3 reasons im glad.
1. want to play final stand before moving on to hardline
2. will have time for destiny now, and then be able to hammer dragon age later
3. will be able to afford to have all 3 when they launch instead of having to wait longer for 1 or 2 of them.
Since EA and Bioware always release a ton of story DLC for every RPG that does well, I was going to wait a few years anyways. Another month won't matter lol. Can't wait for that Inquisition Ultimate Edition in a few years.
Hey Jess, got a tip for next segment.
"Online game site Gamespot banns the naughty word xb one (no space) from it's comments section. They say they want to help Microsoft with their PR problem. But who really owns whom. You're tuned in to GS News."
I guess I could be the best player for Mutation Nation on the Neo Geo CD because I am one of maybe five players who own that game. To the other four: IT IS ON!!!
I am shocked...shocked, I tell you to know that game delays are going here! I already pre ordered DA:I so don't really care if it's another month's wait if they iron out a few bugs. Not strange that their going to release a patch after launch to fix all the bugs that they didn't fix with that one month or so extra delay. I always wait about a month after purchasing a game to play anyway as I know they always bring out a patch to fix those bugs they didn't get in the first place. Here's hoping it will be nearly polished upon it's release. Not very re-assuring when they showed their demo gameplay at this E3 and displayed 'alpha build' on top of the screen. Shouldn't it be way past Beta by now?
EA Games gets unexpected profit for this quarter... next thing they do is delaying their games to guarantee more benefits next quarter.
Every company is there for the money, but still this feels a bit "Hey there! since we got our profit already we don't care about you having to wait even more"
i actually dont see how they could go back to crash it's just a 3D sidescroller amazing for the ps1 but it's just not going to be the same now a days (unless they do a mario 64 but i can't see that working for crash) some things are just best left alone
If you really care about crash, gibe us a Ps1 Crash Remaster for Ps4 :p I would love to see that, enjoyed each Crash game so much back in the days and still get back to them from time to time. With updated graphics, 1080p/60Hz and improved gameplay (especially analog stick), it could be so fantastic. I don't care much about Jak though. I loved the first entry but after that it just became GTA.
Oh and what's up with EA delaying games to fix bugs? Are they joking? Or will we finally receive a "playable at launch" Battlefield? Also how long are they delayed? I don't thunk they want to miss christmas time?
Thank you Jess. Great Show.
I'm know the next Dragon Age will worth the wait. Just a one month wait. No big deal.
"What Game Do I Want To Be The Best At?"
Mind Games: Protect yourself against evil doers and people who are less than genuine and maybe win over that special someone. . .
Strong Characters? Who has more character than a... bandicoot(?) that... jumps and ummm spins... and pants! Thats a whole lot more character than even I have! And a game about me would be TERRIBLE. I rest my case. Crash for Pres. 2016!
Battlefield needed to be delayed by at least a year or even two. I think its pretty obvious that there was no interest in the game, so this give them a chance to look good by delaying it.
She is hot and I want to marry her. On gaming news sad that Dragon age got pushed back but at least its only a month.
Dang...was looking forward to Hardline in October. That said, I'm all for delays...I've played enough unfinished and unpolished games in recent years.
Hopefully it's as early in 2015 as possible to distance itself from Star Wars: Battlefront as much as possible.
I don't mind waiting longer for a game if developers use that extra time to polish and improve it. I hate when companies release buggy and unfinished games.
Those 2 delays actually don't bother me at all. In the case of BF:H it actually gives me hope that the devs have taken to heart the general sentiment that it felt far too much like a re-skinned BF4 mod and will make the necessary improvements/changes to sufficiently distinguish it from its predecessor. In the case of DA:I, I really stopped caring about this franchise after DA2 and have lost any kind of emotional investment for the series so it could be cancelled and still zero F's would be given by me.
@charlesswann I've noticed that every time I make a snarky remark towards MS my comments get deleted. It's so sad. My snarkiness is golden!
@spartanx169x you know, somebody said almost the exact same thing.
@elitejo every women you find attractive you want to marry?
@elitejo And I want to be your best man!!!
Jokes apart -
She is a human you know? Not a Assasin's creed collectible.
@KillaGinjaNinja What did DA2 do wrong? I've only put 5 hours or so into it (so if it's story-related, don't tell me what it is), but so far it's fine. Graphics are better (not by a whole lot), and the combat is different. DA:O had no polish at all, and the characters in general were not very interesting. Other than the combat, it's basically the same, and combat is never the main focus of a Bioware game. Everything in DA2 is a little bit better, so how is that worse?
