GS News - Metro Redux will be 1080p on PS4; No Fallout 4 At E3?!
Bethesda say their next big announcement is still a ways off, The Metro series is getting an overhaul for PS4/Xbox One/PC, and new Zelda game screenshots!
Metro is a shooter game, this game is meant to be played on PC, plus, you haven't to buy the game twice just because you need it on an other platform - It is the most interminable stable platform.
More than that, this game looks a lot better on PC than on console since it was even released. The 4A Engine is great, one of the best graphics engines I've ever seen. Consoles are not made for graphical power, so if you want to enjoy this, it shouldn't be done by playing it on console... People shouldn't care about in what resolution and what frames it will support for the console, because this is not the point for console games. It doesn't even makes sense...
I usually side squarely with single player campaigns when given a choice. Though I can't imagine a fighting game like Soul Calibur succeeding w/o some form of multiplayer. I've also never heard the term "pay to win" used to indicate anything positive. I wish them luck though. I still have fond memories of the early games in the franchise.
I like how ps4 devs are quick to point out 1080p...but don't say anything about the inconsistent framerate that comes with it.
That Metro redux stuff sounds like a pretty sweet deal, especially for PS4 and Xbox One users.
I do find it a little silly how intense the focus is on the whole resolution and frame rate stuff. I can't recall hearing a lot about that for previous generations. I guess people are just more educated/picky these days.
Can we get some reporting on the ESO Craglorn debacle by any chance? Are you guys asleep or what? This is the worst I've seen since Diablo 3 or the last Sim City.
Watch Dogs on PS4, 900p and 30fps. It looks kind of like GTA V except a bit smoother and the animations we've seen so far for things like lamp posts being knocked over are pretty crap.
Metro 2033, is in 1080p and 60fps. That might be because it is 4 years old at this stage and Last Light wasn't exactly a massive improvement graphics wise over the first Metro anyway.
One day soon this 1080p crap bubble is going to burst. People can't stay that ignorant forever and I can tell you that crap is not going to taste nice.
I am almost at the end of Metro 2 on PS3. I might not play it, skip it, and play other games since there are so many games I want to play. I'd then play both Metro in 1080p/60 on PS4
i knew they weren't going to show fallout 4 this e3, they are focusing on the games they are publishing for this year... Wolfenstein, The evil within etc. They don't want to shift focus away from those titles.
This constant mentioning of resolutions is getting really old. A few pixels here and there doesn't enhance the game at all.
It's entirely possible to have a game in 1080p that sucks.
Too bad about no Fallout 4 or TES at E3...
Fighting game without multiplayer, well since they said they are going for a more casual market then maybe it works there, not sure. I was surprised to hear someone calling their own game pay-to-win.
Another remake?? Is anyone else tired of this? Metro's been available for a long time now. It's even free on PS+. I'm not getting this.
Bethesda just realised that everything they'd come up with for a new Fallout would look much worse than Metro Last Light already... :D
Bethesda, please just give us a hint, or better yet, confirm that Fallout 4 is in development, don't let it turn into another Half-Life 3. I understand that you need a long time to make such a huge game, but many fans of the series are getting worried. It feels like new rumors and supposedly leaked information appears almost on a daily basis, but we've heard close to nothing from official sources.
@westsiderz28 Yeah, I have to admit that I was actually more excited for Link's Crossbow Training than this. To be fair though I would likely choose to watch paint dry rather than endure another Dynasty Warrior game. However, some people do love them. So I guess I'm just not the intended audience.
@westsiderz28 that's because its part of the Dynasty Warrior franchise
@stevhall88 And ignore the money?
@Dannystaples14 They won't be less ignorant, they'll just move on to saying 4K is the standard and 1080p is unplayable.
@fgjnfgh You'll likely have to play through Metro 2 again in order to get the best ending anyway. So I'd go ahead and finish it. Unless you just really want to experience the ending for the first time on next gen. In which case please ignore me. It's okay. I won't take it personally.
@marlobc I have had Last Light on my Steam on my rig for probably almost a year now but just never bothered playing it. I just started it last night and I have to say it is really good, and i myself am not a FPS fan. It has a real survival horror feeling to it. It kind of gives me a Doom meets Alien kinda vibe
@robbiejones that sounds true and you are most likely right, I hope you arent and I hope they JUST F*CKING RELEASE FALLOUT 4. (throws keyboard through window, jumps out the window, starts crying and clawing at face)
@tribeofasher However if you are in the situation of choosing between the exact same game with less or more pixels and/or frames per second then more is definitely better.
@hi-buzz I liked it on my PS3. To date, the game still looks awesome and is an absolute joy to re play it. No complains on the visuals.
@TheExxorcist soon we're going to have games running at a better resolution than the real world.
@hystavito Ikr? I've never heard anyone use the term "pay to win" used to indicate anything positive. I am happy that they didn't go with that strategy with the inclusion of multiplayer. Though I still can't imagine a fighting game like that w/o some kind of multiplayer. They could always have done "pay to win" for the single player campaign and not have any of it carry over to multiplayer. /Shrugs
@skiggy34 Nope, if they put out great games, I couldn't care less, unless that's all we got, and it's not.
@skiggy34 The "remake" costs only 10$ for each Metro game on Steam when you already own the games. Buy it or don't...
@Zombie97 : Amen brother! I am dying to play Fallout 4.
@youre_a_sheep Haha 4K. That will be relevant when there is a single channel broadcasting in it. Right now 3D is more relevant than 4K.
Which to be honest won't be soon because right now there are still more channels in standard definition than in HD definition. Who is going to go 4K any time soon in that case?
@marlobc doom meets alien that is when you are fighiting the mutants. there is allot of human fighting to
@CiTizenMaSSaKre @marlobc Metro games are really good games. The first needs polish, it has some minor bugs, the engine isn't the greatest in terms of optimisation, and the game fell short in places. LL was 5 steps forward of the original.
However both of them pale to the stalker games and I hope a dev picks them up, letting a franchise like stalker die was criminal.
