GS News - Call of Duty is PS4’s best seller, EA says no annual Battlefield
Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Ghosts is the best-selling game on the PlayStation 4 and the most pre-ordered on the Xbox One. Meanwhile, EA explains why they won’t make Battlefield an annual series and Microsoft CEO defends the value of Xbox and Bing.

I'm enjoying bf4, glad they aren't trying to rush it out. Cod is the fast food of shooters, change is bad, mmmkay
i think CoD sells alot cause there are ALOT of casual gamers on consoles that dont know much of anything about games and just want easy kills
If people don't like CoD than why are they selling so much? Does it really affect your life to the point that you have to go to a forum/website to gribe about a game?
Last time I checked there is no obligation to buy any video game.
Console peasants still buying CoD hahaha. They buy "Next Gen" and still play the same shitty games. Sickening.
Why people keep buying Call of Duty games? I just don't get it. And why reviewers keep giving them good scores? It's the same freaking game every time. Thank god I don't have to buy them.
- EA should take their own advice and stop releasing annual sports titles. I've said it before that they should cycle through them - one sports title a year, and with 4 titles that gives 4 years development. In the mean time they can support the previous games with roster updates. This way new versions of a title will be vasty different and superior to the last - instead of rehashing the same game each year with little more than roster updates and engine tweeks being sold at full price.
- Of course CoD: Dogs is a best seller on PS4 - there aren't any other games available for it yet. Well, not ones worth mentioning.
- I've heard of this Bing thing, but I couldn't tell you want it actually is. And I'm pretty sure I've never actually used it - that I'm aware of.
- OK, so a quick Google search tells me that Bing is a search engine. Thanks, now I've just wasted my "learn something new every day" on a piece of useless infomation.
So now there are always long and entertaining threads in the comments and i miss them because of time differences. Damn :(
Well, at least I got entertaining morning reading material.
Regarding the video itself, it's the usual: Jess is awesome, some of the biggest companies out there make fools of themselves yet again and... No blooper! Again! Come on Jess, stop being such a professional.
How am I not surprised at CoD being best seller? The power of 12yr old's shooting each other in the face!
Just because something has mass appeal doesn't make it good, it just means it has good marketing and appeal.
Well, I know I must be a nerd when I literally lol at the space time continuum joke. Thanks for the laugh Jess.
I haven't followed Battlefield closely, but as far as I can tell, it is still a large shooter where you can shoot and drive pretty much anything. So what is it that EA says that it has changed significantly between titles? The graphic engine, sure, but it has been in the modern world for 2, 3, and 4. What's changed mechanically?
I only heard a bunch of news about consoles i don't care about, so my only real question is.....Is your hair really going to look worse if you comb it?
Truly Jess is stunning, gorgeous. I love her personality and her accent is beyond cute.
EA releasing slight game updates each year? That's just crazy talk.
BUt for EA, what will happen next year in regards to another big release? They shelved MoH warfighter, which i personally enjoyed and had a great campaign. Also, Syndicate has been shelved as wel, which was another really cool gamel. I could see the star wars battlefront release in 2015 before episode 7 but thats it.
The game isn't the joke, the joke is how many times they convince people to pay $60 for new MP maps.
its true cod is the McDonald of fps' sure the sell tons of burgers but they are still shit burgers.
@XxXDarkness0XxX I just going to comment on that, I played BF4 first and CoD right after and I have to say the one thing I noticed right away was how much more unrefined and unpolished CoD Ghosts felt compared to BF4.
Lame opinion here.
@snaketus Reviewers not completely lambasting the Call of Duty games is one of the biggest tragedies in gaming right now. I am not one to believe in payoffs for reviews, but something fishy is definitely going on. Game reviewers are in an important position, and have a moral obligation, they have the ability to completely change the outcome of gaming for the better, yet they still champion this awful franchise and continue to let its numbers grow and this style of "gaming" to reign supreme. Game reviewers, like film critics have a responsibility to help move the industry forward.
Someone should have you hypnotized to buy the games. But not to like them! So every time you're like "why the f*ck did I buy one of these again, what the hell is wrong with me!" Although I'm sure that's actually the case for some folks.
@arcaias Because you are not her
@wetro what are you using as a browser? because I never had any problems playing videos. And don't tell me its Android or an Iphone/Ipad because it's working ok on both for me. Update your browser/addons.
@crix01 If she combed it with a Van de Graaff comb, maybe. I'd like to see that one.
@CaptainSofa Hah! You're funny.
its obvious you don't know what you are talking about from your comments.
@wgerardi @snaketus i do agree with you but reviewers have to try and look at each game on its own. Although previous entries cannot be ignored they do have to try and take it from the point of view that you may not have played any of the others. yes for those of us who have played all the older cod ( i personally stopped at blops 1 and world at war time) its getting rather boring and almost frustrating but for someone just new to gaming and only playing ghosts for the first time ever, might think its the dogs balls.
so perhaps a 2 score system? who knows