@KillaGinjaNinja Dragon Age 2 may not be a masterpiece like Origins, but it is still a good game in my opinion.
@DarkLord @charlesswann tbh, i think ms should have failed already if not for the amount of control over the media they have. like for example the embargo's they placed on reviews for xbox one games. I know people say its a good thing if xbox one does well because then sony has more competition and therefore offers better stuff. are they forgetting the wii u that whether you all like it or not is going to do really well in the coming years when the system sellers like zelda and mario games and of course the jrpg's start arriving. the console industry did not need microsoft when they first released xbox and it still doesn't need it. it was doing just fine when sega were bankrupt and it was nintendo vs sony.
@homelessgamer Unfortunately I have no pants :'(
@homelessgamer hey bud i noticed you have not been checking out the most recent starcitizen news ( well no comments anyway) and maybe its because you have no interest in the game thats cool, but man there is a total nut in there and he is at least worthy of a look if for no other reason then to stair open mouthed with awe. hehehe
@robbiejones no just her.
@dani_i89 @KillaGinjaNinja It should be noted that I played DA:O on PC which, as I remember it, was very polished and complete. And as Zombie97 has remarked, the environments were used repetitively, the characters were weak and IMO the story sucked. But most importantly was the combat: you may think it was an unimportant aspect and are entirely entitled to that opinion, but personally I would disagree - to me it was half the game. DA:O used a more tactical, top-down, turn-based approach akin to old school Bioware CRPGS like Baldur's Gate which I loved. DA:2 felt like a great departure from their tried, tested and loved approach to combat tactics and story/character depth that I had come to expect from Bioware games. TL:DR: DA2 lacked depth in its characters, in its story and its combat.
@Zombie97 I'm truly glad you liked it, but to me it was a travesty that ruined what made the first entry such a gem in my eyes.
@Pawfalcon @homelessgamer hmm.... we can make you as a new version of Gandhi, since Gandhi refrained from wearing shirts and all and travelled barefoot.
DA:O on pc was not polished at all. Mass Effect and the Witcher from 2007 put the graphics in Origins to shame. The world lacked detail, the sound was lackluster and side quests felt like cheap ad-ons. Then you have the corridors (which are admittedly in number 2 as well). Endless corridors, fighting the same enemies, using the same combat tactics, to reach an ending which is told through text, and to then play DC which are totally uninteresting or relevant (excluding Awakening here) Number 2 ateast feels more vibrant, and the characters don't seem boring so far. I did enjoy Origins, but if you thought that was a polished game, then I'd love to know what you think of games like Mass Effect 3 and the Witcher 2.
@KillaGinjaNinja How did it ruin it? Don't mention spoiler btw...I haven't finished it.
@KillaGinjaNinja I played both games on Xbox 360. DA2 wasn't as epic as Origins, had repetitive environments and less interesting characters, but overall I enjoyed it. The combat system was different too, I personally liked it, but I understand why some people did not.
@homelessgamer no problem ;)
@watchdogsrules @spartanx169x I will pick battlefield when origin makes another desperate attempt to woo customers by sending copies out for free.
I know I sound like a freebie begging gamer but seriously, $120 for the "full game" which is only full of bugs and nickel and dime schemes, is too much in my books.
I DEMAND BLIZZARD TO BRING GLORY TO THE PC WORLD!!!
@dani_i89 I had zero issues with DA:O and it felt very polished to me. Polish doesn't necessarily refer to good graphics; it means everything works as it should. I appreciate that you enjoy DA2 and respect your arguments against DA:O. However, my opinion remains that DA:O had far more depth in its characters, story and combat which are the primary pillars in what I would consider a good CRPG. By contrast, I feel like DA2 was designed from the outset as a primarily console oriented action RPG and provided a more shallow experience. The emphasis of the game shifted away from tactics and more towards action. Nothing objectively wrong with that but to me it defied everything that had previously been hallmarks of Bioware CRPGs. I see it as the cut off point where the company actively decided that the Baldur's Gate era of RPGs was over and changed the direction of Bioware's design philosophy.
@rohitv2312 Diablo 3 exists in it's current state....there is no bringing Blizzard back. It's all about CD Projekt Red now.
It's not just the fact that the graphics weren't amazing, it's that they were painfully bland, there was basically no detail in the world, the running and most of the combat animations were very bland, as well as the spell effects. Again, everywhere you went in the game was just corridors and waves of repetitive enemies. I think all other Bioware games delved way deeper in its characters than Origin did. The combat was tactful, but lacked total impact. I'm welcoming a change to the way Bioware do things, they need to shift focus from BG expand, like they did with Mass Effect.
