if this game is going to be for "new consoles" is that going to affect PC players like me? I hope that we're not going to be left in the cold, or get a crappier version than console players.

I'm pretty sure 3 will fix all the problems 2 had. I'm looking forward to it.

Bioware have taken some hits recently, but a fantastic DA3 could bring back my trust in them. I'm with what appears to be majority that disliked DA2 (I just found the whole thing bland and repetative with a forgettable story and characters that had no emotional connection with me whatsoever). Maybe if they listen to the fans and not just churn out what EA tells them to they could redeem themselves.

Oh, and no day 1 DLC please, or quest NPC's in the vanilla that 'activate' with a separate purchase. I also don't care for multiplayer or co-op in a story-driven game, particularly an RPG.

Origins was an epic game and by far my favorite RPG since Baldur's Gate II, I'm hoping Inquisition will add to the story of the Grey Warden, and hopefully we'll see the return of some old characters such as Morrigan. Crossing my fingers.

I think i'll skip this one and wait for Dragon Age VI.   I hope it will be in Holographic 3D.  That will be super awesome.

Dragon Age 2 was awesome, much better than Dragon Age 1. I don't know why most people didn't like it?

I think the world has the right be be a bit skeptical about BioWare.

on my board:

BG2 - epic (graphics, voices,  story, ... everything)

DA - very good(story)

DA2 - eye candy(so so)

now waiting for BG Enchanted.

Fully expect to be unimpressed, but I'm hoping for more Baldur's Gate and... well, no Mass Effect at all.

I hope it'll be a combination of DA I & II. Well more DA I than II ...

@Kolarsa

ah man you havnet heard yet have you? Dude microsoft has already released information that they gonna kill of pc gaming slowly but surely. They starting by not realesing most games , that should be multi platform. Theres no guarantee that this game will ever see the light of day for PC, and even if it does it wil be an inferior product.

@e5115271 DA2 would have been much better if you didnt play the same areas 3 times. The change in game play wasnt bad and opened it more up to other platforms. Since I grew up playing Icewind Dale and Boulders Gate I preferred the style in DA1 better.

@Ishimmura Probably because it was obviously an unfinished product that was rushed to market before fully baked.  I agree that it had potential, and improved over DAO in some ways, like combat.  But the world was ridiculously small, and questing over and over again in the same recycled levels was downright painful.  It was not nearly as epic as DAO.  Then Bioware had the audacity to try convince everyone that the half-assed design was a feature by saying things like they wanted the story to progress over time as opposed to a geographic area.  I suspect they were pressured by EA to deliver for fiscal reason.  The end result only hinted at what DA2 could have been if given a proper development cycle.  Hopefully DA3 will realize that potential.

@Ishimmura Da2 was bad overall, a great display of bioware's new found developing skills , copy / paste. It had some good things, like fighting animations , graphically was interesting in what character and companions design went, professions were a cool improvement , but then the storyline kinda crappy  , the game was lazy...running around the damn city all the time like a damn mad dog after it's own tail was kinda frustrating ..

I'd say most people didn't like it because it was a dumbed down peice of greased stool meant for CoD players.

@Ishimmura IMHO, that depended on whether you played for console or PC. It was supposed to be a tactical game. To make it desirable to console players, combat was altered. Many of the original people didn't like the hybrid and many new console players found it lackluster. It sort of melted away. Personally, I rather enjoyed it as well. I just wish others did.

@Ishimmura @schesak  No no no my friend...It is not "PLENTY" of you that liked the game, rather it is a MINORITY of you that did. That , in fact, is the reason why unhappy people were louder...Because they were actually a LOT more than your minority.I didn't hate DA 2 as most people did but i sure as hell DIDN"T like it more than DA:O! You can't even begin to compare those two games. Dragon Age 2 was Mass Effect-ized and that was not a good thing as many people would think. They should have kept the identity of the game intact and not bastardize it with other IPs.Next thing they make a new "Shepard" starring In Neverwinter Nights 3!(Not that NW3 is gonna come ever from BioWare but anyway)

@Ishimmura I agree with you (minus the word "much").   I imagine plenty of people felt that way.  As with all things on the internet, though, the unhappy people are just LOUDER than the happy ones.  It tends to result in the impression that overall negativity is greater than it really is.

@wecna The BG enhanced was disappointing and basically updated it to run on modern computers and thats it.

I hope they get someone that knows how to design a half way decent looking sword this time.  In DA2 they were awful.

@rhymesmatter  @schesak I'm in love with Mass Effect, so giving DA 2 a Mass Effect touch was great.

Let see how DA 3 turns out. I hope its great and everybody likes it.

Well that's nonsense logic. There's a reason so many people are unhappy with Bioware and especially the Dragon Age devs. In fact there are hundreds of reasons but the main ones involve lacklustre gameplay and lazy, greedy developers and publishers(when it comes to not releasing patches or continually releasing over-priced shallow DLC, take your pick). Three years ago this comments page would be filled with hype and fanboyism. Now here you are. And less than seven of us even care.

You can be happy with your product all you want, there were thousands who weren't and are done with the "epic" series as a result. I recall 100 full pages on one forum of complaints on EA's website, and the response people received was pathetic and went something along the lines of: "we have no obligation to patch our glitchy games, despite their linearity and our deep pockets and continuous stream of even more glitched DLC." The ass who said that was more frustrated than the people complaining so this is nothing new. To this day they only released one actual update, the rest were patches to connect the vanilla game to new DLC(although you have to wonder why they'd need to they were so insignificant).

It seems most of the fans just crave a Baldur's Gate reincarnation that isn't coming. Even the first which stayed true to Bioware's dated RPG platform had so many glitches, remained unpatched, and had the worst contemporary visuals of any game I've owned from that time. Ahh the glory days. :D Just the other day in my local paper there was an announcement about the head developers and creators of Bioware stepping down because they had, "lost the creative drive and interest in making games". One is starting a beer website dedicated to "reviewing" beer, the other is going into a business that will help young, creative entrepreneurs startup their own projects. If that doesn't say everything I don't know what does. Not trying to change your mind, just stating my opinion and peppering it with some facts. Let's see you unravel a conspiracy of bitter people out to get Bioware. On another note I'll sell you Dragon Age and Awakenings for 15 dollars if you want to spread the gospel.

The art style in DAO was supposedly influenced by fantasy artist Gerald Brom.

The art style in DA2 was influenced by the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

@Alex_09 Two major things. First, you play the same area 3 times in a row making things boring. Second the game style changed greatly, but I thought they did a good job. Some people didnt like and that ruins a game hence the hate.
