PS4 ..not getting XB1 - already supporting MS with gaming PC running on Windows OS. Waay to promote unhealthy eating...Call of Fatty. :P Yea looking forward to Pokken Tournament if & when that get release outside of Japan unto Wii U. :P
Jess is back, and the thunderstorms, pouring rain and general gloom have finally subsided. Coincidence?
Is Jess a Living Miracle?
That is just how you feel but it is far from the truth. Xbox never abandoned 360. Hence it was and always will be Bette than ps3. Yet To see which console actually has the edge over the other during the next gen stage. Slightly better graphics are not a reason to buy a console, because you cannot notice the difference unless you take 2 pictures of each gameplay zoom in and really analyze them. It does not affect the way the game plays or your expierence at all. Xbox with Kinect is a lot cooler than ps4, but Xbox without Kinect is pointless so you might as well by the ps4 if you only have $400. If Xbox with Kinect was $400 it would be no question Xbox is the system to go with. But as of right now I see no clear winners. Its simply preference of games and controllers that is the deciding factor at this point. Sales do not translate to better system so don't try say ps4 is better because it has sold 10 million consoles because it could mean no one had the extra $100 to spend on Xbox at launch and people tend to buy what their friends buy so the ps4 was the practical answer especially with the excessive advertising.
Actually the Xbox one has much better deals than the ps4. So I'm not sure how deals could lead to you wanting the ps4, that's the last reason you should want the ps4 Lol. Clearly you aren't looking hard enough
@earthgodslyric I'm just waiting for a pokemon game where we have HD graphics on Wii U where it plays the same as X and Y but multi-region and lots of content.
I still have 3 ps3s. Along with my Vita and ps4. In the basement, 2 Dreamcasts, gamecube, 2 NES, 2 snes, Genesis with 32x, ps1, Saturn and my favorite one: Turbografx 16. I see no need to get rid of consoles, I have more but they are spread out to my family members
@Dannystaples14 "The ONLY thing that made me buy a PS4 was the fact I flipped a coin"
By any chance are you a former prosecutor with one side of your face horribly burned?
If you loved the 360 you should definitely get an Xbox one. I love both, though I don't hate ps3 or ps4 at all. I actually plan on getting both as crazy as that sounds. I love video games, its an escape from the real world into a world I wish I could actually live in and pretend I live in. I own a Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, gameboy advanced, Xbox 360 and Xbox one. I used to own ps1 and Xbox and sold them and regret it so much. My dream is to own all the system and the best exclusives for each. When I get taxes back I'm adding the ps4 to the collection and eventually the ps3 and hopefully even the Wii u. The war between console fanboys gets really crazy sometimes. But think about, you argue or our system because you love it, and people arguing with you do the same. Since we all enjoy great games with awesome experiences, we should all get along right? You'd think it would be that way but its sad what the gaming community is today
@Burmercia PC master race bro
@Burmercia You should still get the Xbox
@canuckbiker Same here, if i don't use a console i'll give it away like i did with my PS3 that i didn't need anymore cause i bought a PS4. I however still use my Xbox 360 daily, most of the time even more than i use my Xbox One or PS4 :-)
@justicar_1 So really they are both poaching you because you are soft enough to spend money on two consoles that play 95% the same games.
@beninlux It's logical that if you have a good PC gaming rig that you won't use your 360 (or any console for that matter) much. What i don't understand is how those 3 things you listed would sway you away from Xbox.
1. The Last of Us is a game orinally designed for the PS3 so no need to buy a PS4 for that. There are only some minor upgrades on the PS4 version.
2. Yes the PS4 is technical more powerfull than the One but so far it's not really showing in terms of graphics and performence. And remember, the PS3 was also more powerfull than the 360 and yet the graphics and perfomence were better on the 360.
3. While project morpheus looks very promising it's doubtfull that it will see any meaningfull usage in this console generation.
@superbuuman You should be more excited about smash brah
@PeejayYeh Weird and funny :).
@PeejayYeh yes XD
@Dannystaples14 @justicar_1 There are too few exclusives on both platforms to make anyone sane buy both. It's a waste of money, I'd rather go for a Wii U since they have so many more [true] exclusives (not shitty ported exclusives) and one console. I'm PROBABLY going for the Ps4 just cause of Bloodborne...
@Metallicwolf29 Making the comment straight-forward gives me the creeps. Still I commend the guy. =D
@Metallicwolf29 it just gave the creeps when I just made his statement straight-forward. Well, I still commend the guy. =D
@Metallicwolf29 they should actually make a show of the top five creeper comment the g-spot girls get in a week XD itd be better then feedbakula...man i freacking miss feedbakula :( Come back Johnny COME BACK!
@canuckbiker shh! you're making too much noise, you'll scare them off
